  1. @EdBacon - Are you on the Ikon FB group? https://www.facebook.com/groups/ikonpassholders/ It feels like people are constantly wanting to see the stats for the effects of mega passes. There are some stats floating around there too. The TGR forums talk about it too. It might make more people buy a BB/JF pass if they're planning ski vacations that year but you'll notice the largest increase in ridership at the already large mountains like Vail, Whistler, etc. I doubt many west coasters will be clamoring to come ski JF/BB...
  2. I'm curious how they're going to be tracking it... EPIC has RFID readers and it tracks the vertical feet of the lift and you don't need to be connected to the internet for it to track. The tracking is connected to your pass. Over the years, I've had a mix of Epic and other mountain passes but it's interesting to look back on the seasons. IKON uses your phone's locations, similar to the app, SkiTracks. You have to go into your phone and click on start tracking. I've found that it's not as reliable because you need to have solid service on the mountain for it to actually track and it drains your phone battery especially in colder climates. But, it's interesting because it creates a little pie chart of difficulty. The Epic app connects with facebook and shows what friends are at the mountain and what lift they're on. The Ikon app, if you're tracking, will show real time what run they're going down. It's helpful for big mountains and trying to find people. But, for PASR and Blue ... I'm sure if you wait some time, you'll find your friends by the meats. Its partly a stupid competition but here are some screen shots of how other mountain passes track it.
  3. anyone up for skinning up Camelback this season? even though the elevation gain is small, love the workout and want to prep for legs for some bigger touring adventures this spring .
  4. @AtomicSkier & @GrilledSteezeSandwich - If you need more photoshop pics, you can insert your face into a skiier or boarder on Ikon’s instagram https://instagram.com/ikonpass?igshid=1poww1gu8ehx1
  5. can you imagine if you had to do line control at Vail? 🥴😳😬
  6. Awesome trip report. Way to get after it, @mbike-ski I've done laps skinning up camelback while echos of people yell "you're going the wrong way." You're trip looks way more rad than my most recent skinning adventures...
  7. everyone reading about the powder stashes, first tracks, and face shots .... thanks to this thread, I've been checking out flights to Jackson for the past 30 minutes or so...
  8. True. I met some people in a parking lot at Blue a couple weeks ago. I grew up skiing and teaching kids at BB ski school. Spent 10 years out west skiing in CO, UT, and California. May not be the fastest skier but I know about the best breakfast burritos out west.
  9. Neither are good and both are overly hyped. Their food is really bland. It tastes like it could be served in a Philadelphia public school cafeteria. Blue Iguana feels like a chilli's turned into a mexican restaurant. And, Red Iguana feels like it could be in fishtown and has a much cooler atmosphere. If you're in downtown SLC, be sure to get a breakfast burrito from Beto's. They don't speak English well. It usually doesn't show up when you search for "mexican restaurants" in Google. It's legit. You can get a monster size delicious breakfast burrito before skiing. https://betosmexicanfood.com/menu/breakfast-burritos
  10. The Holiday Inn near Grand River Junction, VT was huge. It had covered parking and could easily sleep 6 people for about $120/night. Only downside is there's no hot tub. As @Schif's lifestyle photographer, I captured this before we left.
  11. Adding to @Schif TR report The Stag Rack is awesome. I know a bunch of people who use it in the PNW, Colorado, and Utah. It's more than just a suction cup. Check it out. It's easy on and off and significantly less expensive than a traditional rack. https://www.stagrack.com/ The top of Mt Ellen was wild. The headwind made it feel like the mountain didn't want you to ski down. It was only a little cold...... Here's a short video from the top of Ellen. https://imgur.com/9r2bQhm But, it wasn't all ice and white out conditions. Early in the day at Sugarbush, there were clear views and open runs.
