WHERE is the best place to ski if you don't drive
enjoralas replied to Robert2's topic in General Chat
Without a crash. You put some respect on that stat. -
God love 'em, the snow cone machine is still out there spittin' like @GrilledSteezeSandwich when the karaoke machine comes out. https://springmountainadventures.com/webcam/

Hope they get those chairs off the new 6 and under cover on the storage rails soon so they don't get all iced up in the blizzard!
-
Preseason gathering this Saturday instead? lol
-
-
I did. Was going to respond "Too Soon." But then I didn't.
-
Certainly appears that way. I don't remember LEDs on Burma last year

Disc golf hole has been removed from Vista. Just sayin.
-
Firepits and chairs are gone from the snow edge and ski rack area at the Summit. The stage remains on tubing though
-
Noticed they have a portable fan gun laying in wait for extra coverage at the intersection of Main St and Burma, good to see they are least preparing and have snowmaking on the radar.
-
Pops and I went up last weekend and stashed stuff in the seasonal locker. Considering they blow snow on tubing about as early as anywhere, I'd say as long as that stage is still there on the cam they don't have any real thoughts about snowmaking. There's also still a disc golf hole on the middle of Vista 🤣

The overnight lows Sat - Mon look nice, too bad it warms up again after instead of continuing or getting colder . . .

Blinky light on the fan gun by the Waffle Cabin

Pops and I have tickets for the Saturday night showing. Buckman's was sold out of the Friday night so I just went with Sat
-
Does not apply to Root Friday. It's Gaper Fest extraordinaire. And it's phenomenal.

You give them too much credit. They would open with only the Ditch on Coming Soon and the 6pack. Coin flip on which 6pack, too
-
Got two here as well, one for me and one for the older Boy. Grayson was able to get that youth pass this year after paying full freight last year, so none for him. But of course, saved WAY more than $50 so no conplaints

First gen Intamin free fall. Nice.

Pops and I attempted to go for the apres ski buffet one time last year. We were there, but the apres-ski buffet was not. The food was okay, but the service was horrendously slow. As my only visit, I recognize that could likely be a one-off and would go back if with people that wanted to go there.

Probably going to go to a showing at NCC with Pops. Should have picked up tickets when I was at Buckmans today picking up the seasonal rentals for the offspring
-
I should be able to make whenever. If we're still going to do tomorrow night I can bring a couple of ez ups
-
Stopped by the Buckman's in Whitehall for the tent sale yesterday. Only picked up a couple of used boot bags for the boys crap and a good condition used pair of pants for the older boy. Pops got new boots from the clearance sale. Picked up a flyer about their pre-season tune up sale, seems like a good deal, figured I'd pass it along

I mean, they might as well give it a shot. Remember that Camelback tried something similar a couple years ago with their $3k Pocono Premier memberships.

Yeah, I was trying to see a way where you could even combine this for early in the season with picking up the Blue pass when they put it on sale to ski the rest of the season and all the next. If that could work, it could be a nice play for someone like Pops and I that are on an every other year out west trip cadence. But 7 visits just isn't enough for someone that wants to ski every weekend day at Blue. Or even splitting between Blue and Camel. There's 18 weekend days between December and January, so gotta buy 4 right there. Historically you still gotta buy tickets for most of February, and then any midweek days I'd want to go. Doesn't take long to cost more than a Blue pass + a 4 day ticket to whatever resort we go to out west. Maybe if I started trading brisket for buddy passes I could make the math work, lol
