  1. Thanks! I couldn't have done it without the hard work of all the thousands of Jersey folks who shoveled their driveways at 430 am like me and flooded CB. The customer service rep said I can email him anytime I have a grievance. I don't usually complain about anything but yesterday was just too much
  2. I emailed Camelback feedback to air my grievances and they offered me a free pass, so I'll give it to my snowboarding brah who helped me with a project over the summer. I don't really want anything other than for them to do better, but it will be rad skiing with a grate pal at Camelback.
  3. Probably not because local options are too limited around here. I think you can only go to Blue/CB 10 times each or something which isn't enough since I like to ski once or twice per week.
  4. I didn't switch, I have a Blue Mountain season pass and bought the CB add on for $155 ($205 - $50 gift card). I like alternating between the two mountains because skiing the same old trails in Pennsylvania at any resort gets old after a while.
  5. I think VIP season passholders should get special jackets like the BMR Race Team and get to cut in front of thousands of non-VIP peasants standing in line for hours whenever they feel like it.
  6. Camelback has sucked. Yesterday, there was a little bit of snow in the Pocono Mountains. It triggered a massive insane frenzy of people from New York City coming in droves to pay paid parking and double or triple the regular lift rates to ski the same exact identical slopes that have been open for several weeks, and often in better shape. Camelback forgot to open 2 chair lifts so numerous people had to stand in massive long lines for 30 minutes to ski a tiny slope for 30 seconds. It's been not so grate at Camelback.
  7. Looks like we will be getting a season pass holder line soon. Woo hoo!
  8. Camelback responded to yesterday: "Due to all of the snow we did have delayed openings for lifts. We are working on getting more terrain and more lifts open as soon as possible." Is it typical that snow makes lifts stop working? Never heard this one before! Camelback's social media is not getting any flak like Blue's is. I guess Blue was way worse or Camelback's clientele are just totally ok with spending $100 to stand in long lines all day and look at closed lifts.
  9. Correct. The "gating" method seemed to work well and most people will listen if someone who appears authoritarian does it. Even Camelback was doing their best to fill the lift yesterday and paired me with groups of 4 or 5. To have no one doing that at Blue yesterday morning is asinine.
  10. Wonder how the true Mountain is today? I hear no one skis there anymore, it's too crowded
  11. @Benm Were chairs really loaded with 1 or 2 people yesterday, as I see on Facebook? That's absolute insanity with 10,000 people in line. But I can see how it happens - when I ski single, I just keep moving up in the line until I'm on a chair whether I'm alone or with 5 others. Often I'll line up with people and then when it's our turn to board, they just stand there and I end up riding alone because they don't want to ride with 1 stranger. Not my fault, it's theirs... Yet I end up looking like the bad guy 💁
  12. Blue Mountains Instagram post says "Pow Day" so that means it was a Powder Day.
  13. Make sure you ask them for a free gift card or hot toddy for inefficient ski lift management.
  14. @GrilledSteezeSandwich WJW, remember that time Blue Mountain ran their slow lifts at 66% capacity due to inefficient and lazy crowd management, while thousands of people waited in line? I got a $39 gift card refund. I can't imagine paying $165 to deal with way worse as was at today's Powder Day. Today and the 2017 gift card debacle are my two most memorable worst days at KSL Resorts ski hill stations.
  15. Details please!
  16. Yeah, I think so. Since I own a Subaru I don't really look to see how deep the snow is, it just goes.
  17. Idk, I don't own a snow measuring stick.
  18. Thanks for posting about Jack Frost in the Blue trip report thread!!
  19. It usually is a respite but not today... No one was in line for closed Glenn lift at 920 so I took a coffee break, being told it would open at 10 am (a lie). Came back at 950 and everyone and their brother and uncle and cousin and first cousin was in line. Then 10am projected start time passed and lift was stationary. 1005 I took the shuttle back to my car. I'm sure the first run down was really sick since rumour has it the lift eventually opened, but not worth 30 minute waits and then a long lift ride sitting butt to nutt with some random dude in a 2 person chair.
  20. Grate report!! Reminded me of A Christmas Story when they're in line to see Santa: "What do you think you're doing, sonny? The line ends here. It begins there." Guy points to back off insanely long line that stretched all the way to Terra Haute. Then after waiting for an hour, get kicked down the slide by Santa with a boot labeled "KSL Resorts". Ho, ho, ho.
  21. They could have put more effort into getting Nile Mile open at least instead of the glen area which is basically a waste of time to ski. That would at least give them a second high capacity lift and spread the masses out a bit. The biggest issue seems to be greed from overselling tickets, so then everyone has a bad time.
  22. Funny thing is, they had Old Bailey fixed grip running on a day when the crowds were a small fraction of what they were today. I rode it a few times just for the solitude, the main lift was only a 1 or 2 minute wait. Then today it's not in play. When the main lift wouldn't work at 730 some workers went over to shovel Old Bailey out, but then dropped that plan once the main lift began working again. Due to the massive crowds it's ridiculous they didn't open Bailey. It still would have been insanely crowded overall but at least they would have shown some more effort into dealing with the demand. Would have given those who paid $100 plus dollars another option.
  23. Have fun skiing a night sesh. I'm sure there won't be any lines at all now that 3 ski lift chairs are functioning!!
