I have always thought Jim Thorpe could be turned into a cool ski town. The surrounding hills could probably be turned into a competitive PA ski mountain.

It's getting and staying cold...we will be on the snow in PA this time next month.

Sometime between Columbus Day and NJ teachers convention. I'm going out on Monday to a few jeep and Benz dealerships. I drove a GLA 350 when I was looking at a ML 350. It was super fun and sporty. Just not sure if it's big enough.

I think most people who ski their whole life and then quit the second they have kids do so because of the pain in the ass it is. I've been putting in a shit load of time on the hill getting my girls to love the sport that I grew up loving. It's not fun most of the time and we spend more on ski season then the average American makes in 6 months. In the end it will totally be worth it or so I'm told.

Split rock was my local hill. I wish it was still open. Eagle rock is most comparable to that.

I always put down as much needed to keep the payment around $500. I always pay off early also. I've never had a zero percent loan. If I get one I look at it as free money and might as well not put anything down. I'm hoping there are some deals to be had between Columbus Day and teachers convention when I plan on buying. I looked at an MDX yesterday it was nice, but I'm still favoring the jeep.

No, I'll put down as much as it takes to get my payment around $500 for 72 months. Unless I can get zero percent than I'll put down nothing and have a $1000 or more per month payment for 60 months.

Burton 71, I am probably getting the jeep, but I will check out the Acura. I don't need the 3rd row, since we have a Tahoe.

It all changed in the last couple of years. Chevy and ford are producing fewer Tahoes, suburbans and expeditions, so the prices are high and don't drop as quick. They also come equipped with tons of new tech that pushes the starting price of 50 to well over 60. 2015 escalades are 80k.

Yep, most full size SUVs are over 60k.

I've driven a bunch of stuff over the last 10 days and here's my short list: 2014 Dodge Durango RT and Citadel 2015 Ford Explorer Sport 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit and Overland 2015 MB ML 350 All are in the 50-65K range and have adaptive cruise control, navigation and rear entertainment. I'm leaning towards the Jeep. It's the sportiest and probably would go through deep water, snow and over curbs the best.
