Sausage Sunday would never migrate to Camelback: 1) they don’t allow tailgating. It’s one of the reasons they suck. 2) the Value Pass isn’t good before 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays until March. I would definitely still get a Blue Pass. I would only (maybe) get a value pass if I can verify two things: the weekends after March 1 rule is good this year as well, and that the $100 gift card I have that says Camelback Lodge could be used towards it. I suspect it can’t, and can only be used at the Lodge (hotel.)If so, no chance I would buy the pass. But if it is good, $100 off, factor in the $42 it would cost me to ski Monday, we’re down to $158. Wouldn’t mind one more visit up there this year, would cost me ~$50, down to $108 for a value pass (over possible/probable cash outlay this year) so would seriously consider it. Re: the weather thing, I can’t see is doing a NY mountain though I wouldn’t mind doing one. We’re not gonna drive up the night before, so it’s not that attractive a proposition. It will almost surely be Camelback or Montage for us

We’re most likely going to end up at Camelback on Monday. I might even buy a value pass. Have to do some research

Manning’s is absolute money. They sometimes have a strawberry shortcake ice cream that is great.

PASR Does Jackson: Round 2 (ding ding ding)

Wow! A line at ABE?! -
Tickets are now advertised at $42 and no demos for what they are now calling customer appreciation day instead of demo day. Since we already off work, Pops and I are likely either still going or heading to Montage on Monday. $30 ticket at Montage. Includes rental and even a group lesson. Might try snowboarding

At least Pops finally got to hit his mug for the Mug Club.

No. They didn’t have either menu item we tried to order.

Sigh. I had hoped they had reconsidered Name That Tune. Also the last round was a speed round. Single question for which the answer is a number. Closest without going over got 3 points, then 2, then 1. Speed breaks ties. This is stupid.

A return to Trivia Tuesday tonight! A terrible round one . . . Should have brought the skis

They posted this today, I just had to stir them up with the comment below: “EPIC” conditions?!? Does that mean that the rumors of Vail Resorts buying Camelback are true?
-
Nah, water. Number one tip I got about skiing out west was that you can’t hydrate too much, so I figured it would be a good investment. Was nice having water anytime I wanted it.

I don’t know about all this jibber jabber, but you should give those sticks a go. -
I skied with a Camelbak in Steamboat last year. It was delightful.

This is a great plan.

I think something like these would serve you well in cruddy conditions. Wider and stiffer than your RTMs, help you blast through it. Price is right because Law is a mensch. Got nothing to lose by trying them out. -
The valet at Parking Spot was so awesome. Pull into the garage, they unload your bags and the shuttle is right there in the garage with you. Then they parked your car for you. Took you to the airport. On the way back, call them when you land so they pull your car in. Get your bags and jump on the Parking Spot shuttle. First stop is in the valet garage, jump out and right into your cleaned off, warmed up car. RIP, Parking Spot valet service. Not sure if whoever bought them kept the service, but I can't vouch if they did/

The parking spot used to be my go to, but they sold the lot with valet and that’s what I used to use. Last time I parked I used Winner. Them dropping you at the airport and driving your car back is awesome, don’t have to transfer bags into shuttle and can load them right into your car on the return. I paid the extra $20 or whatever it was to leave their guy at the airport on the return trip, our flight landed at like 1230 am and with two toddlers I wasn’t trying to delay the hour ride home another 20-40 minutes.

I actually liked the RTMs that I demo’d At Blue a couple years ago, but they were the 86. What are these Law, 88s? Salty, you really ought to try them. I wasn’t making fun. -

Are they mounted? What’s the BSL on the mount if so? I feel like @saltyant needs to give these a rip . . . -
That’s why they’re so cheap!!! 😂😂

Not parting with any of my stock of Blue giftcards, but I'll happily share when I see any deals on them. Wouldn't expect any until Black Friday though, they seem to be out of the Sweet Deals game.

I have some Firehouse Subs gift certificates that are only good the Schoenersville Rd location that I'll sell for 10 cents on the dollar. I think I have like $50 worth.

THIS. My first reply was very civil, pointing out why his discount was too shallow, and then he insulted me. Then I tried to explain ( a little less so, but still pretty civilly) why his reasoning was unlikely to result in success, in particular his ridiculous ascertations regarding taxes. He then decided to insult me again, so I decided to have fun. No regerts.

I heard the statue would be done by now but it’s all being held up by the Sierra Club cause they are afraid they might have to look at TP4 from the Appalachian Trail if the statue sticks up above the tree line.

This advertisement by Camelback doesn't surprise me in the least. They have a history of misleading and outright lying to their own clientele. At least they've not done the unforgivable and used a stock photo from another mountain on their website.
