My daughter and I were thinking of entering, and we both said we totally would ski around the jumps! Doesn't look like our schedule will allow for competing, but we, or at least I, might come up to ski Sat. morning and maybe stay to watch a few runs of the comp. I hope they seed teh hell out of everything in celebration of the contest.

Looks like no frozen cord till sat. night/sun am.
-
lower section of razors, right? what did you suggest that was ignored?
-
It's gonna rain friday, but warm Saturday? Sound about right? Anyone entering the bump competition?!?!?!
-
That pic is the future trail;? I didn't realize they had it cut down to the end like that. Never noticed it the couple times I've skied Pardise this year.....

Ski check in the lower lot was open Saturday. I don't think it was in the upper. This is most certainly a mix up. Who would want to steal little skis like that? Also, the post said a similar set was left in the spot these were taken. This happened to us at Mad River Glen last year. My wife moved her skis to the road side rack, and by the time I brought the car around, they were gone. We reported them missing to the ski shop and the guy there said "They weren't stolen. No one steals here." And sure enough, we got a call that night - someone had scooped them up by accident. They were returned first thing in teh morning... Not to say theft doesn't happen.

Sounds like someone grabbed the wrong skis. That is a bummer. What's the word on the storm for blue?
-
hmmm.... what is your weight and height? Im 6'1 185. thinking about trying to swap these for 188s..
-
Got there around 9. Everything was nice and soft. Got a little cream-cheese heavy after about 11, but whatever. New skis are great - Blizzard Rustler 9s. Only concern is, maybe should have gotten the 188 instead of the 180s. Oh well. They were snappy and fun. Today wasn't a real test for them tough - it was too nice! Had to get home early so left around 12:30 looked for you guys in the lot to finally meet, but the only people tailgating that I saw were parents BBQing for the race team. Someday...

Have new skis to try out. Might head to blue int eh morning. Looks like it might snow tonight, maybe some rain/snow in the am? Not bad...at least it will be soft. Haven't been keeping up with the forum - everyone having a good season?
-
Exactly what did they yell at you? Was it an uncomfortable ride up?
-
No? How much was that then? Was that the year we had just boat loads of snow and cold? So base was great? So looking forward, thoughts on this weekend storm? Might be close to the ice/snow line for pokes and cats.
-
got it - thanks!

Saw signs up in the lodges advertising them, and I think even an information booth in the summit lodge. I don't know which is taking longer - The trail that is coming soon, or the condos....
-
....of you guys tearing up Blue on that giant storm about 5 years back? Was a big storm, like 24" + Lift lines, trees, everything was in play.... Just saw weather map showing the Pokes get 30" this weekend....
-
what's taking so long with the condos????

So I drove down to the lower lot with my daughter thinking for sure I would finally meet you guys. But: 1) Lower lodge wasn't selling tickets we had to go back tot he summit. 2) I guess you guys were gone - it was around 11:15-11:30. Didn't see anyone tailgating. We took our time because the forecast indicated rain didn't stop until 11-12. Snow was great - spring corn, not to slushy. longest line was maybe 5 chairs. Skied 11:45 to 3 and had enough. Fun time. Really think Blue is doing a nice job - summit lodge is damn nice (except the food - the food f-ing sucks) and they were selling noon to 4 tickets fo $40, which was nice thing for them to do - I would have totally paid regular price. And the snow making production is pretty crazy.... Easy to like a mountain when you have no crowds and soft snow, but that aside, I feel like they are doing things right. Anywho - great day. Lazy>Falls was the ROTD, fun to have Burma open, and the bumps were fun, though they got slick toward the end of our session. -
CB doesn't have much open. I guess about the equivalent to blue. Catskills look clear all day, but not sure I'm up for the ride. Weird storm - went from a total washout for the whole east coast, to no rain in VT, hardly any in Cats, and a clear day in teh might Pokes. Hope the weather breaks like this all season.

forecasts are vacillating. We were planning on skiing one day this weekend, hunter or blue I suppose. But can't get a grip on the weather.

do you mind divulging were that first glade pic is?

Weekend Roll Call thread...12/8-12/9..

so, same as the last weekends but plus lazy? Is that right? -
The only time I've been night skiing at blue, took my daughter and some of her friends. they were off doing their thing, and I was just poking around. Was a few years ago - there was a TON of snow and conditions were very good - packed powder. Tons in the trees. Took a peek at the bike trail between lazy and sidewinder. There was a little light spill from the trails, so I figured, what the hell...wasn't nearly as bright in there after about 5 yards, and the bike trail was slick and fast as hell, but somehow I survived. Wouldn't recommend tree skiing at night though.

I'll bring my skins...ski to the valley under the guns and skin back up....under the guns.
