Picked up the skis today. The lady who helped me made it seem like there was some internal doubt they would make Friday. One of the other employees said something like “You coming out Friday?” And I said yes, then the lady who was handling my skis said something like “We’ll see, they’re still hopeful but there’s a lot of snow to make.” No trying to stomp the stoke, just reporting the convo. I’m confident they’ll make it

Hmmm. This is very interesting. we could set up a rubric like the one they use for one of the rollercoaster ranking polls I used to give a shit about. In that one coasters gained points only by being ranked above other coasters by people who had ridden both. It was considered the most accurate and well respected poll because that system meant that coasters that were excellent but hadn’t had as many riders would rank generally where they deserved instead of it being a straight popularity contest

Dropped off my and Pops skis for a wax n edge, and snapped a couple. Mini -whales on valley school. Most of the valley snow is the base near the lift. Could see some snow up on the look out below intersection of Paradise and Stupid Name.

Saw it last night with Pops and ran into the coupe Mute there as well. The film itself was enjoyable. I probably won’t go again. I figured at the very least get an Elk voucher out of it, but the date restrictions essentially make it a $10 off midweek coupon. There was no real atmosphere to speak of. Next year we should just stream a WM movie at Jeff’s backyard fete.

I turn the heat off every morning before I leave for work. At some point my wife turns it back on after she gets home. I sometimes catch that it’s on and turn it off again at night, but usually fall asleep before she does. I need to lock the thermostat again

Last year when it was free I asked at the tubing window if the free pass for my 5 year old and the $179 pass for my 7 year old included tubing, and was told that all season passes did. I want to say that at least one of their passes then didn’t open the RF gate but there was no attendant at the gate and I just had him go around it. I don’t think they know their own rules. They told me that they couldn’t turn 6 before Jan 15th, but I told them that the website said otherwise and they checked with someone and sold it to me. Yeah, I’m not sure if it’s supposed to. I never found any language about it on the site last year, so I asked. After the window attendant told me it did, I didn’t feel bad having him bypass the gate once on the snow. I was willing to pay for a ticket for him. I wasn’t willing to walk back around to the automated kiosk after waiting in line because the employee was wrong. That would be interesting to know about. In the past the language was clear about the free ticket for the day or free season pass. Interested to hear what their response to a day ticket inquiry is

Their system was down so I couldn’t buy it ahead online, so waited at Guest Service. She asked when he turned 6 and I said next month, and she said that because they wouldn’t be open before his 6th birthday he couldn’t get a child pass. I told her that the website just said that it had to be processed by showing up at Guest Services with his birth certificate prior to his birthday. Then she said that their policy was age on Jan 15 to determine eligibility. I repeated what the website had said when it was working. She chatted with someone and processed it and it took 3 minutes after that.
