@GrilledSteezeSandwich WJW, remember that time Blue Mountain ran their slow lifts at 66% capacity due to inefficient and lazy crowd management, while thousands of people waited in line? I got a $39 gift card refund. I can't imagine paying $165 to deal with way worse as was at today's Powder Day. Today and the 2017 gift card debacle are my two most memorable worst days at KSL Resorts ski hill stations.

Yeah, I think so. Since I own a Subaru I don't really look to see how deep the snow is, it just goes.
-
Idk, I don't own a snow measuring stick.

Thanks for posting about Jack Frost in the Blue trip report thread!!

No and no.

It usually is a respite but not today... No one was in line for closed Glenn lift at 920 so I took a coffee break, being told it would open at 10 am (a lie). Came back at 950 and everyone and their brother and uncle and cousin and first cousin was in line. Then 10am projected start time passed and lift was stationary. 1005 I took the shuttle back to my car. I'm sure the first run down was really sick since rumour has it the lift eventually opened, but not worth 30 minute waits and then a long lift ride sitting butt to nutt with some random dude in a 2 person chair.

Grate report!! Reminded me of A Christmas Story when they're in line to see Santa: "What do you think you're doing, sonny? The line ends here. It begins there." Guy points to back off insanely long line that stretched all the way to Terra Haute. Then after waiting for an hour, get kicked down the slide by Santa with a boot labeled "KSL Resorts". Ho, ho, ho.

They could have put more effort into getting Nile Mile open at least instead of the glen area which is basically a waste of time to ski. That would at least give them a second high capacity lift and spread the masses out a bit. The biggest issue seems to be greed from overselling tickets, so then everyone has a bad time.

Funny thing is, they had Old Bailey fixed grip running on a day when the crowds were a small fraction of what they were today. I rode it a few times just for the solitude, the main lift was only a 1 or 2 minute wait. Then today it's not in play. When the main lift wouldn't work at 730 some workers went over to shovel Old Bailey out, but then dropped that plan once the main lift began working again. Due to the massive crowds it's ridiculous they didn't open Bailey. It still would have been insanely crowded overall but at least they would have shown some more effort into dealing with the demand. Would have given those who paid $100 plus dollars another option.

Have fun skiing a night sesh. I'm sure there won't be any lines at all now that 3 ski lift chairs are functioning!!

Awesome, WTGAI! Be sure to write a trip report!

You're a trooper to wait in that line for 2 runs per hour. Kudos for your extreme patience.

Maybe 5 or 6 runs before the insane crowds came. I got robbed out of my first tracks because the stupid "new" 6 person lift was 30 minutes late. I skied down to the beginner lift because it beats standing around, but it didn't open until 830 so I hiked back up to the main area

@zzslope Strike 2

At least you didn't have to shovel and had sausage. I shoveled heavy shit snow at 4:30 am to get first tracks at Camelback, only to have to deal with incompetency and ridiculous bull crap.
-
Same at Camelback. Worst powder day ever. Not even exaggerated.
-
How was Blue Mountain the True Mountain today? Did you ski lots of neck deep perder?
-
It's funny that we're skiing the same runs today as we have been for several weeks, and the snow isn't exponentially better than it has been. It's groomed, heavy as shit, and there is no tree skiing or even new terrain from this storm. Hell, Coming Soon was fantastic the last few times and without the crowds. Since it snows a bit suddenly all the masses suddenly remember that skiing is still a thing.

$165 to stand in line. LOLOLOL

Seems like a KSL Resorts wide problem. Lifts don't function after snowstorms??
-
Does Blue have its 3 lifts turning? There are 2 here sitting idle which should be turning. Camelback sure knows how to keep selling its $100 tickets to unsuspecting patrons on their way to stand in like for 45 minutes per run.
