  1. Thanks. I'm looking at Mon-Thurs because I'm in suburban Philly and looking at discounted lift tickets for night skiing the next 4 weeks. My options are Spring, Bear Creek and Blue. Blue's obviously superior but it's a damn long drive for me - 1 hour 20 out, 1 hour 26 back. Yikes!
  2. Ok, we're kewl. Once lift lines were 15 minutes long around 10-11 am, I knew it was going to get exponentially worse the way the chip readers were slowing down the line. Afterwards, when we were chilling in the parking lot, the stream of cars coming in was crazy. I promise not to judge Blue based on this experience... too much! This is my first preseason experience, since last year at this time I was working as a lift attendant and not skiing. So I'm comparing the best times I had last year to current preseason conditions, which is totally not fair. Now I know what to expect next year early on and I won't be surprised when these kind of things happen.
  3. Does anyone know what time Bear Creek closes during the week? Buckman's discounted tickets says 4-10pm, but BC's website doesn't specify a closing time. https://www.buckmans.com/buckmans-ski-snowboard/pa-ski-resort-lift-tickets.aspx
  4. No one offered me a cookie. If I had a cookie maybe I would have stood in line longer.
  5. Wow, what a cool picture. I'm so happy you repost it every few days so everyone knows how cool GoPros attached to ski poles are.
  6. Yeah, the death cookies from Upper Main.
  7. That was at 11 am.
  8. I swear I've been the only person on the mountain there a few times when night skiing during the week. It's a lot of fun. From their FB: "For Opening Day the trail count is at 8 with 5 lifts... we've got Limited, Mainline, Whistler, Cannonball, Boomer, Connection, Doc's Way, Nordic trails with Short Haul, Shuttle, Iron Horse, Phoebe Snow and Lesson Carpet lifts spinning!"
  9. Ok good then I won't have to worry.
  10. Haha good one. I'm confused by your salon pictures however.
  11. Yes I know and I try to predict what other people are going to do and sometimes they do the completely unexpected. That's why I couldn't wait to advance to blue and black trails so now I don't have to worry about that as much.
  12. Haha thanks for sticking up for me TP4, I've been getting a lot of shit on here lately. It's all good though. I personally refuse to be herded like livestock in a long queue anywhere. I'm not mad about it because Blue refunded my money. My most memorable times skiing are jumping on a high-speed quad and doing run after run after run on good quality snow, regardless of level of difficulty. #notacattle #incapacitated #cantmakeitthrougheverydaylife
  13. During my final 5 seconds on the snow yesterday, I was behind a skier on Vista, nearing the lodge. All of a sudden the skier makes a sharp left in front of me and falls, on virtually flat terrain. I don't know how, but somehow there was just enough space to get around him. Time seemed to stop during those seconds as I thought my ski season was over due to a pending injury. Thank God I get to ski another day.
  14. That was pretty funny. Atomic told me I was going to get banned. I thought it was the singles line because someone did that earlier before it got insanely crowded. It didnt work because I had to keep yelling any single riders? Even if someone agreed i bet i would have still ridden single because the rfid reader is so slow, and then I would have had an angry mob with skipoles instead of pitchforks after me. Good times and I get to come back using my gift card!
  15. Lol ok. Im done discussing it too. Lets move onto the weeks ahead and youll see that ill be much happier
  16. I complained because of all the empty lift chairs which is asinine when you have 200 people in line. Blue apologized on their FB and admitted they goofed. indiggio explained it perfectly. The lifts could have been running near full capacity if Blue planned better. Glad I left when I did because it literally got 4 times worse by 2 pm - I knew the crowds sure as hell werent going to get any smaller by afternoon.
  17. But if you had a good day what was your justification for giving you a refund? Had a good day with PASRs and the very few runs I did hit. Im not standing in 20 minute lift lines no matter how good the snow is or how incapacitated that makes me.
  18. Awesome, glad you had fun. Good to hear you got some decent runs. I did notice a lot of people falling yesterday, a lot of first timers were out. Yep. I expected crowds today to be similar to opening day, maybe a little more. Boy was I wrong, haha. Live and learn, now I know when not to go skiing
  19. Be careful around these parts, Ski2Live, I got flamed for a similar remark.
  20. Not sure, just found it on Google. But I'm not exaggerating a whole lot when I say that's what Blue looked like coming down Lazy Mile, and FB posts say it got much worse by 2 pm with one hour waits. Got a $39 refund so I'm happy regardless. I heard the same thing from ski patrol yesterday about Camelback getting half the trails open next week, so getting pretty stoked.
  21. Good times on the slopes. Glad you found your ski, that must have sucked. Guess I'm just anxious to get out and relive my own memories of cruising down empty moonlit slopes on a cold starry night. Can't wait until next weekend.
  22. None from me. Not a clue. My one and only point was that the image below does not appeal to me and it never will.
  23. Midway and Lazy Mile were excellent. Had fun hearing a story from Root. Good day. FB posts say lines got up to 45 minutes by 2 pm so glad I bugged out. I'm satisfied Blue refunded me and will be a returning customer because of it.
  24. That caught me off guard. I thought enjo was a cool guy when I met him. No need to get worked up, we're just having fun on here. I prefer runs over quality. I'm a new skier and still enjoy green runs. We all don't have to think the same way, lol.
