Nope. They said this is a "big" announcement. You'll see, they'll surprise everyone and open 10 trails at once.
-
It's only been 43 hours since they announced that a big announcement is coming soon. We just need to get them more time to prepare the announcement.
-
It's happening...soon! My F5 key is getting worn out from refreshing the CB website.
-
Their website has been screwed up lately. The webcams are coming up really small, making it hard to see how much snow there is. My guess is the webcams are frozen due to a technical glitch, and there's actually much more snow there than we're seeing.

With a little help from Ullr and maybe 1 or 2 volcanic sacrifices you guys will be tubing in no time.
-
Yeah, my entry level Elons aren't the greatest for sloppy conditions.

I would love that. As much as I am enjoying the early season, Midway was a pain in the ass to get down. I just spent a month rehabilitating my knee from a cycling injury and don't feel like messing up my knee this early in the season from those damned death cookies. But I think Upper Main would be in good shape since it's a straight shot down.
-
I can't believe it was 62 in Palmerton today. Ouch! That must have hurt the snowpack a little.
-
Major announcement coming soon. You never know, I might be cruising down Marjie's Delight in a mere 72 hours.
-
How will Midway be? Death cookies? Boiler plate? Ice? Moguls? Place your bets.
-
I was actually just setting you up to quote one of my favorite movies. Sad face
-
So you're telling me there's a chance? Like one in a thousand???
-
Does this mean a PASR snowtubing meetup? It's normally $35, but with 20 people we might get the $20 group rate.
-
I've been tracking these daily for the last month, and it seems that the same pattern will stick around for at least a few days at a time. Plus, when we got the cold spell a few weeks ago, this map predicted it. But yeah, it could just as easily turn back to all red in a few days. Johnny Law, impressive analysis. Are you a professional meteorologist?
-
It's official... the tide is turning in our favor! NOAA is never wrong. Yesterday at this time, we were in the dark red.

Are you questioning AccuWeather's 90 day forecast? Christmas week is looking good, with a low of 12 degrees on 12/29.
-
I'm not too confident in The Weather Channel. But John Hickey's report from last night looks pretty promising. http://wnep.com/2017/11/27/beyond-the-7-day-looking-for-cold-and-snow/ "All of this is to say that winter weather lovers *might* enjoy what is to come for early to mid-December. While it’s much too early to call for any individual storm this far out, the 'window of opportunity' certainly appears to be presenting itself for an active start to meteorological winter."
-
Looks like we may finally get the cold air we've been waiting for. https://weather.com/storms/winter/news/2017-11-27-late-november-early-december-united-states-weather-pattern-forecast

Solid advice. It's just fun to rag on CB since that seems to be the thing to do around here. Maybe they'll come around later in the season. -

My post was kind of relevant. I cant use my $399 CB season pass, so I need to dish out $40 per weekend at Blue for the foreseeable future. Which is why I'll be getting a Blue pass next season. -
Camelback clarified the grass conundrum. "with having the outdoor waterpark, we have pavers on a nice part of the base area and lower mountain, making coverage more difficult when the temps change. Grass is just easier to cover!" I did get a Camelbeach season pass with my ski pass, so I guess it balances out. Too bad I didn't use it once since I'm a germaphobe and think sharing water with 1,000 other people is disgusting.
-
Really? Camelback is more northward, and at a slightly higher elevation.
-
Just posted by Camelback: "We’ve installed new snow guns and our snow makers have been working around the clock! Camelback isn’t completely grass like other mountains, so coverage takes time. We are working hard so that when we open, we can open with quality trails and stay open. Please be patient- we will be announcing opening day as soon as we know when it is! We think it’s great that other mountains were able to open early. Every mountain is different and there are many factors that go into opening!" Not sure why it matters that Camelback isn't completely grass like other mountains. Does snow melt slower on grass?
