  1. Blue is still probably leaving money on the table. Next time it snows they should charge $300 per ticket, $50 parking. Why not throw on a $25 convenience fee too like Ticket Master??
  2. Blue is rational for charging that. It's the people who are crazy for paying it. I would completely quit skiing if my only option was to pay $156 to ski 3 trails covered in Pennsylvania Powder and wait 20 minutes per run.
  3. So excite to ski the same trails again this weekend! I hope the race team gets two trails since they deserve it for bringing in so much business!!
  4. It might be booked through 2026 since Elk is super popular. Let's check with @Benm too since I think he wants to vacation in Southern Vermont.
  5. Did you end up finding 9 people to reserve the Victorian farmhouse 5 minutes from Elk which has a fully stocked kitchen and a foot of snow just like in Vermont??
  6. A way around this is offering a cheaper beginner pass that limits access to beginner slopes. I'm not sure if this is a thing now since I'm a super expert, but when I started skiing I remember that being a thing.
  7. I hope they get on Ikon next year because I'm tired of buying 2 season passes all the time.
  8. Not a mistake, that post was grate
  9. Camelback
  10. They were ok, but I was expecting ungroomed, empty champaign powder runs like that amazing morning in Steamboat with @enjoralas and @pops. Still my best ski day ever. Those 5 runs at Camelback weren't quite as amazing.
  11. When I departed their Camelback property after the massive Powder Day, my spirits, hopes and dreams were crushed thanks to KSL Resorts.
  12. I don't want to read people having fun, I want to read about people complaining!
  13. Thanks! I couldn't have done it without the hard work of all the thousands of Jersey folks who shoveled their driveways at 430 am like me and flooded CB. The customer service rep said I can email him anytime I have a grievance. I don't usually complain about anything but yesterday was just too much
  14. I emailed Camelback feedback to air my grievances and they offered me a free pass, so I'll give it to my snowboarding brah who helped me with a project over the summer. I don't really want anything other than for them to do better, but it will be rad skiing with a grate pal at Camelback.
  15. Probably not because local options are too limited around here. I think you can only go to Blue/CB 10 times each or something which isn't enough since I like to ski once or twice per week.
  16. I didn't switch, I have a Blue Mountain season pass and bought the CB add on for $155 ($205 - $50 gift card). I like alternating between the two mountains because skiing the same old trails in Pennsylvania at any resort gets old after a while.
  17. I think VIP season passholders should get special jackets like the BMR Race Team and get to cut in front of thousands of non-VIP peasants standing in line for hours whenever they feel like it.
  18. Camelback has sucked. Yesterday, there was a little bit of snow in the Pocono Mountains. It triggered a massive insane frenzy of people from New York City coming in droves to pay paid parking and double or triple the regular lift rates to ski the same exact identical slopes that have been open for several weeks, and often in better shape. Camelback forgot to open 2 chair lifts so numerous people had to stand in massive long lines for 30 minutes to ski a tiny slope for 30 seconds. It's been not so grate at Camelback.
  19. Looks like we will be getting a season pass holder line soon. Woo hoo!
  20. Camelback responded to yesterday: "Due to all of the snow we did have delayed openings for lifts. We are working on getting more terrain and more lifts open as soon as possible." Is it typical that snow makes lifts stop working? Never heard this one before! Camelback's social media is not getting any flak like Blue's is. I guess Blue was way worse or Camelback's clientele are just totally ok with spending $100 to stand in long lines all day and look at closed lifts.
  21. Correct. The "gating" method seemed to work well and most people will listen if someone who appears authoritarian does it. Even Camelback was doing their best to fill the lift yesterday and paired me with groups of 4 or 5. To have no one doing that at Blue yesterday morning is asinine.
  22. Wonder how the true Mountain is today? I hear no one skis there anymore, it's too crowded
  23. @Benm Were chairs really loaded with 1 or 2 people yesterday, as I see on Facebook? That's absolute insanity with 10,000 people in line. But I can see how it happens - when I ski single, I just keep moving up in the line until I'm on a chair whether I'm alone or with 5 others. Often I'll line up with people and then when it's our turn to board, they just stand there and I end up riding alone because they don't want to ride with 1 stranger. Not my fault, it's theirs... Yet I end up looking like the bad guy 💁
  24. Blue Mountains Instagram post says "Pow Day" so that means it was a Powder Day.
  25. Make sure you ask them for a free gift card or hot toddy for inefficient ski lift management.
