Opening Day - Snovember 16th, 2018
enjoralas replied to toast21602's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
Even just adding that would be clutch if it’s to the top, because it would open a third lift. -
I can't wait to call them out on it. Freshly cut trail my ass, pretty sure that pass thru was always there, they just had a fence up across it

I wasn't talking about Blue. You said "future ski area openings." I don't think its beyond reason to think that the 10+ inches of snow that fell at Montage, laying on top of snow they already made when Blue didn't, will help that snow survive until they can blow again leading to an opening earlier than otherwise

Little inside joke nod . . .

Both of them made snow every chance they could while Blue was sitting on their fans, and both got more snow from Tursday's storm. I have family in Scranton that said they got 11 inches, haven't fact checked that. Camel was really working the guns hard from what I saw on the webcams the other day. Not sure where they laid snow, but if I were them i would focus on Nile Mile, cliffhanger, Sunbowl, maybe Pocono raceway, and maybe Pharaoh/Bactrian if they want to open them as regular trails before making more snow to convert to park. That would let them focus on areas near the hotel to sell that sucker out, and areas with a grass base instead of the pavement of the waterpark up top. It would give them trails for all levels, they could give lessons on one half of Sunbowl, or could blow the lesson area up top if they wanted, since they would still have to open facilities up there for rentals. But tubing will probably be open . . .

Leaving now. 10 Tannebaum laps in about 1:50. Well, 9 on Tannebaum and one on the closed Love Park, at least the part accessible from the lift serving Tannebaum. Hit our “waiting in line” limit. Fun to be back on the snow.

Someone on that comment string said they removed Julius Caesar to put in a parking lot for the new amenities up top. If so, new trail is probably just a replacement slightly down the hilk

There was a tractor trailer curbed near the top southbound, before the second lane. Traffic backed up down into 5 points, where geniuses were sitting in the middle of the intersection, often for 2-4 light cycles, crushing traffic in all directions. And yes, so many people heading uphill with no concept of needing to keep momentum going

There is in Bethlehem

Lol, perhaps that was optimistic. Been an hour and GPS still says 30 minutes. I’m assuming that’s at least an hour. Haven’t moved much in 10 minutes. No excuse for the condition of 378 over the mountain

Would have stayed over in Cherry Hill, but it’s son’s 3rd birthday. Have to get home. only one hour to go!

Will Likely be sliding down Tannenbaum repeatedly starting at 10 am Saturday, as long as it opens. Shouldn't this be in the Blue Forum?

There main restaurant crushes Slopeside for layout and ambience.

Wishing I had dropped the planks off at Blue a couple weeks ago for a tune

Just went out and harvested the sweet potatoes

Yeah, I usually go if it looks like there's a good chance they'll have something open without features. Not interested in the bonkyard, but even Tannenbaum is enough to make me drive up and get back on the snow
-
Absolutely what they should do. Blow the Indoor waterpark lift pod, as well as Sunbowl for beginners and early season lessons. They just don't seem to care to.

I don’t think they will ever push to open the mountain. I think the hotel has actually made that even more so. My prediction is that they will open tubing first again this year. It’s right outside the hotel, and they can sell it to the hotel guests. They had a guess the mountain opening date or something on their Facebook a little bit ago. My guess was “about a week after the tubing hill.” They gave it a like.

Had planned on hitting BaconFest today but ended up with too much to get done around the house before I head out of town for work in the morning. Wanted to get the garage cleaned up enough so the wife can park inside again.

Post by them on their Facebook page. Pharaoh will host a jump line

Post on Camel’s Facebook says top to bottom park is replacing Pharaoh to Bactrian. Not sure if that means eliminating some or all of the parks in the Glen area. No further mention of Scarab. Wonder if it’s just one of the old park runs renamed
