Hi everyone, I wanted to answer some of the questions about tomorrow night. 1. Registration is from 5:30-7pm in the Lodge. However, we'll probably extend that until 8pm for any late arrivals. 2. The season pass desk will be open until 8pm for those who want to pick up their passes. Let me know if there are any questions and I'll get back to you with answers. Thanks, Mary

Yes, it is true that you must be 18 to enter the Waking Winter party. However, we are also hosting something in November for all ages that I think you guys might enjoy

I want to clear up the question about the forgotten pass ticket. This is something that we'll issue once per season if you legitimately forget your pass at home. However, if you're an off-peak season pass holder, we won't issue the ticket during unlimited pass hours. We also require that you attach this ticket to your clothing at the Guest Services desk so that we can make sure it isn't being given to someone else.

Hi everyone, Our supercharged snowmaking system blew over 4" of fresh powder last night and conditions are great! The forecast is looking favorable to continue snowmaking tonight (and almost every night for the next week), so take a Snow Day and join us on the mountain!

Sorry Nick, I'm not personally hiring anyone, but I know there are still positions available. Your best bet is to contact Tamara, our HR Manager, for a better list of who is hiring. Her email is tamarab@skibearcreek.com. If you know that you are interested in working in the Park, contact Andy, our Terrain Park Manager, at andyl@skibearcreek.com or call him at 610-682-7100 x433. Thanks! Mary

Hey guys, You can check out a video from Pond Skimming .

Join us on Sunday, March 25 at 1pm for our annual Pond Skimming event! Participation is free and costumes are encouraged. Registration will take place from 11:30-12:45pm at Guest Services. All participants must sign a liability release. Rental equipment may not be used for Pond Skimming. I want to make it clear that this does not mean that Bear Creek is closing on Sunday. We have not made a decision about a closing date at this time. We will continue to remain open as long as conditions allow, guest interest remains and staffing is available.

Here is an update on this afternoon's Rail Jam: The features are going to be the S-rail , the 25 foot rail and the 30 foot box. It is going to take place below the large staircase.

Off Peak passes are now valid at any time through the remainder of the season. Therefore, you can use your free ticket anytime.

Hi everyone, I promise- Mark and I aren't hiding. And to answer your question, it is not in the plans to keep the lifts open until 1am at any time through the rest of the season. For our Customer Appreciation Day, we opted to open the lifts early for passholders instead because we've gotten a lot of requests for that over the years. I hope to see everyone today or tomorrow taking advantage of the fresh powder! Thanks, Mary

Here are the rules for getting your free guest pass: The season pass holder should go to Guest Services* with their season pass in hand and their guest. Our guest services employee will mark your season pass so that we know you have received your one free ticket. We will then give the lift ticket to the guest and they must attach it to their jacket in front of our employee. Scalping these tickets is NOT permitted and anyone caught doing so will be turned over to the state police. (This might sound harsh, but we have to keep it fair from everyone. We are hoping to continue doing this every year, but if the system gets abused we won't be able to offer this opportunity.) (*On Saturday you will be able to collect your free guest pass from any ticket window. However, on any other day you should go to Guest Services.)
-
Hey guys, As you all know, we included one free guest pass for season pass holders as part of our Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, March 17. However, since the forecast is now calling for 4-8 inches of snow tomorrow, we decided that your one free guest pass will be valid starting Friday (tomorrow) so that you can enjoy the fresh powder! Can't make it tomorrow or Saturday? Not a problem, because you can receive your one free guest pass ON ANY DAY FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!! Who says we don't do great things for our passholders??
-
Just to clarify our policy, Bear Creek does provide one complimentary "forgotten pass" per season. After that, guests must either buy a replacement pass for $25 or purchase a lift ticket for the day. To receive the "forgotten pass" ticket, you just have to go to Guest Services and give your name. However, in order to keep pass holders from giving these tickets to their friend, we do require that they clip it on their jacket at the Guest Services desk.

You guys asked for it, so we're making it happen! We've just added a Rail Jam on Saturday afternoon in the base area! This event will be FREE to season pass holders and $5 for anyone else who wants to enter. Registration will take place from 1-2pm at Guest Services. (All participants must register- even those with a season pass!) The event will take place from 2-3:30pm. Judges will pick the top skiers and snowboarders to advance to the finals, which will be held from 3:30-4:00pm. At 4pm, prizes will be awarded to the to skier and the top snowboarder.

The results have been posted on the homepage of our website since this morning. There are also photos posted in the photo gallery.

We are working on typing up the scores today and should have them posted on our website by tomorrow morning.

As I said, this information is untrue. We'll make an annoucement today in our daily staff meeting to clear up the rumors and get all of our employees on the same page.
-
I'm not sure where anyone is getting the idea that we are closing on the 18th. This is completly untrue and pure rumor. A closing date has not even been discussed within the management team at this time. In fact, we have plenty of snow on the mountains in piles right now and we also plan to continue making snow as temperatures permit. The customer appreciation day that we are putting together for our season pass holders and other guests has really nothing to do with the way the season started. It's something that we've been discussing and are hoping to make an annual event, regardless of the way the season turns out. Bear Creek strives to provide world class guest service to all of our guests, and we make changes and create days like this one based on the input of our guests. If you have additional suggestions for our customer appreciation day, I would be happy to hear them and consider them. Thanks, Mary

The slopes don't open until 8:30am, so season pass holders will have an hour to themselves.

Hey everyone, Tonight is the final event in the SHOWDOWN competition series and it will be held regardless of the weather. As of now, the forecast is showing light rain from about 6-9pm and the heavier rain doesn't start until later, so hopefully it will hold out. The registration will take place from 4-5:30 at Guest Services. We are limiting the competition to 100 competitors, so show up early to make sure you get a spot. As always, the cost is $15 and you get a free t-shirt for entering. Everyone that registers to compete tonight will also be entered into a drawing that is taking place before the awards ceremony. We have some left over prizes from our competition series that we want to give out- including two snowboards (from Burton and Flow), Rossignol travel bags and some gift certificates to The Ski Bum! You must be present to win, so if you are competing tonight, be sure to stick around. After the awards ceremony for the Urban Slopestyle event we will be giving out the prizes for the overall winner in each division- and they are awesome! The Open Class ski winner will get Atomic Triplet skis, goggles and get to pick out a full outfit from Predatorwear. The Open Class snowboard winner will get a new Burton board, Flow bindings and goggles. In total, we'll be giving out over $5,600 in prizes and gift certificates to the overall winners! See you tonight!

Hey everyone, I am happy to annouce that season passholders will also receive a 10% discount in the Mountain Eatery cafeteria on Saturday! Now, to your questions about the early hour of skiing and riding- it will be for passholders only. No friends, no shop employees- only season pass holders. Also, don't worry about the snow. We've got plenty here in piles and we plan to continue to make snow as temperatures permit!

That's something that we still have to talk to Andy about. There are a few other things that are also still in the works, I just don't have them finalized yet. I wanted to get the initial information and date out ASAP so everyone could mark their calendar. As soon as I get more details, I'll pass them along.
