  1. I hope they keep offering those half price $50 gift cards year after year. I've already accumulated enough to pay for my 2017-2018 pass, plus tubing passes for my wife and 2 year old. Time value of money is great, but it's tough to get 100% ROI
  2. Probably there or the Summer --> Land forum. I've been wanting to plant a fruit tree or two, but haven't gotten to it. I tried blueberries but my soil wasn't acidic enough and I lost them. I put a half dozen strawberry plants in their place, and they grow well but only produce very small berries. At least my 2 year old enjoys what the birds don't
  3. Mostly, all the area uphill of that arbor is free form, but I usually just throw watermelon and squash up there and give them the run of the area. Probably add a few beds up there this year though. It started out as all rows, no beds. Then I did beds down the right, and tried these fabric grow tubes on the left, but the week's got inside them and it was awful. I had to go to all beds just to be able to keep up with it. Can't see in the pic but there's a drip watering system on the whole thing too. That was the best thing I've done yet
  4. Just getting out into my patch for the first time today. Lots of work to do since I didn't touch it after the first frost last year. Before pic:
  5. Nice! Good info. Did you have more than one? I wonder how many before they would get tired of doing it, lol
  6. Yes, that's where the 6 months comes in. You have 6 months to exchange voucher for gift card, in person at the True Blue store according to the wording on the voucher
  7. Can't believe how aggressive they are being with the timing of these deals this spring. $50 gift card for $25 again tomorrow at 9 am: http://www.sweetdealscumulus.com/deal/allentown/blue-mountain-ski-resort-42016
  8. Yeah, keystonecollects.com. And if you moved and lived in more than one municipality you have to file for each one. Why can't they just have a spot to pure each township and the dates? PA taxes are such a pain in the ass.
  9. It's my day!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Port Deposit, right? That town floods all the dam time (pun intended.) Sometimes just from heavy rains and the river cresting, even without a major release from the dam. I lived in the county on the south side of the river for about 25 years.
  11. Herm Edwards spoke at an event for work today. Great speaker.
  12. I haven't, I usually get most of my starter plants from Lowes or the Depot, or from Dan Schantz or Suelkes down in Sellersville, since I work down there. A gardening topic could be very interesting. My plot is roughly 30' x 70' so I could contribute lots of pics though the season
  13. Yeah, but you don't need yours to turn. I keed, I keed.
  14. I grow a substantial vegetable garden but haven't even touched it yet this year. Last year I planted too early and lost so much to an April hard freeze. Might have even been early May
  15. Hell yeah, it was a great meat throw down
  16. That's what she sai — wait, no, that's not right . . .
  17. I'll still ski some other places, probably on that Pocono card, but Blue IS only 20 minutes from my house, so for less than $300 for a pass it's the biggest no-brained ever.
  18. Hope some others scored! Picked up 4 again, 2/3 of the way to 17/18 pass!
  19. Yep. Plus about $10 or so, the Sweet Deals website charges like $2 processing for each one.
  20. This got an actual laugh out loud: "Later in the evening, a group of tele skiers from Vermont's Mad River Glen made a formal motion that anything over six inches, even if falling on bare rock, should be considered tits deep. Almost immediately the room filled with laughter"
  21. The one per visit is standard boilerplate sweet deals language. Don't be put off by it. Even if they held to it, it only applies to the voucher redemption, once the voucher is exchanged for a gift card it's a standard plastic gift card that they allow more than one of per transaction. They would have no way of knowing the gift card was from this deal. Same with the expiration. That applies to redeeming the vouchers for the gift cards. You have 6 months to do that, once they are gift cards there is no expiration. I personally redeemed 6 of these vouchers all at the same time for 3 $100 gift cards, although I am prepared to have to make multiple visits to exchange them if someone wanted to enforce the "1 per" language. I then used those 3 $100 gift cards the next weekend in one transaction for my season pass. I understand if people are skeptical, no worries. But for those with a little faith, you can save some major coin. And if not, less competition to snag them.
  22. I'm just glad they brought it back again so soon. If they keep this pace up I'll be able to accumulate enough to get a half price pass for season after next! EDIT: This isn't really normal pacing, is what I mean. Usually it's 2-3 months between, this is less than a month.
  23. Just an FYI, this deal is back again on Friday morning. Link below should be correct: http://www.sweetdealscumulus.com/deal/allentown/blue-mountain-resort-012016-3
  24. Big Boulder throws in the towel. Save for an attempt at a one day event in May apparently.
  25. It was definitely worth it. Almost didn't go, but the short price tag pushed me in. Glad I went. Really enjoyed it and got some more experience on something semi-steep and doing it in progressively cruddier conditions. Also, they are having a buy 1, get one for $1 sale in the shop. Ended up with a new jacket for myself and one for Pops (same damn one, we're gonna look even more like frickin' twins out there now) , and a couple balaclava as well. They were also doing an Easter weekend promo where you choose an egg and open it for a prize, most people were getting keychain or magnet but I lucked out and got a hoodie. Only tiny sizes left though so I gave it to my niece.
