  1. Good looking berries. I need to get into some fruit. I love veggies, the wife not so much. We both love fruit though. I share with my mom and dad, my dad helps a ton in the garden. I do can some, mostly pickles and relishes, and various tomato stuffs, tomatoes, sauce, salsa. I tried beans two years ago but wasn't happy with them when I opened them, so j mostly blanch and freeze them, after vacuum sealing. If I get as many beans as I think I will this year, I'm going to make some silly beans, basically dill pickle recipe but use green beans. I use a lot of peppers when I have people over, especially jalapeños, for Atomic Buffalo Turds. I give a bunch of zucchini to a couple neighbors who like to make zucchini bread
  2. Rocks don't get tracked into the house, and stay cleaner in the box.
  3. Overall view of the garden from just inside the gate: 8 foot bed of cucumbers, hoping they do really well this year so that I can make some pickles. Some hot peppers and some mild jalapenos: Two rows of bell peppers, and you can see the end of the row of bush beans there on the left: The zucchini plant is doing very well. It's one of the only things that has produced so far, gave me the four zukes here: Tomato plants are also really putting on growth. Lots of green tomatoes, but only about a half dozen cherries ripe so far. Two year old got them all, lol: A shot of the back end of the garden. Added the rockbox this year for my buddy to play in while I am weeding or otherwise working. A bench to rest on and watch him play. There's a couple rows of mammoth sunflowers back there in various stages of growth, and that low lying green mess on the left side is a watermelon plant: Got going so late this year I haven't bothered with re-laying out the drip irrigation system. I guess I should, especially since I'm going away for a week in August and if it doesn't rain I'll come back to a bad scene.
  4. I got everything in very late this year. Just picked my first cucumbers of the year, got about a half dozen of them. There are a handful of jalapenos ready, and a couple of sweet bannana peppers too. Everything seems to be growing well, sunflowers are ranging from seedlings (went in last week to fill bare spots) to 2.5-3 ft high. Zucchini is big and bushy, with a few small fruits. Some green tomatoes. Everything else growing well but no fruits yet. I think I finally got ahead of the constant weeding. Maybe I'll grab a few pics tonight.
  5. The GPS app Waze usually alerts you when you are approaching a red light camera. Or even a speed camera, in states that have them
  6. Watch out for gators!
  7. DOH!! Forgot my usual bump to this thread. This deal is on again in about half hour, today at 9am: http://www.sweetdealscumulus.com/deal/allentown/blue-mountain-ski-resort-52016
  8. Bumping this one because Disney recently made changes to make one of my Fastpass tips moot. After using your first 3 Fastpasses you no longer have to go to the kiosk to make additional selections. You can make them right from your phone in the Disney app. You can even make one at another park if you have park hopper passes. Big time positive change.
  9. I hope they keep offering those half price $50 gift cards year after year. I've already accumulated enough to pay for my 2017-2018 pass, plus tubing passes for my wife and 2 year old. Time value of money is great, but it's tough to get 100% ROI
  10. Probably there or the Summer --> Land forum. I've been wanting to plant a fruit tree or two, but haven't gotten to it. I tried blueberries but my soil wasn't acidic enough and I lost them. I put a half dozen strawberry plants in their place, and they grow well but only produce very small berries. At least my 2 year old enjoys what the birds don't
  11. Mostly, all the area uphill of that arbor is free form, but I usually just throw watermelon and squash up there and give them the run of the area. Probably add a few beds up there this year though. It started out as all rows, no beds. Then I did beds down the right, and tried these fabric grow tubes on the left, but the week's got inside them and it was awful. I had to go to all beds just to be able to keep up with it. Can't see in the pic but there's a drip watering system on the whole thing too. That was the best thing I've done yet
  12. Just getting out into my patch for the first time today. Lots of work to do since I didn't touch it after the first frost last year. Before pic:
  13. Nice! Good info. Did you have more than one? I wonder how many before they would get tired of doing it, lol
  14. Yes, that's where the 6 months comes in. You have 6 months to exchange voucher for gift card, in person at the True Blue store according to the wording on the voucher
  15. Can't believe how aggressive they are being with the timing of these deals this spring. $50 gift card for $25 again tomorrow at 9 am: http://www.sweetdealscumulus.com/deal/allentown/blue-mountain-ski-resort-42016
  16. Yeah, keystonecollects.com. And if you moved and lived in more than one municipality you have to file for each one. Why can't they just have a spot to pure each township and the dates? PA taxes are such a pain in the ass.
  17. It's my day!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Port Deposit, right? That town floods all the dam time (pun intended.) Sometimes just from heavy rains and the river cresting, even without a major release from the dam. I lived in the county on the south side of the river for about 25 years.
  19. Herm Edwards spoke at an event for work today. Great speaker.
  20. I haven't, I usually get most of my starter plants from Lowes or the Depot, or from Dan Schantz or Suelkes down in Sellersville, since I work down there. A gardening topic could be very interesting. My plot is roughly 30' x 70' so I could contribute lots of pics though the season
  21. Yeah, but you don't need yours to turn. I keed, I keed.
  22. I grow a substantial vegetable garden but haven't even touched it yet this year. Last year I planted too early and lost so much to an April hard freeze. Might have even been early May
  23. Hell yeah, it was a great meat throw down
  24. That's what she sai — wait, no, that's not right . . .
