  1. They have one for $109 this year. Good deal, but I won't make it there 3 times. Probably not more than once. Looks like their website sells tickets like liftopia. Can be cheap if you know in advance what day you want to go and are sure about it. For giggles I picked the last Saturday in Jan (didn't buy) and it was $30.
  2. No, I've never been there. I'm interested in trying out every nearby area at least once though. Just figured I'd add a data point. Was looking at deal sites trying to scope out lift deals and saw one for there and got me intrigued about where they were at.
  3. First open Saturday BBQ in the lot?
  4. Looks like Mountain Creek was making snow night before last. Says on their Facebook they are targeting a Dec 17th opening.
  5. Looks like it's still snow instead of rain up at Camel, which is nice for them since they'll be able to use the light coating to mislead their customers with hotel reservations for the weekend into thinking they might open so they won't cancel.
  6. I grew ghosts in the garden a couple of years ago. Incredibly prolific plant. Got at least 150-200 pods off the one plant. Still have some dried in the garage. Dan Schantz made me sign a waiver to buy the plant, lol
  7. Careful dude. Don't shit where you eat.
  8. Got a shower above there? Leaky drain on the shower pan was my issue when I had the same problem. Had to cut a nice sized hole in the ceiling
  9. Nightmare to Dreamweaver Lazy Mile Switchback Paradise Widowmaker cut over to Burma
  10. Nah, got my fill in today. For new terrain I would, or if I had a pass, for sure. Today will probably hold me over until Blue opens, unless someone else does something interesting between now and then
  11. That's what kept my pops away, he saw Tannenbaum listed as a park on their map and didn't want to deal with features. I was convinced there wouldn't be features in it, gamble paid off. Cover was definitely thinner on skiers right, and that side also had a couple of natural rollers 2/3 - 3/4 of the way down the trail. Maintained pretty good coverage through 1pm tho
  12. That's they key, heck, rentals are $40, so it's $20 for a lesson and beginner lift. If someone were to decide on lesson 2 they wanted more they could buy a ticket and still be ahead money wise. I wonder if you can use your pass on lesson day 3 if it's after 2/20? Or if you could take two lessons back to back and count it as days 2 and 3? Lol
  13. Problem with trying Burma first time out is if you can't turn parallel it's so narrow. I took my first timer lesson at Blue and by the end they had me up on the chair (2/3 of the class never got off the carpet) and linking wedge turns. The next week I went up to Camel because a friend hooked me up with a bunch of free tickets and was cruising the heck out of Sunbowl so I decided to head to the top of the mountain to try the green routes down. That didn't work out too well for someone skiing wedge turns, lol.
  14. I've had a few friends express interest in it. I would tell them not to even attempt Burma until they can turn parallel. That's at least into the second lesson, and probably even the third
  15. Boulder today, headed up after the first run of the day: A look toward the base from waaaaay up on top of Tannenbaum: Ugh. Getting crowded. Time to split:
  16. Stuck to Tannenbaum the entire time, was solo today so just ran laps. 22 runs later I'm headed home. Stopping at the service plaza for Burger King or Quiznos
  17. No, I brought them but stuck with the old ones for today. I was going to switch halfway but figured for 175 feet of vertical why bother?
  18. Hasn't been bad at all so far today. 50 people max at a time lapping Tanenbaum. Seems like never more than a dozen or so on the trail at a time. Usually half that. No real lift lines except for right after two decent shut downs. Yeah, the vert sucks but the snow is nice and it's good to be back on the skis
  19. Just hanging out on the lift right now. Couple of morons forgot to get off at the top and it shut down. LOL. Been sitting here for about 10 minutes, they can't seem to get it restarted.
  20. Yeah, pretty empty so far on Tannenbaum. No features over here
  21. Blue's Black Friday deals are a bit underwhelming, but that explorer learn to ski deal might be the best deal I've ever seen on practically anything ever. If anyone knows any true first timers in the area, point them there. $179 for three lessons, including beginner lift and rentals, and then at the end you get a free season pass!?! That's sick, even if the pass is only valid after 2/20. The weekend 3-pack is overpriced at $189 in my opinion. That's only like $7 off a weekend ticket, and you have to pay up front and take on the risk of not using all 3. I know it's open- close vs 8 hr ticket, but most people won't need more than 8 hours anyway. The weekday 3 pack isn't bad at $99, $22 per day off the normal price of $55 on weekdays.

    Guns on

Well, since it doesn't look like they got to blow last night, (looks like guns still off on webcams) that thought is right out the window, lol. Guess Boulder is the Great White Hope for this weekend.

Check a couple threads down. They advertised that they were going to be open for at least two more weeks, then abruptly shut it down on like a Thursday. Just in time so weekend arrivals to the hotel couldn't cancel their rooms without an increased penalty. Straight DB move.
  24. Why can't all the hills just be straight with the patrons like Blue (usually) is?

Yeah, you're surely right. And they definitely showed a willingness to go full douche on the hotel patrons with the way they closed out last season. Saw NBC 10 posted about them blowing snow today then they shared it. Wonder if they contacted them.
