Utah late February and early March, I don't think there is place I would rather be that time of year. I wish I could get out there this year but can't. Have a friend getting married on an island so my vacation money is already spent. Will be back in Salt Lake next year definitely.
-
I have been getting my stuff done at Bear Creeks tune shop and everything has been good so far and its usually done in a day or so.
-
Yessss ! I love The Safety Dance, Mini Tribal anyone ?
-
Loved it when I was there. Don't expect to ride park when you go there, worst attempt at a park I have ever seen. The trails are real fun and definitely some interesting terrain.
-
I got it and am definitely using it, i never been to Stowe and can't wait to hit it up.

I have never had a problem with Union, solid binders. The Forces are a good all around binding.

During the week they have specials that can save some money. They have daily specials where you get 10$ off a lift ticket on certain days. Get there early and park at the lower lodge. You shouldn't have a problem during the week with crowds.

Ya, I kind of worded that weird. I meant I just like to get some speed and carve from side to side and usually razors is perfect for that. I can handle the rollers okay but prefer they were not that they at all. It still was a fun run and one of my favorite in the poconos.
-
Anyone know whats up with Razors ? It has weird little rollers on a lot of it. It was cool to pop off them and stuff but I normally like to bomb it and use the whole trail side to side to carve a little. Has it been like this all season ?

I was there today as well. Didn't get there till about 830 because there were like 15 accidents on the NE extension and almost everyone involved a pickup truck. The conditions were good today and I liked switchback the best, it was cool getting to go down dreamweaver for the first time. The parks were okay, looks like they are letting Come Around deteriorate but the jumps on Sidewinder were good. We rooled out around 1230, it was a good day but started to get crowded especially the six pack. There was barely a line at the quad all day, seems like everyone goes to the other lift.

Good to hear. I think my next purchase will be an NS Evo-R at the end of the season.

Weather.com just changed it to 4-6 inches for Elk tomorrow, could be another great day, I hope the roads are better.
-
It was a great day. Elk is do to get another 2-4 inches tonight and tomorrow, I will be up there again tomorrow morning.
-
Not much too say besides it was a great powder day at Elk. The roads were horrible and it took me forever to get there and back. I got there around 1030 and have to leave at 130 so I would make it back in time for my work xmas party. It didn't feel like I was in PA yesterday, it was weird. My Camry did pretty good in the snow with my new tires but those conditions made me want to have a Subie. Its been in the back of my mind to get a new car for a while now , maybe I will. Even on a Powder Day Day with the roads a mess the Gapers were out. This guy had straight skis and jeans on. He was probably the guy with the real wheel drive that couldn't get out of the parking lot.

You missed a real nice day. I should have posted this earlier but changed my mind last minute. I just got back and the roads were horrible but it snowed hard all day and there was nobody there, great day. I will have a TR up with some pics tomorrow morning.

I am off to Elk. I was going to go to Blue but decided ro head a little further North. If anyone else will be there I will be in a Black Sessions jacket and Black Helmet. I will be riding a K2 Jibpan with a clear topsheet so you can see the wood core, can't miss it. The names Dan. I will try and get some pics up later.
-
Wow, that looks real good. I took off friday to get all my xmas shopping done but might be spending my day at Blue instead.
-
The snow quality and grooming at Blue does suck compared to other mountains in the area. BC has much better snow and they are further south, they do have a lot less to groom though. It also takes forever to open up Sidewinder and get a decent park built.
-
What year Jibpan did you ride? I am looking to here from someone that rode this years. I know they softened it up a bit for this year and am wondering how much. The reason I went with the Darkstar over the Jibpan this year is b/c in years past the Jibpan was a semi stiff board and I wanted something softer for the park. I rode the Jibpan all last year in the park and it does well in there I just prefer something a little softer in the park. It is a great board though and truly is an all mountain type of board, you can definitely take it anywhere.
-
Two other good all around boards are the K2 Jibpan and the K2 Darkstar. The Jibpan is a little stiffer than the darkstar. I have both and yesterday and was my first day on the Darkstar and I liked it , have not had the chance to take it in the park yet but it was fun on groomers. Both handle all mountain but the Darkstars softer flex would probably be better in the park and the Jibpan better on the rest of the mountain. This years Jibpan has a shorter nose and tail so you can drop down your board size 5 cm without losing any effective edge. So a 153 Jibpan will ride like a 158 which is a good option if you want a short board that will still hold a good edge elsewhere.

Not sure if they had more than one jump. I remember seeing one thought there might have been another.

I just got back from CB and the park is legit. I didn't get to ride it b/c it was my first day back on snow and didn't want to risk it. I did ride through and check out all the features. I wish I would of had a camera but I didn't think anything would be picture worthy but I was wrong. There is a variety of rails and boxes setup perfectly from the looks of things. Lips looked great and so did the landings. There were also a couple jumps set up nice. It really looked like a mid season park and better than anything I seen at BC and Blue last year . I was real impressed. I really wanted to mess around in there but it was my first day out on a new board and in new boots, too many variables. I am thinking about going back tomorrow to ride. Also there is nothing else open on that side of the mountain so you have your own lift just for the park. Off the top of my head they had a flat box, down box , a rollercoaster type box ( was like a rainbow to flat) , long c box , A- frame box , wall ride, up box , down double barrel rail set up urban, a couple other rails or boxes and a couple jumps. I might of missed a few things or misnamed / messed up on some features but I only rode through and didn't spend my day in there. Simply put they have a bunch a stuff setup and looks very nice.

I think you are right and we probably be heading to CB tomorrow but am still up in the air. Shawnee will have a few trails open as well and a mini terrain park and probably less crowds. Its a tough call, might be a morning decision.
