2/21/22..Presidents’ Day...amazing
Dirtwolf replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
I rolled up around 5:45 and skied until about 7. Laughing because this is not the first time this has happened this season. -
Just wrapped up a quick rip tonight and since there were no other TRs posted today it’s coming late. Got here at 5:45 and lower lot was filled. I almost had to park in additional parking in back. First lift ride up had a about 5 minute wait but thankfully everything after that I skied right on. Conditions were consistent for the most part on all trails and were a mix of soft sugar piles and firm glistening hardback. Switch felt and sounded like I was running a luge track. I’m thinking conditions might be pretty good tomorrow morning. My theory being that the quick drop in temp and wind pulling moisture out of the snow has resulted in dry snow. Grooming that dry snow may set up tonight to make fast, firm, and grippy conditions tomorrow morning. I can also confirm some automated fan guns turned on around 6:30 and as I was leaving it looked like guns were on in the chute/midway area. WTGAI Blue!

I'll be there Saturday -
Hoping the weather holds out to sneak up later but it's not looking good. Waiting to see the 4pm closing announcement...

Had a blast smashing some gates and brewskis. Conditions were fantastic as well.

Found this online yesterday when looking to see if there were any options to buy these screws. It's been an interesting and noticeable experience having one boot with none installed and the other with only 1. If the percentage reductions are true in the link below I've been riding on a left boot with 105 flex and right boot with a laughable 96 flex. Sounds perfect! Thank you!

Those look right! If you're willing to part with them (screw and inside bit) I'd be happy to have them. Many Thanks! Lesson learned here is to give those things a tighten every once in a while.

Just wrapped up a quick sesh. Decent night tonight with snow being somewhat better than expected. Skied from 6-7 and got 6 runs in. First run down TCS was probably ROTN followed closely by a wide Main Street. Challenge, Switch, lazy, and p-dizzle weren’t terrible either. They only had quad running and lines were nearly to the gates most runs. However, they did have someone there herding the cats loading 4 to a chair and kept lines moving nicely.

Those look like they may be too small.

Would anyone happen to have an old pair of Lange RS or RX boots that still have the Flex Adjustment screws (on back of cuff) and backings? Somehow I managed to loose three in total.

Yup, left where we were staying in the town of Volcano on the Big Island around 7am (Hawaii time) to see a green sand beach and hit Kona Brewing before our flight at 2 pm. Landed in LA at 9:45 pm and pretty much got right on the next flight to Baltimore which landed yesterday morning around 7 am. Then drove to the Sea Isle to pick up our doggo from her parents then home. Managed to make it to half time in the Superbowl before crashing. Still may head up for at least a few runs. Gotta get my stats back up.

Was thinking I may head up for a few runs tonight to reacquaint myself with winter but maybe not after reading this...

All around good shit today! See y’all in a few weeks!

Has anyone looked closely at the electrical box as you slide past? I noticed last night there is a button or something labeled along the lines of "trail power"
-
Very tentatively Saturday morning.
-
Good shit! CS in stalin's trench was amazing last night. I started playing around skiers left on the upper part of CS and there are some fun lines through there too. Can only imagine the fun today.
-
edge and I will be there from 5:30 on.
-
Would love to see them. Gotta gather more intel. I'll only be up on Saturday morning this weekend.
-
I’d say 12 out of 10. So much fun.
-
Not sure if temps have gone above freezing today so should make tonight fun. Looking forward to CS tonight.

Really solid day yesterday in literally everyway. -
Thanks y'all for the input so far. I should clarify a bit that this setup will be more geared toward adding another ski to the downhill quiver. This ski will also open up the possibilities of some tame-ish backcountry up north/out west, inbounds resort uphill travel stuff, and the random time where I'd get the urge to go skin around some flat trails close to home. For bindings I was looking into the Marker Duke PT or the Salomon Shift. However, after some research and seeing indiggio's Markers yesterday morning I think I am leaning that way. The Markers look way more robust for the main purpose of the ski. For the skis I'm for sure not looking for big fatties because lets be honest... it's not dumping every day at Blue. Kendo's are 88 under foot so thinking something slightly fatter maybe in the 95-100 underfoot range. Also, not looking for something super light and flimsy because again, downhill in-bounds performance will be the main purpose. What about skins?

Looking to get a touring setup at some point in the near future. Recommendations???
