The liftees on the F chair like to blast music so I think it keeps some folks away LOL. Ran back up around 4:30 and was disappointed that Samsquanch bumps got a haircut . I wish I would have gone over sooner last night, my Son was having fun in the park so we hung over there .

The Bear is Back! Last minute night session, Nice Vanilla Sorbet a little slow at first but sped up as the night went on. A stellar effort to come back from the nasty warm stretch. A few Whales were left alone to play on. Grizzly was probably 8’ high and upper section bumped up nicely. I waited too long to get over to Samsquanch so for my last run had to tuck and skate up. The Patrollers were just starting to close up but they let me past so my efforts didn’t go to waste. I haven’t skied Bear Creek that often but I don’t think I have ever seen bumlps build up on the steep section like I have tonight. Air after every turn it was awesome. Big hand on the effort to rebuild!

Good thing! Last night I hit some nice rocks. It was talcum powder on granite, very fast. The brown spots appeared pretty random as things were getting thin in a lot of places.

Back is decent shape so far when I’m skiing but I haven’t skied anything very challenging this year. Ironically if I stand in one spot for 5 minutes my feet start tingling. I’ll see about the pass my Az trips blew up my fun budget.

Yeah but it’s fun skiing on squeaky snow. Had some Dale boots years ago that didn’t like cold cold weather. After a-10 weekend at Smuggs all of my plastic boot buckles cracked.

If you’ve ever been on a lift with the bar up and a roll back occurs it’s enough to convert an atheist. It happened to me at Hunter in the late 70’s , the person I rode up with insisted on keeping the bar up. I grumbled a bit but relented. We were at the highest spot possible when the lift jerked to a stop and proceeded to roll back about 50’ which swung the chair forward and violently backwards when it stopped abruptly. The angle of the chair I would say went past 45° Scared the crap out of me !

Nice pictures , I saw a few cumulus cloud wisps. Getting the itch to fly. The last three days there’s been a ton of bus traffic. Lot #6 had cars today too.

I paid $49.00 for a ticket and rentals on a Monday after thanksgiving. Place was empty. Crazy algorithm. Article had $42.00 on a Tuesday a week out 🙃

No contest Snowbowl Mt Lemmon has a crazy ecosystem. Saguaros at the base of the mountain 2600’ Pines up top. The drive is fairly long almost an hour eventually pines up top and 180” average snowfall. Not much vertical but descent pitch in places. More a novelty to ski . There were some patches of snow around last April. Tucson was 95° and the top of the ski valley was 50° I liked hiking the granite moguls.

Oh yeah!!!!!! My son’s looking at Kutztown but maybe I can steer him towards Az lol . Maybe you can hook up with Rasingarizona13 he’s an awesome tour guide! He’s posting some other worldly pictures on NYSB https://nyskiblog.com/forum/threads/flagstaff-conditions.1172/page-13#post-50406

Unfortunately not till March or April. I was out last spring but conditions weren’t too good when I was out so I didn’t ski. Another AZ ski area getting the goods. It’s near Tucson of all places lol https://www.skithelemmon.com/

The scenery or the cashier? If I get cheap or free ticket somewhere I’ll spend $ on insanely priced food. Although my wife was bitching about $38.00 for water and mac and cheese for her and my son at Az snowbowl. I did get rentals and a lift ticket for $49.00 in November so it balanced a bit.

I live pretty frugally and would continue to so. It would be a hobby as I tend to agree it would be a tough business model. One of the reasons I got out to Big Snow as I don’t think it’s sustainable. I’m rooting for them but with the big energy cost increases I think they have a tough road.

More like buy Blue Mountain and put a dome over all the slopes for year round skiing 💪🏼
