people buy passes to bear creek for the terrain park because if you ask any person that is not from either mtn they will say bear has the better terrain park and blue has better freeriding. thats basicly what it comes down too

if blue opens with the trails listed on their web site, which is the usual on opening day, at full price they are going to loose alot of customers. people are not gonna pay that much to ski 4 trails. i mean think about it, for how much time blue has had to make snow they should have at least half the mtn open this friday. people are gonna go to bear or somewhere else to ski because blue will be the only mtn open with only like 4 trails at a very expensive price. oh and blue is def not the best mtn in the pocenos, maybe for just freeriding but way far behind in terrain parks.

it is totally possible for bear to open on thursday. i mean look at the weather forecast, tonight a low of 25 and they started blowing around 9. tomorrow a high of only 33!! that could be snowmaking all day depending on the humidity. even so most of the day. then tomorrow night a low of 24 with wednesday a high of 31 with a low of 19. and thursday a high of 34...if bear opens thursday im pretty sure they will open at 4 so they can blow most of the day. then thursday a low of 25. def snowmaking temps for awhile now, so lets keep our fingers crossed for thursday opening and a good winter!!!

i think that if bear wants to open before blue on thursday they will be able too...however i think that if they opened friday they would have more snow and better coverage. but i would rather them open thursday so all of us bear creekers can brag that we opened before blue with more terrain!!

is it me or does it look like there is really not that much snow on cascade??? it seems like the whole mtn is covered except cascade, i thought those were like the best guns on the mtn?

what are you talking about you can never ride with an offpeak. i have been getting them for four years now and i love them. It saves me money because the only real difference with an unlimited is that you can go and ride a sat sun or holiday when its extremely crowed. the only good thing is that 1 or 2 hours real early in the morning, but to me its not worth it. just ride during the week and late weekend/holiday nights.

i think that it would be extremely smart of bear to open on thursday, however only if they are able to make enough snow. that would be the best for bear to be able to say that they opened earlier than blue, and i dont know for sure but blue is prob only opening what they normaly open in the begining, which is like 3 trails.

depends on how much they want to change and how fancy they want to be. on opening day they usually go with boxes and rails with just jumps to get on since they dont have all the snow, so usually only a night. when they redue cascade in the middle of winter with all the snow it might take andy a night just to push all the snow into the spots and then the next night place all the rails and fine tune everything. but it sucks that humidity is so high because otherwise they could still be blowing snow!

minizep if you would just read you would know that andy said that the main reason for not having the rail jam tomorrow is because of the impending weather, not the snow. even though they would barely have enough that was not a main reason. p.s. dude find something else to do besides being on paskiandride 24/7

new trail- to steep and windy its also always icey no more bullshit rails-just some nice progressive rails and boxes actually maintain the park dont just say that you have a good park crew but they dont do shit ACTUALLY LISTEN TO YOUR PARK RATS THEY KNOW WHAT THERE TALKING ABOUT AND WANT WE HAVE GOOD IDEAS i mean look at bear creek, half the new stuff they built was what was discussed on this web site by the locals!

the wood jumps are a good idea but not practicle for bear...at the mtn lab they don't have the traffic bear has so the snow stays perfect on the wood. Plus the pros have what ever tools they need and maintain then all the time. I mean if for some reason the snow was not even or a little higher than the wood ur gonna have a big problem. But bear did use dirt to help out he big jump line, they didnt carve the exact shape but they did make the run go down flat down so they don't need to build up as much snow for the landing, now they basicly need to make the jump. as for opening I think the following weekend.

well if they want to open they need to get all the construction shit outa the base area!

im pretty sure bear didnt even move out the portable guns yet, so thats a big sign that says they dont give a shit when they open. see here is my point of view...bear is owned by a big company making money in lots of other ways than just the skiing and snowboarding. which is why i think bear doesnt push to get open and they take their time. boulder on the other hand is still owned by a big company but is only just skiing and snowboarding, so thats how they make their money, not to mention they are also in the pocenos. bear has never been the ones to push the envelope with opening, we go through this every year. i predict they will open around dec 8. i honostly think that if we had a week of cold weather in the middle of nov bear still wouldnt make snow until dec.

bear is not turning urban, look at the new big hit jump line in the tubing park that they just redid this summer so the hit could be even bigger!

nah the barel bonk was set up shitty last year, you should have it set up that you can come from any angle you want with quarter pipe ramp up to it, so much better. idk i mean you all are talking about just flat stuff, bear has that all over the mtn if you look, so idk why we keep complaining about it. and for whoever said bear has circus rails, have you been to blue mtn? every rail that was out this past year was not impossible and very progressible. cant wait to see the new set up in the super park!
