  1. No thanks. I don't like other dudes touching me. I met NastarGlenn and he seemed like a really cool dude because he found it funny when I got a $39 gift card when they botched the lift line.
  2. Lol I can't wait to get yelled at for having an in-depth hot dog discussion in the Blue thread.
  3. Any reason? To me a binding is a binding. As long as my boot stays in when it's supposed to, and it pops out correctly in a fall, what does it matter?
  4. Good question. I already used my SkiLock on my Elans, since I tested those between 7:40 and 8:30. So I did not have a spare SkiLock for my RTMs. Instead I turned in the Rossingol 84's I was testing, then ate my hot dog, and then the demo center was kind enough to let me take the RTMs out for the rest of the day. Yes I need to start bringing some powerbars. I used to eat cliff bars for cycling but I no longer find them appetizing. I can try energy gel packets instead to save time.
  5. Not even integrated bindings? If no, then that's 2 votes for no and 1 vote for yes. Since I get to vote too that's 3 votes for no then.
  6. I can further elaborate on the hot dog. I originally thought it was going to cost $5.99 because I wrote that in a previous Camelback trip report. However, I checked out the lodge today when I got hungry after doing 30 runs on my RTMs and needed some energy to refuel. I checked the menu and could not believe it was only the basement bargain low price of $2.99 of a hotdog, and that price even includes bun and unlimited yellow mustard. But I'll again stress that I forgot to ask for spicy mustard, but as long as there's no ketchup and no mayonnaise on my hotdog then I'll eat it, even if it doesn't have yellow mustard or even spicy mustard. The hot dog bun was fresh and the hot dog itself was slightly charred, but I prefer my hot dogs and hamburgers to be somewhat well done instead of raw. So overall my hot dog experience was satisfactory, especially considering I saved 33 cents with my Season Pass.
  7. I'll blame Steeze for being irrational. I'm conservative when it comes to tuning/mounting gear that could result in injury, and since there's 1 vote for, and 1 vote against, I'll go with the less risky option.
  8. No, I'm not a handy person. Since mounting bindings is a one-time thing, I'm fine letting the shop do it. Now with my bike, I learned how to tune gear-shifting from watching YouTube videos because the damn thing always gets out of alignment and I got sick of going to the bike shop all the time. If I screw that up, worst case scenario is the chain pops off at low speed and I fall over at 2 mph maybe. Now compare that to doing 50 mph on skis and having the binding come off.. yeah, no thanks.
  9. IDK, he mentioned it in the current Blue thread.
  10. B-b-but Tarponhead got his skis mounted today by the shop and he's like an expert.
  11. Look, Facebook is spying on me. Because i wrote "Chamonix" somewhere on this forum yesterday.
  12. Why? Would the bindings not release your boot or something?
  13. Did I tell you my first set of skis was $15 and came with the poles? It was a packaged deal at the Goodwill store.
  14. Yep. One thing I don't mess around with is bindings. I was skiing on old bindings not on the indemnification list for a few weeks in 2015, and I was always paranoid they would malfunction. I haven't tested the bindings on my Elans yet this season, but since I'm planning to upgrade anyway it doesn't matter.
  15. Yeah I definitely would take them to shop first, even if it costs extra. I don't understand how all of the DIN settings and tuning work.
  16. As someone said today, there's 17 trails open, and 100% of those trails are open. They were complaining about the whole mountain not being open when the website says 100% open or something. I don't know. I thought the trail selection was pretty good. Regardless, today was the best day of the season at Camelback. The Stevenson lift had no line all day long, and the Little Caesar/Julius Caesar/Near East/Rhod Glen combination was perfect for testing skis. There are some moderately steep narrow turns, and then Rhod Glen opens up really nicely and allows for wide turning.
  17. To be fair they probably didn't anticipate the lifts shutting down, and scheduled the shuttle driver to begin his/her shift later in the day when it got crowded. But they should have a contingency plan in place for if the lifts go down.
  18. So this implies that even though the RTMs are integrated, they still need to be mounted?
  19. Nah. I think I'd be looking at new skis even if I hadn't found this forum, but this information has been very helpful. I realize today that I complained about bad conditions in the past mostly because my Elans aren't ideal for them. With stiffer skis it seems conditions don't matter nearly as much. If something actually provides value to me I am fine spending money on it.
  20. Ok, maybe not quite mashed potatoes, but lots of piles of sugary snow. Honeymoon was easily the most heavily tracked hill today. There was a disproportionate amount of beginners out, and everyone seemed to be skiing Honeymoon. In comparison, Rhododendron Glen was in pristine condition all day because no one seemed to know it was open, which was great for me!
  21. Last year I dug into Montage badly and they deleted my post. It was the weekend after the blizzard and everything was wrong with the place. From what I hear it's better this season.
  22. Dunn dunn dunn!
  23. What skis are you currently on? I don't know anything about either of those.
  24. Lol @ non-pasr people. I have headphones built into my helmet, so unfortunately people can't see that I have headphones in. I'm straight-edge when it comes to alcohol. One year on new years I drank a whole bottle of vodka without mixing it with anything and pretty much blacked out. Haven't been a fan of alcohol since.
  25. Yes. I found some nice icy spots to test them on. Near East is always very slick, and the RTMs gripped really nicely going down that. Tuts had some ice, though not as bad as Near East, and they held well on that too. Honeymoon looked like a warzone by 3 pm. It was a combination of mashed potatoes and ice. I was amazed at how well the RTMs performed in the mashed potatoes, since that's the snow type I find the most difficult to deal with. Also, I was seeking out death cookies instead of avoiding them, and its impressive how well they deal with that stuff.
