wow boulder is really stepping it up this year! no doupt prob one of the best parks on the east!
-
sick cant wait to see what they put in...haha i was just looking at the web cam and someone decieded to make their own jump onto it right in the front, so its not urban haha lame
-
umm exactly when is it supposed to get to 60, i just look at the weather and the warmest its supposed to get is like 50 on sunday and all the other days are in the 40's and 30's. its not that hard to go to weather.com to look at when a storm is comming. and if you want to know how much snow bear has look in the conditions topic or just go there
-
I don't have anything against bears park crew. I just know what they are able to achieve. And for the person that said they couldn't spare the snow, umm to fix a lip takes not even two shovels of snow, your only fixing the lip not building the jump.
-
doesnt matter, they didnt loose that much snow that they couldnt spare and inch or two to add to a lip. if just frustrates me because it seems like this year they hired people dont know what the heck they are doing. im not putting anyone on park crew down, there is always good people at a job and bad people, but they should at least be catching on now.
-
exactly...i mean dont get me wrong bears park crew has been doing a good job with what they have had to work with but there is always room for improvement
-
im not pissed off at them at all i just just thought that they could have done a little more with the park than they did. i mean ok they have three flat boxes and one flat concrete thing which is basicly another flat box. they could have set up one flat box, one urban set up, and one up slant or something else. none of those things that i just listed take alot of snow. i was just expecting a little more creative wise from them then what they did.
-
im not complaining im saying that there isnt really any reason why they could not have set up the rails differently instead of everyone being flat.
-
everyone is talking about the lack of snow... but to make an urban box you need less snow than the current ones, the jumps onto it arent as big. there really isnt any excuse for that. for some reason i just think bear is afraid to set up urban shit...i mean they never have in the past. the only thing i can really think of is the stair case. im not trying to bash bear in any way, im just making a point that there at least doesnt seem to be a real reason as to why there is no urban stuff. and like someone else said before, you could set up one of the boxs as an up box or anything. every single box dosnt have to be flat on opening day.
-
yeh i agree i see them riding way too much, i understand that the snow conditions have not been very well, especially the granular stuff that you cant do shit with, but i mean close it down fix it and throw some salt on it and let it set for 15min and it will be all good again. i do it at my house all the time. no matter how shitty the snow is it will always melt. plus shouldnt the people on park crew have experience or at least know how to fix stuff? i didnt think that they were hired not knowing how to maintain anything...
-
not to mention that every single time i ride blue i almost get blown over or kill myself on all the ice...by the way what exactly was blue doing that whole week and a half when they had perfect snowmaking weather? It took them a week and a half to open 10 trails? hah thats poor. oh and about the whole boulder thing yeh maybe they opened with the bare minimum, but the pt is that they still opened a month earlier, there is not other explanation.
-
i have k2 bindings and love them, going into my second year with them...but anyways rode bear this morning from 9 to 10. i was gonna stay longer but all the shit we got started sticking to the rode alot quicker than i think everyone thought. i barly made it up the hill to get outa bear. otherwise the conditions werent really that bad...however they do need snow. it was nice this morning i think that there were only prob 10 people on the whole mtn while i was there. wish i could have rode longer but w/e ill be up tomorrow night
-
if your a skier then its got alot of vert but otherwise nope
-
i think that it would be sick to put out the 420 box and only have it like not even a foot off of the snow. you could learn so many new tricks on there and not have to worry about missing the box and falling a high distance
-
hah prob not
-
there is also alot more snow out west and colder. someone from bear said last season that they would never think about expanding to the back because of the sun, however they were throwing ideas around about expanding to the sides.
-
i was there but i left around 7, conditions werent really that bad though overall
-
i like the new ledge i just think that it shouldnt be ride on, thats all, otherwise i think that it slides nice! i give you guys mad props for the park set up right now, with the snow that you have and for opening weekend it was a pretty damn good park. cant wait till we really get the park scene going!
-
wow bears snowtubing is already open with five slides, blue is really behind this year
-
are they setting anything up in cascade? It doesn't seem like there are cuz there still isn't anything in there but I was jw if anyone knew?
-
whats the website?
-
nice looking box...not be be a dick but did you really use that many 2x4's when framing it cuz that sure seems like a ton. i spaced mine like evey 2ft and it is sturdy as hell.
-
i think that we can all agree that they are not opening tomorrow...they would have announced it by now, plus they didnt even start pushing any piles around from what i can see. but friday would def be better becuase like early stated they can blow all the through friday morning. that is a ton of snow...think about how many more features they will have on opening day and how much better it will be, i think you all can handle another day(maybe except a few minizep ha) but they also should take full advantage of this cold and make all the snow they can becuase it is going to start to get a little warmer for a little with not being able to make snow every night, so to sum this up i think its a good descion to wait until friday to open for tons of different reason...
-
i think its a pretty safe bet to say they will open somtime this weekend, so everyone can relax now ha
-
i honostly dont think that we have to worry about when bear will be opening. they really shouldnt have a problem opening on friday...i was just there and there are tons of decent piles of snow. after the next two days of good snowmaking i think everyone will be surprised at how much snow they actually have on opening day...p.s. it doesnt look like the piles are that big on the mtn cam, believe me i was amazed when i saw it today in person...
