Nice morning, second chair on the quad. Challenge chair opened a few minutes earlier. First run was on challenge , nice but a few cookies, later lots more. Coming soon was nice early. Over to midway, Yikes! Cookie minefield. Lower main was a wind tunnel. Switch was great, a couple runs with Oz’s crew down sidewinder ( pretty nice) Nightmare was holding up the best so I spent the last 1/2 hr lapping that. 10:45 crowds were out to the gates. Main st chair was idle and Razors was closed for lighting work. Nice morning.

Sounds like spring will be crazy busy for you. My local cemetery charges an additional $650.00 for winter burial. Can’t imagine that any stones would still be level when Spring arrives.

Water softener salt at plumbing supply house. I’ve used pieces of black Carlisle roofing material and laid it down on walks . Seems to work if the sun is out
-
It runs off and more melt water comes down and freezes. There’s a lot of driveway above the picture. So far the marble chips seem to work the best. In spring it looks strange seeing streaks of white chips so I have to explain to visitors occasionally. I think I’m going to try the mobile fireplace just out of curiosity.

I’ll see what the sun does tomorrow. I bought another 160 lbs of chips for now.

This is the worst in 25 years here. The upper section melts and runs onto the the north slope and freezes. I’ve tried screening material ( crushed limestone) but it melts into little holes after an hour in the sun. So far mini marble chips work well for traction . I had an idea for a mobile snow melting contraption. Thinking about an old oil tank sideways with a flue pipe on one end and a door in the other end. I can push it around with my ATV plow . If thing’s don’t improve by next week I might be desperate enough.

I think it makes a difference on steeper terrain, yesterday I watched a boarder sit on his but and scraped the whole way down the chute. Years ago I recall naturally formed moguls being tighter. I used to associate boarders with a disrespectful attitude but yesterday I watched a boarder get of the lift a chug a beverage. I sort of watched him expecting him to chuck the can . He went over to the garbage can and threw it from a distance and missed. Ok he’s going to take off? Nope he took off his board walked into the woods and picked it up! I complemented him and told him he was a decent human being, he laughed. So I guess they’re not all bad🤪

Actually there is but water softener salt works too. I can use it in certain areas but other places turn into a muddy mess.

You bet! At least I can plow that shit off my driveway. I’ve been using chains to get in and out the last three days.

I was next to Oz and he tested the gate then it was stampede time. I must have made 5 “last runs “ then hooked up with the bump crew and made a few more last runs. Better than expected morning, bailed 11 ish. I did a couple behind the guns lower main st . A little to far down and off a jump that sent me backseat , luckily nobody was uphill as I cut across the slope. Falls cookies were casting shadows lol. Everything else was really nice and felt like being on rails.

I was out out at 7 and cleared my wife’s car off with the leaf blower got a decent 2 inches as soon as I shut the leaf blower off, I lost footing and went down on my chest. After plowing, I threw the chains in my van and walking through my backyard my feet went out then I went down on my back, lots of ice lurking beneath . I managed to get out on the first try and was debating about going skiing or going to work, but the steering wheel wouldn’t turn in the direction of work so I ended up at blue a little bit disappointed at the little snow that had fallen. Got there late 10 AM And skied to 11 things were much better than I expected , fast cream cheese , Main Street was still in good shape so I hung there and skied sleepy Hollow Glade, a few times even though it was a bit scratchy.

Sleet rain and a bizarre chemical smell being reported by a bunch of people in my area. Electrical odor?

Did a drive by on the way to Mertztown. The pond was slightly higher, the outer parking lots were filled and everything looked open. I haven’t skied there this year so no conditions report.
