    Jay Peak

I have never been here but am constantly checking their website during the season and amazed at the amount of snow they get. I would like to try to get there this year. How long does it take from Philly? Who has been there ? The reason I bing this up is I just watched a pretty cool video on the website , check it out : Jay Peak
  2. Looking at getting another k2 jibpan for the park. I have one from two years ago and its the funnest board I have ever been on. Its still in great shape but its a 158 and they were stiffer back then and its not a twin so its more of a all mountain board. I am giving my 156 Atomic Hatchet to my brother and need a new park board. They softened up the Jibpan this year, made it a twin like last year and cut the size down but kept the same effective edge. So you can ride it 5cm smaller than what you would normally ride. Going to get some Union Contact binders to throw on it. I also need some new boots , my thirty two lashed have softened up too much. Looking at the k2 DB t1 , Celsius Cirrus , Vans Fargo and some 32 TM-2 's . Need to get around to the shops and try some of these on and see what fits best. Also I heard 32 had a lot of problems with there boots last year. Anyone have problems with them? The ones I own are from a couple years back. I would like to try some Salomon boots but heard they have a real narrow foot bed and I have a pretty wide foot.
  3. For all mountain bindings I would recommend Union Forces , solid binders .

    Park Snowboard

For a board with a lot of flex I would look at boards like the K2 WWW and Rome Artifact. You won't have any problems flexing those two. Also the new rocker / reverse camber boards are real easy to press from what I hear. Boards like the Lib Tech Skate Banana and I even think the WWW comes rockered this year. I am not sold on the whole rocker fad, I have to get on one and see whats it is about. I kinda like my edges on the snow and if you need help pressing a WWW than maybe snowboarding isn't for you.
  5. I didn't like the pipe at BC at all. I am glad they are getting rid of it . There is plenty of room there to put in a bunch of new features.
  6. I should be there, wearing a Black Sessions pinstripe jacket and Army Green Sessions pants with a RED helmet with music blaring out of it. Easiest way to tell if its me is my board has a clear topsheet with little neon monsters all over it ( K2 Jibpan). The names Dan, I will try to be at the top of the quad at 9.
  7. I think I might skip Blue and head to CB since it will be free with my BC offpeak pass. How crowded does camelback get on weekend mornings, do you think it will be packed next saturday? Is it like Blue and not get crowded till around 1100 and what is the park like?
  8. Last night was a lot of fun and so was this afternoon. Conditions were pretty good considering the warm weather. Last night it seemed like the place was almost empty, there was a few more people out today.
  9. I stayed at Bromley last year midweek at their slope side hotel. The place is real nice , not too big but a lot of different terrain. The place is real cheap midweek but the hotel is a little run down. You will definitely have a good time there.
  10. Good Pics , who is the guy in the black Sessions jacket? I remember seeing him when I was at the top of sideweinder b/c I have almost the same jacket but without the hood.

    Vail TR

I got back from Vail last night and had a great time. We left Friday afternoon and our flight to Denver did not get delayed which was a plus. We connected in Denver to Vail/Eagle Airport which is about a half hour from our place down the road from Vail. We had a condo and the bus stop was out front and we were only a couple stops away from the mountain. We arrived at the mountain Sat morning before the first lift and were in line at the Cascade lift when they started to take people up. There was a dusting of new snow and conditions were good but the visibility sucked, real bad flat light. It snowed the whole day we were there which kept conditions pretty good. We did some groomers on the front which were real nice and then headed to the back bowls. The back bowls are enormous, we messed around back there for a while and then headed to Blue Sky Basin. It has been a while since a dump and we were searching for some pow stashes and we found some stashes in the woods of Blue Sky. The tree riding in Blue Sky was fun and the other terrain there was great. We then worked our way back to the front and did some more runs in the bowls and some more laps off the Northwood lift before calling it a day. We went back home and got changed and headed to Red Lion for some beer and grub, food was good and so were the Fat Tire Amber Ales. The rest of the group went home but a few of us decided to party it up at Sumana which was fun. They had a two guitar band when we got there that played mostly Sublime which was good, but the DJ that followed them sucked, called it a night around 1230 and took the bus home. Day two (Sunday) started at the base of the gondola and we headed straight game creek bowl on the frontside , we found some good snow in the trees at the beginning of game creek bowl, they were short but it was fun. It was again snowing and trhey were expecting a strom to hit later that day. We lapped game creek bowl for a while and then headed to the back bowls again. We mostly rode the sun up lift and the orient express while in the back bowls. I wanted to get over to outer and inner mongolia but the cat walk back looked terrible , they should put another lift back there. My biggest complaint about the place was the amount of catwalks, if we would of planned better we probably avoided some of them but some couldn't be avoided. After the back bowls we hit up the front side for a bit and I went over to check out the main park (Fly Zone ) and the medium park (Flight School) . I was quite impressed to say the least , I didn't have my park board so I didn't do anything besides ride through and check out the features. The two parks sit next to each other and both have great features, perfectly cut 13' and 18' pipes, two different jump lines and a huge quarter pipe that looked awesome. They also had a bunch of jibs of all different varieties. I ended the day with a few more runs on that side of the mountain and called it a day. I met up with everyone and we barbecued and drank some Levity Amber Ale which was also an incredible beer. Called it a night pretty early and it was dumping outside. Day three (Monday ) we woke up to seven inches of fresh snow and we were stoked to get in a powder day before we left. The bus was packed , more so than on the weekends. We headed up the Vista Bahn lift to the Mountaintop express we put us at the top of the Sun up bowl. We dropped in and the snow was perfect , the Rome Anthem I was on floated great but I still wish I had something bigger. We lapped the Sun up lift for a while getting fresh tracks each time. It was starting to get a little crowded back there so we headed over towards the orient express lift and got some more fresh tracks. We started to head further and further towards outer and inner mongolia but the cat track back was too much for us. We had to unstrap several times on it and we weren't even that far over yet. We then went over to Blue Sky Basin which was also good , did some real good tree runs over there before I lost the group. There were nice small cliffs over there but didn't feel comfortable hucking them without a spotter and being by myself. I worked myself back to the front from Blue Sky and hit the bowls again before heading down to the base of the front. I caught the bus back to the condo, everyone was already there and we got changed and headed to Bart and Yetis. It was a small cabin like bar in the Village and we got some beer and grub. we ended the night around 930 and we were getting picked up to go to the airport at 600am . I packed up and the ride home was smooth, besides a bunch of turbulence coming into philly. Overall it was a great trip and I liked the mountain a lot. Its so big you would need over a week to ride everything. The only downfall was the catwalks which could be a pain. I am glad we got snow the last day and got to enjoy the back bowls. I will definitely be back to Colorado such a chill place. I have some pics but they are not that good but I will try to get them up.
  13. Thanks , i will save some room if I keep them on and thats a good idea to wrap the edges.
  14. Do you take your bindings off your board before packing it into your bag and flying with it? I have only been out west once and I think I took my bindings off my board, put them back in the box and stuffed them in my board bag with everything else. Does in matter if I keep them on or should I take them off again? I think I was worried about a bunch of stuff laying on top of them and messing them up somehow. It would probably be easier keeping them on b/c we get in late Friday and are riding early Saturday, but it doesn't take that long to setup a board. Just wondering what everyone else does.
  15. I will be up there before opening at the Valley Lodge, I will be in a 1999 Maroon Toyota Camry.
  16. Anyone heading up tomorrow , I will most likely be heading up and plan on getting there around 700 -715 am . I will most likely be by myself since it looks like everyone that planned on going is now bailing out. I will have on a black jacket and grey pants, black helmet with Anon goggles. I will be on a K2 Jibpan with a clear topsheet so you can see the wood core inside the board, seeing the board will probably be the easiest way to pick me out since not to many people have it. The names Dan. Also what time does the tune shop open up and how are they? I want to bring another board with me to get a tune and it be cool if I could drop it off in the morning before I start and pick it up when I am done. Does the Valley lodge have a tune shop , I really don't like going to the other lodge.
  17. I was up there last Saturday and Sunday and know what you mean about the jumps. I noticed it on the first one , no one was really hitting it b/c of it, we were pretty much using it as a starting point for the last two jumps which were nice last weekend. I liked One park but it could use a few more things in it. A couple nice flat rails would be nice, other than those wide rails they have out now. The could also use a couple more boxes of different varieties, they pretty much have nothing going on at the beginning of the park. That would be a nice spot for some rail and box setups where you could choose a couple different lines, kind of like what Blue has setup at the beginning of their park now. I know BB is the place to go for the park and where they focus most of their attention, but they could add a couple of things to One park and make it a lot better.
  18. Cool , thats what I was looking for. I will likely grab a 155 towards the end of the season when I can get it for cheap , but its discounted at quite a few places right now. How is the flex pattern? Stiffer in between the Bindings, or in nose and tail, or an even flex. Anyone got links to Romes 09 stuff?
  19. I'll throw in a pair of Scott Goggles with Rose Lenses as well, in pretty good condition.
  20. Anyone ride this board, I am interested into hearing some feedback. I will be retiring my Atomic Hatchet at the end of the season and am looking for something different. I have a K2 Jibpan for all mountain so I am looking for a park board. I am interested in the Graft , it seems to be right in between the Artifact and the Agent. I don't want a noodel/jib stick like the Artifact , something for jibbing and jumping. Anyone ride the Graft , any other opinions on other boards I should check out? I have also been looking at some Stepchild and Omatic boards as well.
  21. How about a Dakine snowboard bag only used once or twice, think its 165 cm long. I just got a Dakine low roller so I don't need it anymore. This bag doesn't have wheels though.

    Sno deals

Good deal , I may have to take a trip up there next sunday. I haven't been to Sno/Montage in at least a few years but I did like the place when I was there.
  23. I tried to sell this a while ago but it fell through, wanted to know if anyone is interested. It is a 155 Never Summer Evo , it is listed as their park board but is pretty stiff and I would say more all mountain. It is a couple years old but only rode it one season , but it was in the mix with a couple other boards so it didn't see too many days. I had a full tune done to it in the beginning of the season and its in great shape, some minor topsheet scratches but thats it. Looking for 150$
  24. The box says they are satin/chrome, I say they are silver with some red in them and they are size 9-11. I would be willing to throw in something else, what u looking for?
  25. I have a pair of Ride Flight Tomcats from a couple of years ago that are just sitting in a box. They stopped making them but are in good condition and I liked them a lot when I rode them. They were Rides park binding before the movement series.
