  1. Red alert! Guns are ablaze at CB! Come on Blue, let's get going!
  2. Nope, next Sat. Apparently you aren't a Star Wars fan.
  3. Just be glad you don't live in State College. Just saw Tussey from the interstate and it's in sad, sad shape.
  4. Yep, I'll most certainly be there. I'm thinking of doing a night session, maybe 4-9. At least skiing at night will provide a little variety. Plus if they're blowing snow on the trails, when it's colder at night, it could be a lot of fun hitting fresh piles for a change.
  5. I'm 29 so I got it at the bargain price of $399.
  6. 1 min ago on CB FB: open for night skiing!!! No first trax though. Also no trail count at this time. Assumption is same green trail
  7. Maybe we'll get Nile Mile this weekend and you guys can head over and join myself and Juice Bags. No hot chocolate or cookies though, that was only for opening day.
  8. Im from a major metropolitan region (Hazleton) and don't speak Skook.
  9. Two whats?
  10. This allegations brought forth by the Camel mascot are false. But we did enjoy our runs together on Honeymoon.
  11. The ski shop offered me Volkl RTM 81's at $599. I'll probably wait to find an end of season bargain on last year's model. In the meantime, I'll be skidding down the ice all season long on my flexy Elons.
  12. I could definitely use a few lessons. An instructor at Killington gave me some good pointers, such as not leaning backwards (which I still catch myself doing often). less than 3 years ago I couldn't ski the bunny slope at Eagle Rock, so I'm pretty happy with my progress regardless.
  13. I think I tense up sometimes and death grip the poles, thinking they'll save me from a fall when in reality that's not logical. Once I loosen up, I ski much, much better, but sometimes that takes me a few hours.
  14. Yep, and ironically my skiing improved drastically after a few runs with no poles. I think I was relying too much on them to make turns, and jamming them into the snow, thereby hurting my hands. Someone told me they train new skiers without poles because they use them as a crutch, and I think that's what I reverted to doing.
  15. Nice pole plants. Are my hands/wrists supposed to hurt using the poles? My left hand hurt so bad at CB last Saturday that I had to ski without poles. Lol.
  16. Nice video, you make it look easy. I'll look for some easy glades this year.
  17. Nope, I don't understand how you turn in tree skiing. I'm afraid of not knowing how to turn and hit a tree like Sony Bono. If I can find some easy glades this year at Stowe I might give it a try.
  18. Not sure what that means. I thought you had to stay on piste, or they take you to court like at Elk?
  19. That's surprising. From my short time here it seems that GSS is Blue's biggest fan.
  20. Ah, I thought you meant Main St. is lame. At this point in my career, I prefer wide, moderately pitched straight-shots with no crowds. Main St seemed to fit that criteria perfectly, but it definitely should not be considered two trails. I guess I bought into their propaganda. Must...go...debrainwash....it's one trail, saltyant, ONE TRAIL!!!
  21. They don't actually read these posts... do they?
  22. Good plan, but if conditions are good (like Hoth level good), I just might stay 'till close again and say to hell with Star Wars. I'll just have to stay off the internet until I see it so I don't know what the big reveal will be this time around ... i.e. who is who's father.
  23. I think this is how PASR prefers trip reports, short and concise just like above. Too bad you guys will have to sift through all my extra details, hahaha.
  24. Last year, I skied Blue once at night due to their $14 special on 2/14. The lift line on the 6 pack was longer than I would have liked, but otherwise I had a blast. My favorite run combo was both Main Streets, and then hitting the terrain park as a nice bonus. After 9, the place emptied out and I even got to avoid the stupid RFID chip reader. I don't remember too much ice, but it was a weekday so that probably made a difference.
  25. Tomorrow night, I imagine all ski resorts in the northeast will begin blasting snow at full capacity. Heck, I might even get to ski at Bear Creek in 2 weeks.
