  1. Probably overstating it. My yearly trip to Vermont usually exceeds $600 and then I go once a week at night to wherever's closest to where I'm working.
  2. That's what I did at Killington. I ate the free breakfast at the hotel, then ate captains wafers for lunch, and then bought off the dollar menu at McDonalds for dinner. Sometimes I splurged and went to Taco Bell instead.
  3. Nope, I'm stubborn and I take pride in having learned to ski by myself. I pick up some tips along the way from people I share lift rides with. I know I probably have a dozen of bad habits, but as long as I can get down any trail in NEPA I'm happy.
  4. It was mostly having to drive through the snow.
  5. Yep. As much as I joke around on here about money, I don't care about blowing a couple of thousand dollars on skiing per year. I just spent $120 on Smith earpods and bought a bunch of prepaid lift tickets. Winter is too short to not enjoy it.
  6. The roads were snow-covered from the Lehigh Valley exit all the way down to Fort Washington. I get stressed out driving in the snow next to tractor trailers.
  7. I've been biking forever and would always quit in the winter. After getting sick of sitting in the house every winter, I decided to get a job as a lift attendant at Eagle Rock. Once I saw how much fun skiing looked, I was determined to give it a try. One day after work, rentals lent me a pair of skis and boots for a few hours. I had to walk down the beginner hill the first few times, but once I started making it down without falling, I was hooked.
  8. You guys don't know the hell I went through to get to and from Blue on Wednesday night, so I felt entitled to one minor "complaint".
  9. You guys are entertaining. I know very few people that ski outside of PASR, and they only go with me once or twice a year.
  10. Nice, purple poles.
  11. Just as a side note, this Board is by far one of the funniest things I've ever found on the internet. I can't believe I already made almost 400 posts in only a month.
  12. I don't want to spoil it in case RidgeRacer didn't see it yet.
  13. I assumed toast was going to ban me immediately yesterday after objectively stating the fact that I received a $5 gift card vs $5 cash for a Blue screw-up, so I didn't want to expend energy on typing all those stats out.
  14. Thanks but I need to eat healthy today after eating the whole giant size bucket of popcorn last night at the Star Wars premier.
  15. Good theory. However, I prefer parking at the bottom of mountains because I find it more enjoyable on the last run to ride the lift and then do the last run, as opposed to doing the run and then riding the lift last. Just like how I eat all the boring pieces of Lucky Charms first and save the marshmallows for last.
  16. With all this snow coming down I wouldn't be surprised if Cliffhanger opens by 10 am tomorrow. Then I'll be getting 800 feet of vert.
  17. Yeah but Sullivan Trail is open too. The trail map says this is a black diamond.
  18. Oh snap!
  19. Wow, this is actually genius. I need to take some lessons from Ski2Live on how to save money.
  20. I cannot accept your money, Atomic, but I will bet you $5 that I can not not not not not not not not not not not not not beat you down the mountain.
  21. I am so excited to finally ski some real black diamonds tomorrow.
  22. I can't remember ever being cold when I'm skiing. Yet I'll be freezing when I walk to my car from a building which takes 30 seconds, even though I have layers on.
  23. Yeah but Blue doesn't have First Trax.
  24. Yep, those two are where I escape to when every other trail gets packed. I have never seen the Pocono Raceway lift run yet, and that would be a nice addition for when Stevenson gets packed starting around 10-11 am.
  25. For me a hoodie makes a big difference. Last night I wore a t-shirt, 2 sweaters, a hoodie, and jacket, and I was fine. My face was getting frostbite until I put on my face mask, though.
