  1. Late start arrive 10:45 they got about 8” of fresh but had some FR on top I heard it was heavy yesterday. Today’s cooler temperatures made it perfect. Some nice bumps on Plunge I stayed on the double chair till after 2. I skied Blockbuster quite a few runs . They left a 7’ high whale up top witch I had to appease the little kid in me and go over the top . I lost some Ptex on Twist . It was thin in places but overall a pretty nice day. First picture, trail to the right of the lift is “Freefall” roped off but poachers carved it up.
  2. Well looking at yesterday it took a beating. I had to move my pass up to my top pocket, it wouldn’t work in my pants pocket. I actually expected to see worse. Hopefully Mother Nature will throw us a bone in March.
  3. Nice night for sure, hit Barneys a bunch and TCS had some nice orphan bump clusters that were fun. The ditch wasn’t too bad as well. A little faster than I would have expected but maybe do to the wind? Up top things are starting to get solid. Second last run lifty put the sled hook on the chair in front of me up top. When I got back on the base lifty took it off the chair behind me. Nice they have a clock up top in the lifty shed I was averaging 10 minute runs on TCS side.
  4. I'm not worried about you ,I ski fast but not reckless , I don't use my Ski Tracks Ap any more but have a good idea how fast I'm going and hit 40+ regularly and if I'm passing someone give plenty of room. I don't ski too many mornings but really enjoy that time when I make it up . I've been on skis 47yrs and have seen a bunch of A hole stuff but last night was the most reckless thing I've ever seen .
  5. Maybe you missed the parts about East and West? We were off to the sides . Nobody uphill. We both looked uphill before he came across.
  6. Sound barrier shock wave.
  7. Skied 5-7:30 “ Garage sale night “My son counted 26 poles , 18 gloves and a pair of goggles (not my size) under the main st chair. Hit main st a couple times. Barneys spit me out early and I slid for a while. Not to be intimidated I returned when the light was better, I should know by now. Had 3 very firm runs but respectable. Hit TCS , needed ear plugs for the really loud powder up top. Skiers right was entertaining watching boarders slide all the way down. A couple bumps were actually nice but some ice between. Had a scare on lower main st . Just before the switch merge. I stopped on the west side and my son was on the East side we both looked uphill before he started traverse over to me. 5 park rats straight lined main st in a tight group. They were on us in seconds , I yelled to my son to stop and he pulled up quickly. One on either side missing him by inches, they were doing easily 45mph! They didn’t pull up much and went though the lower lift merge area at full speed WTF! The Papa Bear in me wanted to go kick some ass but I was in shock. Nice night otherwise.
  8. This happens almost every year. I bet they all got the “code red “ warnings on their phones too ! 😖
  9. How much? Going on 6” in the Bear Creek latitude.
  10. I think Bobby over at EPWA was pre occupied with his taxes and missed this one 😁 Still snowing. Not sure how much Blue got . BC should do well maybe 6”?
  11. Awesome day! Start 9:15 on TCS baby bumps, went over to Barneys , the bumps were a bit fast. Back to TCS for a few more then back to Barneys. Barneys skied really well . After 1:00 back to TCS bumps had grown larger. Skied though lunch and bailed at 2:30. Last few runs were interesting, hit alternating fast/slow patches .
  12. Groomed up top and a couple inches of undisturbed freshies from last night on the lower half. I didn’t find any ice anywhere so it was pedal to metal even over the dogleg drop off . Later runs stayed skiers left and bumps were coming back. Didn’t try da trench .
  13. On the passenger side dashboard. The last thing I put in my pocket. Getting old I guess. I’m taping a spare underneath somewhere tonight. Well if you crash a knock yourself out in the woods somewhere your friends/ family can send help if you have locations turned on. I have a patroller friend at Camelback and on the closing sweep he found someone out cold 50’ into the woods. Lucky they spotted him !
  14. I had an existential crisis today… Pulled in 8:45 booted up , wallet phone in one pocket pass by itself in pants, keys in small pocket? Keys ? Fff . I was only planning an hour but my subconscious decided otherwise. I’ll call AAA in an hour 😁 TCS was awesome I was first few down. Sun at my back and could see nice smoky shadow trailing behind . I don’t roam if I find good snow that’s not boring. The bumps on the lower section are reforming. One run on Barneys as I noticed last night that they blew some refresh . Barneys was firm and fast.Back to TCS then my phone rang $&&@! Wish I could have stayed around longer! Beautiful day!
  15. Dillon Dam Brewery, Great food and Beer. Was there two summers ago . My son and daughter-in-law rented a pontoon boat as a late Father’s Day present. We spent 4 hours fishing and didn’t catch a thing but I didn’t care as the scenery was spectacular. The houses along one reservoir branch were built on a crazy cliff. We stopped there afterwards, our server was busy and a Brewmaster helped out , he noticed my sons Emmaus T shirt. He was from Philly area. Small world lol.
  16. Great repotting….eye roll. Maybe it needs a new flux capacitor.
  17. The top third of the mountain was rock solid and as the day progressed it worked it's way lower . My last run down Barneys I stopped at the beginning pitch were the bumps start and could only plant my pole 1" . Time to quit, the last row of bumps was still a little soft but lower main was really nice . That's usually my least favorite spot on the mountain I like to let it roll after the bumps and there always seems to be some cookies or odd rollers but not yesterday . I'm keeping my equipment in my vehicle from now on I had no plan to go yesterday but schedule opened up .
  18. Haha One of these days I should take a lesson.
  19. Surprisingly good day considering. One survival run down Freefall . Went down Barneys and stayed there the rest of the afternoon. It was comical watching the 6 pack top shack lifties come out the door and walking like penguins then slide down. I took one run down Freefall when I spotted the guns running. Should be sweet tomorrow although no bumps Stay out da trench for a little while a couple lurking rocks.
  20. Empty. , Ice breaks off the quad cushion with a smack or two. Sleeting a bit so valleys ok .
  21. Mid day audible. First run on freefall ….horrifying sounds of unyielding chord . Ditch survived with some thin spots. Second run over to Barneys. Un expectantly fun Thinking I’ll stick around till things turn glacial.
  22. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/02/02/groundhog-day-milltown-mel-dies/ Phil had "No Comment"
  23. Yes , the lower half.
  24. Wait till you try putting them on in a 20mph wind 😁Mine are 9yrs old and still work well. The rubber bungee type hook works on both sets of skis.
  25. Saw a 5ver this morning. Math shouldn’t be that hard for people who can afford to ski.
