Blue should have an uphill policy for off-hours. Hike and ski X-mas…. Or just drive to CB…. What does "discuss safety" entail?
-
Where are you spending x-mass? PA? With no work next week, and a light schedule, maybe drive north sunday, ski vt. monday, catskills tues, home for X-mass…..
-
Sunday is our only shot, but tons of stuff piling up. If we go for it, I think we'll head to JF. Gonna be warm.

well, sad to have missed the snow on saturday, and we weren't able to bring our daughter's friend with us today, but we had a great day. Snow was excellent. Bumps were great in the am, less great in the PM (is it me, or are those seeded bumps always just a little too far apart? regardless, the valleys were icy in the PM) Paradise was fun, with good snow in the gully on the sides of the trail. Lazy mile was fun. Burma road, falls...everything is better with real snow. Really, good fun. We skied from about 9 to 1:30. Longest line was about 4 minutes....
-
Sounds like we made the wrong call if it didn't get really snowy till late. Bummer
-
Where do you get your weather? Seems more accurate than mine.
-
Yeah, it's crazy. If my wife and I weren't driving with our daughter and her friend, we would have went for it, but didn't seem right to drive kids into a winter storm warning. Oh well. My friend was just telling me about years ago, when mountain creek was vernon valley, they closed the mountain because there was too much snow! Too funny.
-
We bailed after I checked the weather at 5:30 this morning. Looked like it would be a tough ride home. Kind of regretting it now. Oh well. We'll be there or CB tomorrow 9-1:30 or so, so I'll get my fix in for the week. Have fun!

Camelback forecasting for 9". Could be good.
-
Yeah, sunday will bring the crowds for sure.
-
I'm seeing snow starting at 7am Sat. But I think I'm going to try to change our say trip to Sunday.
-
well, if you go for it, drive safe. 2-3" I work in bucks county PA and we have more like 4-5 here I think. And down in DE they got more like 6-8 on Sunday.
-
Yeah, we usually go 248. Thanks for the info. Might bail on blue and go to camelback instead just because it's closer to highways. But clearly, Blue is the right call for tomorrow - the valley lifts will keep folks moving uphill and the bumps will get some soft snow on top….. Should be a good day and worth the slow drive. Enjoy everyone!

Local folk, how does the Palmerton/Nazzareth area do with the roads? Sounds like it's gonna snow all day. Wouldn't mind getting stuck and skiing all day and night, but we'll be taking some kids who need to get home to central jersey by 6.
-
I was wondering that as well. Only thing I can think is, they think it's too narrow?
-
Let's push that back to 9. I've got a 1-1/2hr drive to get through.
-
weather.com shows the snow starting saturday am.
-
I was just looking for the hourly on that storm - late saturday, huh? Bummer. Doesn't help us. And I don't think I can switch this day trip to sunday. Even groomed, a couple of inches will feel nice Sunday morning. and maybe that will put a few more trails over the hump for sunday opening….
-
Web site says they are spinning the 6 pack and the quad Saturday. Pretty hard to argue with that. With just a few trails open on that side, can't imagine there will be any lines at all.
-
Camelback is opening more terrain….between there and Blue.
-
The big news was, they broke ground on the hotel/waterpark. Seems like a bummer to me - how many more people can that mountain hold?
-
Nice - good for you man.
-
They made huge deal about it last year….
-
Camelback teasing big news on their Facebook page…. Nile Mile opening Saturday?
-
My Ski Report Ap is showing Blue with 3" already! I think some one there is exaggerating…. Whatever they get is better than nothing. And with cold temps the rest of the week, maybe we'll get more new trails than we thought by the weekend.
