  1. I'll piss in the Cheerios. It also allows them to cut off the guns earlier than they might have in the past to save money -- sorry, be most efficient -- and get (and then keep) each trail at the minimum depth they think it needs to be skiable. A lot less "blow it deep, spread it out" than in the past. Which is great if it allows them to turn on more guns elsewhere. But is less snow on the mountain overall if they target certain trails and then target thin spots on those trails and aren't maxing capacity. I would say Blue wouldn't do it that way. But KSL would.
  2. The best part about this: There have been multiple comments all over social media, about how Blue should have known how bad it was going to be, how crazy because they sold out of tickets so they knew how many people would be there. And that's all correct, they should have known based on the number sold, etc, and they should have done more to have the lifts working. They knew we got freezing rain, they should have started on the lifts earlier. They should have started on the OG6 WAY before they did, they should have been trying to get the 6 and the quad up at the same time, whichever one comes up first it's still a win. But the best part is, they didn't really sell out of tickets. They just stopped selling tickets and marked them sold out. The sold out post went out not long after this screenshot timestamp. They didn't sell 629 tickets at $165 each in 30 minutes and sell out. So at 9:15, with one lift working, hordes of people standing in line, they still had every intention of trying to pack more people onto the hill. Thankfully someone made one of the few intelligent decisions Blue made yesterday and decided to shut that down. But it shows how purely reactive every move they make these days seems to be. It's almost like they got rid of anyone who knew what they were doing.
  3. Is that the drone video one? I noticed there wasn't even a comment button or indicator with number of comments below that one
  4. Nice work if you can get it.
  5. That wasn't referring to conditions, it was onomatopoeia to describe the kick in the teeth everyone was in for with lift operations.
  6. Got there a bit later than I wanted, delayed by getting everything loaded and arranged for the tailgate. Couldn't do it last night with the snow since I don't have a bed cover anymore. Got to the lot about 750 and booted amd at the snow by about 810. Line for the super 6 was already insane, at least halfway to the OG 6 with the intermittent stopping and the quad not spinning. Pops and I talked about what we wanted to do. Noticed that the quad started moving slowly then stopped, but I figured that meant they were working on it and hoped it would open soon. Between the long line, the zoo we could see on Main St already, and the knowledge that unless they hiked no one would have gotten Paradise yet, we decided to go wait it out. That ended up being a *much* longer wait than I would have ever expected, and we ended up waiting about an hour and 20 minutes or so for it to open about 940. We realized pretty quickly we were pot committed as the super 6 line ballooned behind us. There was no way I was getting in that line, so it was either wait it out for one really nice Paradise run, or leave. When it finally opened we were on about the 5th chair or so (with Nastar Glen) that wasn't the race coaches who got to line up inside before they opened the gates. They all went right to Coming Soon to work on setting up for their training, so to me no big deal letting them in first. They'll run was great, some fresh on top of the fresh cord. Felt like about 3-4 inches. Easily run of the year so far for me. Got down to the bottom and put the skis back in the locker and headed to the lot to cook. Actually wondered while standing around at the quad if we would get out there and find out everyone had left to do something better with their day because of the shit show, but most were still hanging around. Pops headed right out, knee is bugging him and he wanted to get his snow removal done. Wasn't actually feeling the tailgate and debated just heading out, but ended up setting it up and had a reasonably good time.
  7. Intending to try to be there for first chair . . . ish Depends on how long it takes to load the griddle amd supplies in the morning.
  8. Changing to sleet in Northampton. I know cause I'm out there shoveling in it. Got at least an inch since my last post. Measured 6+ in my side yard in an untouched area.
  9. Unscientific but seemed like about 3 inches of all snow here at home too when I just went out to get the chairs out of the truck that I forgot were in there
  10. Is the the bit above Frontier Alley, the learing area? If so, that's were the new terrain park is going, I guess, lol
  11. Hope they make enough snow last night and tonight to widen lower Paradise significantly, with all that race kid traffic ripping down it after they're all concentrated on Coming Soon.
  12. Some guns back on already, so that's nice. Hopefully they can get some stuff laid down this week.
  13. Got there late with the boys for their forst go of the year, went to get on the super six and Thing 1's pass wouldn't scan. Sent Pops and Thing 2 on ahead, they were already through the gates and went in to have it fixed. Took about 15 minutes with about 4 parties in front of us so wasn't too bad. It took the rep like 8 tries to get it working though, so I was sure mine wouldn't be working when we got back out though, since we have the same name all all, I expected so.e sort of fuckery but it was good. Went up and spotted Pops gettin on the Vista lift as we went up so waited for them at the top. Decided to lap Vista a bit instead of running Burma, so the boys could get some turns in at least. Did thst like 3 times and then took them over to the Summit school carpet where they ran laps for 45 minutes or so while we sat and watched and had a drink. Skied down Burma to get back down to the lot, definitely sugar piles all over the place, but coverage was at least there even in the corners. And it wasn't toooo crowded 🙄: 20231230_111927.mp4 Took the long way home and took them to McDougal's in Walnutport to make up for such a crappy first day and that one still has a PlayPlace so all in all a pretty good day for them. Likely out on tomorrow, so Happy New Year all!
  14. Might bring the boys up tomorrow just with the goal of running some Vista laps. Their Adventure camp starts next weekend and I haven't gotten them out yet
  15. Think about how many more would be sold and how much more the slopes would suck tomorrow if they were $39.
  16. Some decent min-whales (manatees?) on Vista on the Slopeside Cam. Doesn't look like the Valley fans or the ones on tubing were quite that efficient
  17. Sun' goin', guns blowing! WTGAI Blue!
  18. Probably just leftovers from the overnight snowfall. There was almost that much on my lawn first thing this morning
  19. Those coverage pics are depressing. Likely sit this weekend out.
  20. That’s not terrible, King Tut and Hump from the top. Surprised some of the other stuff isn’t on the list
  21. Interesting that they removed from the map the trail next to Vista (Pioneer Pass) that you couldn’t really access anymore and added Pioneer Park to the map, at the top of the kids learning area
  22. Sucks that they make you park in Lot 3 as passholders. Lot 8 is where I always liked to park when I go there.
  23. From this image from the video, it looks like they didn't turn em on Upper Main at all. Assuming not old footage
  24. Based on the latest drone footage they posted a few hours ago, I would day Paradise and Coming Soon are a lock, unless it's a lot thinner than it looks. Obviously hard to judge depth from a drone flyover. It looks like Upper Main didn't get the love. Maybe they needed the water for the sticks on tubing 3.
  25. They're still rocking some of the stick guns too. On the tubing cam you can see the sticks going on the far slope, and you can see that there's snow being made up on Paradise, at the top of the cam. Not sure if they have a fan or two at the Paradise/DW intersection that might be coming from though . . .
