  1. They've been good in the past for me . The driver that showed up was complaining that sine the local office closed ,calls were being routed through Pittsburgh or LA . He said they were giving calls to other companies that were supposed to go to them as it was " their area " . The excuse I was given was the call was given to two other companies who dropped it ? He said AAA left an out of state woman who was stuck on 78 by summit lawn sit from 4am to 8am this morning , I feel lucky? Turns out the spark plug unscrewed and they put a new one in ,supposedly the threads were ok.
  2. Great day for sure, my vehicle lost a spark plug on the way to my 11am appointment . Waited 2.5 hours for a tow truck. Gremlins won today. Still glad I managed to get out there. Morning was 10/10 .
  3. Yep, I had two places that If I was 18 again I would have jumped. šŸ˜

  7. Yea I wasnā€™t brave enough for that trap. I did hit a couple slow bumps in Barneys just for the heck of it.
  8. Yes could have been worse. Lots of other places cams are showing translucent grass underneath. Havenā€™t made too many morning sessions this year but still fun. Left around 10 just as things were softening up.
  9. Mankfest tomorrow , maybe Blue gets 6" ? .....Saturday ???????
  10. https://www.bigsnowamericandream.com/ Got an Email to mark my calendar for Memorial Day weekend. The email seems to be a bit ambiguous but Iā€™ll be happy if they open this summer. I took my son last August and had a blast, it was one of the hottest days of the year 100f when we left. Surreal going from 28f to melting outside.
  11. I don't mind daylight beers in the lot but at night not so much . Buddy bought , I wasn't aware of the 10% discount ,not sure even how much it was .
  12. It's all about de base......... . My buddy and I called it quits and was he said lets grab a quick one on the way out . Pretty small bar but it was empty so we got served quick . Too bad our timing was off one day ,sounded stellar today with last nights retread .
  13. Yea it was horrible and should have been closed. Lazy mile west side was as good as it got. I quit and hilt the bar the hazy Dechutes on tap was pretty tasty
  14. Ok yesterday Iā€™m good for two ski days. I took my skis off went and took a leak and came back out. I think Iā€™m gonna like this new definition I probably hit 600 days this year.
  15. Speaking of flight time I watched a sailplane fly by close to 5pm I figured it was one of the Blairstown NJ guys. Daniel had another great flight yesterday 863km https://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-3.0/gliding/flightinfo.html?dsId=8728254#comment=undefined&map=40.189394%2C-76.083069%2C41.224146%2C-75.110779
  16. I think there needs to be an official definition of a ski day. I personally think it should be log like flight time in hours.
  17. Guns are on ! Very spicy tonight, Skied TCS sideways . Hit Barneys in one or two places and stayed away from the polished snow in between.
  18. Stuck behind Z buses itā€™s gonna be a busy nightStuck behind Z buses itā€™s gonna be a busy night
  19. Haha Sounds like fun although I need to put longer skis on . Kids shorties arenā€™t too fast.
  20. Yes thatā€™s the Friday it started. I guess the power went out late night. I skied Saturday morning, the storm ended early morning. Everything was untracked when I got there. I was 4th chair, never heard so many hoots and hollers.
  21. Different day https://nyskiblog.com/winter-storm-riley-at-plattekill/ Lazlo ā€œOwner of Plattekill ā€œ
  22. He can have these Iā€™m done with them lol
  23. A buried set of steps going up two the second floor deck. The lodge has 3 levels gives an idea of how steep the mountain is. Thatā€™s what makes it a great place to ski powder. Crazy parking lot carved into the side of the mountain . All the Catskills was out of power that day and the word got out Plattekill was open. It was their busiest day in there history. With all the snow it was difficult to move around outside the lodge. If you stepped off the packed snow you got stuck up to your waist. People were flailing about, it was comical. Skiing stuff that deep was challenging for experienced skiers but beginners were toasted. I was halfway down a slope and saw a ski pass me slowly following a ski track and bury itself 50ā€™ from me. I looked uphill , about 100yds up a little girl looked down and threw her arms out and fell over backwards and disappeared lol. I went over and dug her ski out and poked it in the snow tail first so she could see it. Never waited for a chair as everyone was spread out and skied slowly with the deep stuff. Took me 45 minutes to leave, there were cars parked 2 miles away from the lodge. They did a great job shutting people in and out. Great staff , they do an excellent job of herding cattle . The double chair is Expert terrain and the triple is intermediate. Loading the triple is strictly monitored, stands with a stick across the entrance to prevent any strays . A second person pairs the singles line. The employees are very polite too . I rode the triple in the later afternoon and the chair only slowed once. Very well run place! Canā€™t say enough about the place!
