  1. Still so much better than JFBB in my opinion.
  2. They’re saying they want the mountain open for Easter so it could happen. They’re being very aggressive with their snowmaking.
  3. Maybe they stay open longer than Blue this year and it will happen. Remember when they’d do the Alien passes?
  4. There’s plenty of unpaved areas, if there’s ever a PASR day at CB.
  5. The parking is $10. It’s $20-$50 depending on the day in the preferred lot up front. Maybe someone else can chime in, I have to think BB’s lot is much worse than Blues?
  6. It’s free for pass holders. Also it appears to be on an honor system. You’re supposed to use an app to pay in the lot, however there’s no meters or enforcement. They do have nice paved lots. JFBB was a disgrace with their muddy trench filled lots.
  7. Thank you! I’m hoping at night with traffic I’ve been 65 or under. It’s been over a month with nothing in the mail so hopefully it might only be one or two.
  8. I did, it just says between miles 31-38. I know I saw the one when I was heading south in the daylight. I’ve never seen one heading north, but it’s usually dark then.
  9. Is it just heading south?
  10. Looks like 1st offense is a warning, 2nd is $75, 3rd and every one after that is $150. I just wonder how many miles over for a violation and how long before the fine comes in the mail? I’ve been driving by there every weekend since CB opened and I can guarantee I’ve been going well over 55. Coming home Sunday probably 30 over as the light traffic was really moving.
  11. It’s been grate! Doing first tracks and riding right up to the lift until around 9. Then the lines start forming, by 1030 they’re about 15 minutes but the trails are still empty. We leave around 11. Friday nights still about a 5 minute line, drinking by the fire pits in front of the lodge is good, not hard to grab a spot. Parking in lot 10 with a 100 foot walk to the Stevenson is easy too. We’re really glad we made the switch.
  12. We moved on to JFBB in 2013. When you were there was it closed to the public?
  13. What year were you at eagle rock?
  14. 2007 were my Eagle Rock Days...
  15. My family bought a place in split rock in 1972. They and many others spent the summers there. The cottage owners association was 90 percent second home owners from NJ, the Philly and NY suburbs. The wife and kids would spend the entire summer there and the men would come up after work on Fridays and spend the weekend. Tennis was a huge part of it. The courts were busy 7 days a week from 8-11. Then everyone would meet after lunch at the lake. Everyone drove golf carts and socialized every Saturday night. By the 90s that scene started to fizzle out and in 2002 my family sold, mainly because it just wasn’t the same in the summer. I’ve always been told that the lake harmony area is busier in the summer.
  16. There’s a lot of action near BB in the summer. JF condos are gross and even worse in the summer. If JF closes there’s going to be a lot of pissed people including Cecily who recently sold her place in split rock and bought back there.
  17. I’m pretty sure snow tubing isn’t happening at jfbb anymore.
  18. Oh great, I guess I have a handful of tickets in the mail.
  19. We’re in a good spot right now with a 10, 12 and 15 year old that have all been on the snow since 3. I wish I would have switched last year. JF was horrible and I only used my pass at Hunter last fall. In a few years I’ll be retired and probably a Blue regular.
  20. This is fucking great! I’m so glad we rolled the dice and switched hills
  21. Really? I can’t remember a time when there wasn’t construction on 476.
