this wknds forecast has changed back and forth quite a few times already. i'd hope they wouldn't make a decision until wed.

It's a shame it'll be raining. I'll still be there tho.
-
Not sure when they started, but guns are on in the valley near the lifts.
-
not sure if it was mentioned, but looks like they tried the learning hill guns. there is also what looks like some digging happening at the very left of the valley cam.

terrible news at Gilson Ski/Snowboard overnight. nothing online yet, just broke, huge fire overnight. place is 'gutted'

im surprised they had a crane out today, it was windy as shit.
-
those d-skis were phenomenal.

this year im thinking of just pieces of sheet metal with something supportive so it doesn't have to be too thick (maybe 2x4s epoxied on top). i won't need to worry about having metal edges.

i can't wait to drink in the upper lot after skiing three runs on vista.

snowing here, nothing crazy but def not flurries.
-
Part 1 - fuck it, blow elsewhere. homestretch, paradise, etc. is fair game. (tho i agree they prob shouldn't blow where work on the new lift might be impacted). Part 2 - maybe it's detrimental but hell with it. if the temps are low enough and blue is all about blowing snow, there should be guns going if temps are right.

was it mentioned here about the 4hr tickets not being available? also, their earliest ticket sale date is Dec 2.
-
i think it'll be a good mixture of both. especially if the S^5 is a faster trip up. there lots of Main St / Switchback runs, so it'd make sense to take the faster trip up. tbh i really like a ttb main st run, but only do it maybe a few times a season, so that is pretty exciting

SSSL is tempting for the chute. i feel like it's rare to get a run on it where you can be 100% certain you won't crash into someone after coming over the top. sort of how you can be confident no one is wrecked on falls and can careen over the top on the first run. also, while one can never be certain about what the grooming situation on it is like (ie. usually not good), the SSSL will give an aerial view, so that is also helpful

There was a FB post saying it was a two day op.
