The high banks in Basilisk will never hold fresh snow. It’s a total piece of shit of a trail

Camelback only groomed the greens and half the blues. Most of you would love it but for me it takes the blacks completely out of play. Salty has a video of me coming down Rocket like a ra-tard that he’ll probably post later. Salty, after we parted ways Pops and I found all the trails under the Glen lift have awesome conditions. We’ve been lapping it since. Eating burgers right now then headed out for some more. Tacos to wait for the ride out.

That's Camelback for you! We're running late, ETA 910. Is CBK lodge open?

3/3/19....sausage Sunday..nice weather.

Very good snow today, enjoyed everything but lower Main Street. I swear that Upper and Lower Main must be groomed by two different people. How can Upper be sooo good and Lower so bad? And where this the find those ice balls after the snow was so good yesterday? Tough to complain much about that though, when everything else was so good. Just have to be ready to check it up heading into Lower Main, no matter how good it was up top. Got on the snow about 8:15, not sure if anyone was able to sneak into Razors or NMDW but all three were closed when we made it to the top. Started with a run down Switchback and it was smooth cord with only a few tracks. A great run down and back up for a Sidewinder lap. We’ve started trying to hit Sidewinder pretty early before the bottom gets destroyed by traffic checking up for the Lazy intersection. Had planned on doing Lower Sidewinder but ran into some super slow traffic towards the bottom, so when they dropped into Lower I bailed over to Falls instead. Pops didn’t get the memo and continued into Lower, I watched from Falls and dropped in to meet him on Homestretch. Another great run and it was back up to complete the blues with a Lazy lap. Great snow again, had a small ventral ridge groomed in about halfway down, was fun when I found that by accident, but no big deal. Took Lower Sidewinder that time and back to the six pack where we found the crowd was big enough for a liftie out grouping people together, but none on scene yet. This led to a couple of little kids trying to simultaneously force their way through the crowd to the front (to the point where one of them had their skis on top of my dad’s tips) while turning to motion to their friends to come join them. Then at the load, three snowboarders went out together from the left chute in front of us to join the four skiers coming out of the other two. Now, this might be fine in a few years after Vail puts in the 8 person lift, but it wasn’t gonna end well today. I started yelling “Too many, too many, one of you had to stay back!” and luckily one of them heard and scooted back in time to avoid a chair shutdown. Pops and I scooted out to ride with the lone boarder since no one from the other two chutes moved out. Actually had a nice chat on the ride up. We decided to take a Burma chair ride to hit Widowmaker and give the six pack line a chance to normalize with a liftie, so took Main down and discovered the variable grooming. The top was so good though. Up Burma to Widowmaker and it was so good we had to rip it three times with Vista chair rides between. Good opportunity for a Mikes Harder on the lift. Back in the valley we opted for a quad ride, where there was no liftie but the wait was pretty short. Took another Switchback run and stopped halfway down to help a kiddo get his skis back on and underway so his dad could stop skating 50yards uphill. Finished the run and headed up the 6. Liftie out, little wait. On the way up we discussed another Lazy run, but I decided to run Sidewinder down to the cut over to Lazy before the last bit, and arrived there the same time as Pops who must have been going balls out to get there just before me. Headed down and took the six again for another Switchback and made it down without a stop that time. It was almost time to head out and start grilling, the snow was just too good though and we needed one more. Decided on the quad and on the way up noticed that NMDW and Razors had opened, so we decided to run Nightweaver. But once we got to the drop in I couldn’t turn down Razors so I ran that while Pops ran nightweaver. Met up at the bottom and headed out to the lot. After a fun sausage Sunday (highlight was the pulled pork flatbreads; the Sam’s Choice sausages from Wal Mart were pretty tasty too) my wife showed up with the boys and we took my 5 year old over for his first timer lesson with Niko. He did well and had fun but struggles to even make a wedge, so we’ll have to work on that. He still wanted to ski so we drove up to the summit and make a few more runs down the school hill up there. Put his little backpack on him and thought I would use the leash deals to send him down ahead of me and control his speed that way, but found it was easier to just grab the straps of the pack and ski down with him between my skis. Yeah, he wasn’t really doing or learning anything, but just getting him the feeling of going downhill and excited to be on skis I’m counting as a win. -
My favorite bloody is at Cowfish at Citywalk at Universal Orlando. Garnishes include a celery stalk, pickle spear, olive, pickled okra, a slider, and a hollowed out meat stick straw.

I did an install years ago at a motel that had a flyer posted behind the desk for employees that listed helpful phrases in English and the Spanish translation. The first one on the list was "How many hours?" There was also a sign posted for public view that said "No refunds after 15 minutes." I made sure not to touch the beds.

Gonna be a good day at the Camel on Monday

From the latest maps, it looks like Blue, Camelback and others nearby have the best chance for all snow. We were briefly toying with the idea of Bellayre or Windham, but sticking with Camelback. TicketsAtWork for the same $42 without having to go to Buckman’s

Tell it to the veggie burger.

Incorrect.

If you wanted 10 percent off gift cards you could have bought them on Black Friday. All you wanted. From Blue. And have a guarentee that they were worth what you paid, and no one wrote the numbers down to use before you got a chance to.

I love veggies. But a veggie burger is an abomination onto man. was it one of those Beyond Meat burgers? I’ve heard good things about them from a few vegetarian friends. I’d never order one, but if someone tore me off a chunk I’d try one.

Way to ruin a great day . . .

Can I still say Steeze has Asperders? -
2:28...ending the month with nice skiing.

Switchback was my favorite run again tonight. I did get my first Razors run of the season, and it was nice -
Sausage Sunday would never migrate to Camelback: 1) they don’t allow tailgating. It’s one of the reasons they suck. 2) the Value Pass isn’t good before 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays until March. I would definitely still get a Blue Pass. I would only (maybe) get a value pass if I can verify two things: the weekends after March 1 rule is good this year as well, and that the $100 gift card I have that says Camelback Lodge could be used towards it. I suspect it can’t, and can only be used at the Lodge (hotel.)If so, no chance I would buy the pass. But if it is good, $100 off, factor in the $42 it would cost me to ski Monday, we’re down to $158. Wouldn’t mind one more visit up there this year, would cost me ~$50, down to $108 for a value pass (over possible/probable cash outlay this year) so would seriously consider it. Re: the weather thing, I can’t see is doing a NY mountain though I wouldn’t mind doing one. We’re not gonna drive up the night before, so it’s not that attractive a proposition. It will almost surely be Camelback or Montage for us
-
We’re most likely going to end up at Camelback on Monday. I might even buy a value pass. Have to do some research

Manning’s is absolute money. They sometimes have a strawberry shortcake ice cream that is great.

PASR Does Jackson: Round 2 (ding ding ding)

Wow! A line at ABE?! -
Tickets are now advertised at $42 and no demos for what they are now calling customer appreciation day instead of demo day. Since we already off work, Pops and I are likely either still going or heading to Montage on Monday. $30 ticket at Montage. Includes rental and even a group lesson. Might try snowboarding

At least Pops finally got to hit his mug for the Mug Club.
-
No. They didn’t have either menu item we tried to order.

Sigh. I had hoped they had reconsidered Name That Tune. Also the last round was a speed round. Single question for which the answer is a number. Closest without going over got 3 points, then 2, then 1. Speed breaks ties. This is stupid.

A return to Trivia Tuesday tonight! A terrible round one . . . Should have brought the skis

They posted this today, I just had to stir them up with the comment below: “EPIC” conditions?!? Does that mean that the rumors of Vail Resorts buying Camelback are true?
