  1. Sunday night special is a pretty good deal at $25 from 4-9 too.
  2. I didn't give you shit for preferring the crap Camelback had to offer over the crap Blue had to offer, I gave you shit for claiming it was an overall better skiing experience, which was absurd, particularly since at the time we were talking about 15 minute lift lines and not the hour plus fuckery that supposedly ensued. S'okay though, I still think your kewl. I'm glad Blue gave you a gift card refund. I think all ski areas should follow Camelback's lead with the snow guarantee. You shouldn't be stuck being out all that money for a ticket if you get on the snow and conditions suck.
  3. Grill's comin' out Sunday!
  4. You know about as much about that hobby as you know about skiing. Those of us who care enough to make it a hobby don't pay nearly that much or stand in any real lines to speak of.
  5. It's pretty ridiculous to get angry about 15 minute lifelines on December 10th in the Poconos. Any mountain with any open terrain worth skiing would have the same lines. Camelback doesn't have any lines because they don't have anything open to draw in skiers. And anyone who thinks that skiing that shit Camelback had the nerve to open with is better than hitting the terrain Blue has open just because you can ski onto the lift vs waiting in a 15 minute line is operating with a diminished mental capacity and I seriously wonder how they could get through their everyday life.
  6. That's retarded. You should stay with Camelback.
  7. That's awful to wait in a 15 minute line just for one green route down the mountain with uphill parts that's ridiculously narrow and packed with people, on snow that wasn't groomed so has killer cookies under the fresh. Just kidding, obvs. Your options are pretty much suck it up and wait in a liftline for the only open terrain in PA that might be worth a line, or carry your happy ass back up to Tannersville and hang out in the lodge because the skiing sucks, but, hey—high speed quad!
  8. Go wider than 81. You won't regret it.
  9. Start poaching.
  10. Didn't get enough patrons last week to justify spending the money on grooming. Especially after the cookie and hot hit chocolate bill came in.
  11. Only supposed to get 3-5 inches. It'll be held. Hopefully keep the crowds away and we can knock out everything in the park and split soon after they turn on the Christmas lights, and I can retire to an evening of getting drunk and losing money at the blackjack table
  12. I'm super jealous, no skiing for me this weekend. Heading to Atlantic City to take the kids to a little amusement park event near there tomorrow
  13. I get that, I was specifically wondering about trails where it would be the first blown snow. Like, if the snow coming out is crappy quality to the point where they would rather not make it, would there be any harm in blowing that on trails with no current coverage to start a base, rather than blowing no snow at all
  14. How much does that matter for the base? Legit question, I don't know enough about snowmaking to know. I know when you are close to the wetbulb the snow quality sucks, but does blowing that shit-snow for the first 6 inches of base on new terrain matter? Does it affect the quality of the snowpack from the bottom?
  15. A man. A plan. A canal. Panama! spelled backwards s the same thing. If you ignore punctuation. And this is the internet, so natch . . .
  16. Like the Sahara and the Gobi?
  17. Wow. That escalated quickly.
  18. You're not supposed to bring a new beau around your kids right away.
  19. Yeah, just look for a good deal. I liked the Vokls when I demo'd them in the RTM84, and I liked the Rossi E88 HD and the E84 HD. I waited for a good deal on either the E88 or RTM84, and ended up paying just over $400 for a demo set of the E88 at Camel's demo sale this past spring. February 21, 2018 Buckman's is sponsoring a Demo and Customer Appreciation Day at Blue. Come out then and test drive a bunch of skis for free. Usually can get a discounted lift ticket at Buckman's too.
  20. Your skis are very flexy. I bet you'll feel a world of difference on something stiffer and maybe wider underfoot, especially when the snow cruds up. I know I did.
  21. Hit up Frost when they've got some decent cover. They have glades all over the mountain ranging from handicap ramp pitch to pucker-yer-asshole steep. I'm just starting on tree skiing myself. Looking forward to checking some out while out in Steamboat.
  22. No, not at Blue. They're like, whatevs. Don't die.
  23. I hope they can get snow tubing open by this weekend. They're falling behind Camelback and I don't like it.
  24. Haha, I was on the down low. There weren't really lines for food because of the different stations, and most could be accessed from 3-4 spots. I just waited until it wasn't crowded and walked up and snapped. The girl at the slider station gave me a bit of a weird look. I said "It's for my Yelp review" and she chuckled.
