  1. I think a light ski would work well for the way you make your turns. I think it’s not necessarily the weight you’re looking for but a more stable base underfoot, more width and stability to keep going where you want them to when you encounter chop and not go off on their own. You can get that in a lighter ski. If others here contradict me on that, listen to them. I only know as much as what I’ve skied which is far less than most. I’d tell you to give the Soul 7 a try but I think it’s wider than you want at 106. You should have jumped on my demo pair last year in Steamboat.
  2. It was a slow weekend here with the rain.
  3. I might sound like a Rossi fanboy, but if they have it and you have an extra selection, I think you would like the Sky 7. Stable underfoot thanks to carbon alloy and really light with a low swing weight which I think suits your current skiing style. 98mm underfoot with carbon for a good base in the chop, and wide enough for an occasional powder ride. If you try them definitely size up because they ski short.
  4. I’m so confused
  5. Lol, I realize. What I really want to know is if he wore his skis into the steakhouse or requested a table for two and gave them the seat opposite
  6. Wait, wilderness? I thought he was just on the other side of town.
  7. Snow was awesome today. I would have been pissed at myself if I skied yesterday morning in the rain and missed today’s pre-rain window. Skied 8 beautiful rain free runs plus two in the light stuff once it started. Run of the day was definitely Switchback, also enjoyed Sidewinder more than average. Main Street was pretty variable by the time we got on it, Lower worse than Upler but skiers left was decent. Good time in the lot, ez up was clutch and I’m glad those burgers didn’t suck since they were just a premade frozen patty. And @GrilledSteezeSandwichhelmets were only on until the ez up went up and grill started warming up, and had a dry spot to deboot. Next session should be Tuesday night, for Minime’s first trip down Paradise.
  8. That didn’t answer the question.
  9. Didn’t realize that under 6 passes also got free tubing!
  10. Been hitting up mostly Avis the past few years, love their app. As soon as the plane lands I pull it up and see what they have assigned me, then click to change it and see what else is available. If I don’t like any of them I check again a couple times on the way to get bags. Accept something when I see what I like. Go right to car, scan QR code at the gate and drive away. I used National for agile a few years ago. Never made it to Executive but got to the base tier that lets you pick from the Emerald Aisle so that was kind of cool. Once walked back through MCO to the other side to see if they had anything better. 😂 I use Alamo quite a bit too since we go to Disney so much and they basically own the Orlando market.
  11. Lock one up elsewhere for 30 min later and cancel it if National comes thru
  12. Pops drove, so the big red truck is absent. Had a blast. Soaked like a drowned rat. Would’ve kept skiing but Pops was done and I didn’t drive.
  13. This is good news. It means Blue cares about their season passholders almost as much at Camelback cares about theirs.
  14. Damn. I shoulda stayed.
  15. Have to. You can always relax if COVID pulls a late stage Swine Flu exit. But if you promote no restrictions and then have to implement them, that’s a bad look.
  16. If there’s one thing you can trust implicitly to be without bias, 100 percent accurate and fair, it’s internet reviews.
  17. For me it was not doing the fat guy shuffle to a bench with my shoes in one hand, belt in the other, dragging a carryon trying to keep my pants from falling down.
  18. Yeah, I knew it wasn’t much more, but living 2 miles from ABE and then having that special signup when they brought Pre there is what made me choose Pre. Now I’ll probably renew Pre until I think I might go out of country, since I think I can just renew online and pay for the next 5 years with no effort.
  19. Yeah, it’s a pretty effective way to get people to realize the value
  20. It made total sense to me even before ski trip flights were on my radar since we go to Disney so much. Whenever anyone asks me if it’s worth it I tell them if you fly once a year average it’s a no brainer. I say “It’s $85 for 5 years. That’s $19 a year. If you fly once, it’s $10 each way. If someone walked up to you and said you could hand them a $10 bill to get in this shorter line, leave your shoes on, belt on, light jacket on, laptop in bag, liquids in bag and go thru the metal detector instead of the hands up, don’t shoot machine, would you spend the ten?” My answer was every time, so it was a no brainer.
  21. When I got Pre it didn’t seem worth it to do Global Entry, I never leave the country and that’s not likely to change anytime soon. I signed up for Pre when they had the special sign up drive at ABE so it made it super easy
  22. On the topic of passports, there’s a big backlog so anyone who’s expires soon, get on it early. Mine expires next spring so I’ll probably send it in for renewal soon. I also need to check on the renewal of my PreCheck. That should be coming up soon too
  23. Like many others, I plan to pick up helmet stickers wherever possible when I hit new mountains.
  24. Actually they will, minus the ease part. One of my Jeopardy players lost her purse at Disney two years ago and was able to fly back without ID. The TSA website recommended showing up at the airport as far in advance of your flight as possible if it happens to you. She was with security for like 3 hours, no one allowed to go with her. I didn’t ask what all she had to fill out or what they verified because she was really annoying and I didn’t want to get her started. 😂 Nothing wrong with flying with passport domestically though. Used mine on this past trip, mostly because my DL had expired and renewal hadn’t come, didn’t feel like dealing with the potential question about the expiration and showing the temporary paper printout. Neither the Southwest nor TSA agents batted an eye.
  25. That was quick today. There were literally hundreds of slots when I locked up Pops right before posting. For anyone those appointments help, it looks like they load them every Friday at 8 (ish, was about 805 today) for the next weeks clinics. They post on Facebook if they are or aren’t going to.
