Even Walter (older) enjoys it once he's out there. It's the getting to the part on the snow that's just a heaping helping of bullshit. I'm tired of being in such a bad mood when I'm headed out to do something I love. Maybe a year missing out will change his attitude. But yes, Grayson does seem to be more into it, and even though he also doesn't like getting up early (or going to bed on time the night before which would make all the difference) he cooperates at least. I really wish the student pass would qualify for the afternoon Adventure Camp, that would be the no brainer solution for us, the wife could bring them up and drop them to me when I'm done in the morning.

Maybe we'll get an email with the offer. I'm not sure if anything was posted their website about it, but they sent emails iirc. I haven't seen any emails today about passes being on sale yet

Same price as last year, nice. Gotta decide on the strategy for the kids this year though. Both no longer qualify for the child pass. Walter was such an asshole about waking up to go to Adventure Camp this year, I've sworn up and down he's out for next year. $1300 (pass plus camp) is a helluva price tag for someone who acts so miserable about it.

Was definitely a week off in picking the dates for our Steamboat trip. After about 10 days of at least some snow every day, looks like nothing in the forecast for next week. At least the coverage should be good!

That one I'm not sure about. Under the Buddy vouchers in my account there's two buttons, Transfer and Redeem. Redeem still sends me to the page with @saltyant face down in the snow with his feet in the air, and Transfer looks like you can only transfer it to people who are associated on your account: When you click on the drop down for Associate there is an "Add a new party member" option that lets you put in name and email and all, so I imagine you could add them, then transfer to them, and they would get an email telling them they had the voucher and could then redeem it. Probably have to do it in person tho (the redeem) since that button is broken. But at that point, you wouldn't need to be with them.

In my passholder survey I railed against that intersection a bit. I suggested that in the short term they should pull down the building and terrace Burma into the hillside above the learning area, pull out a small amount of trees and carry it over to Barb's Way. Not real great though, because even if they put up the large amount of fencing needed between shuttle and the new terraced area, the chucklheads that ski Blue will still crash the netting and fall down it. On busy weekend days where it's crazy crowded (and lower Sidewinder isn't closed) they could close down the last bit of Lazy Mile and force Lazy skiers to Lower SW or Falls to help ease the three way intersection. But that probably just shifts the issue to the bit at the bottom of Sidewinder. The rumored move of tubing leading to the move of learning area leading to the continuation of trails down that way really is the answer, but it's certainly not short term.

Maybe the owners held onto the land but sold the business? Would seem like a terrible deal for the buyers, but you never know. That would explain not being able to find a land transfer record. Doesn't help keep the secret tho.

IIRC, last year early bird was $699, so I would go with $749 but since that's already taken, I'll go with $729. Can't see them going down in price after delivering a pretty great season, and inflation and all.

I didn't mind the conditions for the 8-9 runs we made, though they were definitely getting worse at the end. The slopes felt more crowded than the lines by quitting time strangely. Food was good, even given the cheap frozen steak used for the cheesesteaks and the slow wing production. Next time wings are on the menu it'll be with a bigger pot, either on the Coleman still or bring the big burner. Something to cook more than 6 at once. We didn't even get into the burgers or bottom round steak.

The quad and the Main St chair are currently running (would assume the OG6 is as well but can't see it on the cams). I guess they're running them to avoid icing issues. Good on ya, Blue! Edit: looked again and can make out chairs moving through the house on the OG6, so running all three

If conditions aren't good tomorrow, at least we'll have some food in the lot!

Definitely tomorrow. Probably Camelback on Sunday but we'll see. Skipping the tailgate this weekend. I know it's forecast to be a bit warmer tomorrow morning than the rest of this week has been, but gonna skip it just in case. Propane grilling in single digits can be a real PITA

I would have redeemed one of my buddy passes for myself. Word is they get season pass gate access, so should have worked for first tracks too

When I went to activate mine at the end of November they told me they couldn't put entitlements on my Blue pass and had.to issue me one of their cards. They had to go look me up manually too, because it was a peak to peak paid for at Blue so wasn't in their system Of course, I haven't used it yet, so chances are mine won't work either

I'm thinking U shape under the blade, so the round sits on the ground and bottom of the blade sits in the U. Wire in one hole, up and over the blade, to the other hole, on each end. Allows the blade to glide on the gravel instead of digging it up
