  1. Wow only 1 hour? I need to ski at least 4 hours to justify the drive. Diabetic?
  2. Ok? Not sure if serious or not. I was skiing almost as fast as Matt Edge so maybe there is some resemblence...
  3. No that was me
  4. I am selling my Camelback season pass. For an extra $5 Blue gift card, I will autograph it for you.
  5. Look what I just found. ... except now my skis will be slow again. : (
  6. Tell GrilledSteeze, he will correct this.
  7. Tonight was pretty good. No traffic, and the snow was faaaaast. Much more fun than that slow snow crap when I have to exert energy. Tonight I exerted virtually no energy at all to get around, except for that one time when I took Connection to the upper lodge. Oh, and taking Burma was a mistake because they were blowing a lot of snow near the Main Street lift and I almost fell from a sudden loss of motion. Then I had to continue up a slight incline to get back to the 6 pack. But otherwise, tonight overall was better than I expected once I got used to the super hard pack. Reminded me of when I went night skiing at Elk last year. Susquehanna was 100% hard pack just like tonight, but there were no piles of sugary snow at all. I was literally the only person on it all night, and I took my time skidding down. It was the slickest slope I've ever been on, but I got used to icy conditions from doing that run over and over.
  8. There's actually a 3 minute video that goes along with that pic. I just paused the video at the perfect moment to get a still image. I'll likely never release the video to the public, except for maybe a Blue gift card.
  9. They're good, just looking for something different for the crappy conditions we get here in NEPA. I can ski on them just fine, but I think it will be fun to try something different, and maybe it will help improve my skiing so I look like the guy in the Volkl promo picture.
  10. Thanks Enjorales. It seems there are so many variations to skis that it's a bit overwhelming. Length, width, flex, camber, rocker, thickness, edge sharpness... aaah! Width is definitely something I'll factor in. I didn't know Blue lets you try 3 pairs for $60, that's pretty reasonable. I appreciate you offering me to try your skis, I assume you know how to adjust the binding to accommodate my boots?
  11. Thanks indigo, finally someone who knows how to pronounce Elon correctly.
  12. Here's a better picture of me actually.
  13. I could find Atomic Jeff a mile away because he always wears blue and orange. I think I met Matt Edge the last Sunday I was there... does he wear all black and sunglasses when tailgating?
  14. I'll be there between 6:15 and 10:00. Do you guys just ride the 6 pack all night long? Last week I found everyone by standing at the top of the Main Street Chair for about 5 minutes. I think we were on opposite cycles and would have never met otherwise.
  15. I'll look for GSS and Enjorales tomorrow. I have no idea what you look like, eaf. Here's my attire. I won't be wearing a GoPro. I'll have goggles and a red hoodie, and the hood will be sticking out.
  16. Lol, I still have a lot to learn. I had no idea boots went for that much.

TP4, how long do you stay at Spring? I usually stay 3-4 hours, but they've only had the one black diamond open when I went last year. Everything else is pretty damn boring, but at least it's cheap and close to Conshy.
  18. Omg, it looks like he's about to fall over. Is that how you're actually supposed to ski?
  19. Yes, last year's model, $599 with bindings. Printing out price comparisons is a great idea. The shop I go to highly recommended Volkl RTMs, and now I am seeing them everywhere on the slopes. They seem like an excellent option for an intermediate, but I still don't fully understand how the various designs alter one's skiing. I know that stiffer skis hold an edge better, and that longer skis provide more stability at higher speeds. I should probably do a little more research before buying, such as understanding "rocker" vs. "camber", etc. Also I think Volkl is the coolest sounding brand for skis.
  20. I can try, but I'm not really good at haggling. They're asking $599 and I will get some price comparisons, but other than that I don't really have much leverage to lower the price because it's the beginning of the season. I sure hope so. I have never skied on anything else. Maybe I should demo before dropping such a big investment, since skis are probably non-refundable. A ski shop near CB will let me take out a pair of Volkys for $40, so maybe I should...
  21. I see quite a few people on the webcam tonight, so it can't be that bad out. I'm almost certain that I'll be there after 6 pm tomorrow, and possibly ski for the last time in my Elan Morpheo 4 Early Rise Rockers, 168s.
  22. The shop I go to told me to never walk around the parking lot in ski boots because it messes with the binding or something. So I started booting up in the lodge if I have a long walk. Plus I do enjoy booting up a lot more in the warmth.
  23. That's what I try to do, but sometimes the boot straps twist around my fingers and cut off circulation.
  24. At Blue, I was in a hurry to ski and just threw my cheap pair of shoes under the bench to the right when you walk in the upper lodge. I always have an extra pair of shoes in my car in case someone steals them or throws them out or whatever, so I can drive home. I drive a manual and can't press the clutch with ski boots. I never got the point of those boot bags. People just leave a $50-$100 bag sitting around in the lodge all day?
  25. I stand corrected. The "Past Observations" page on wunderground.com for Palmerton states the high was 43, and dropped to 32 at 6:15 PM. I presume I misinterpreted their main page and confused "forecast" and "observation". http://www.intellicast.com/Local/Observation.aspx?location=USPA1244
