Haha! Yeah they definitely didn't want to make the last race of the year an easy one. I had a ton of fun with this league... I'm glad you took the initiative to set this up Mike. Thank you for that! It was great meeting new peeps and watching all of those fast doods rip it up.

Heh, I really don't want to pile on you HSC, but what I think they're trying to say is.. if there's a 10 to 1 ratio of Mainline riders to Spike riders, shouldn't Mainline be top priority?

It was awesome meeting you and racing with you Johnny. Enjoy your time in Aspen you lucky sob!

I was there last night for my first Friday night in a long long time. I forgot just how much more popular that night is over the other nights. The lodge was packed, not an open table or seat. The upper mountain was busy, Northface was still without lines (probably thanks to Long Haul being open). Big park was empty. Little park was an utter ZOO!!! Which makes me go back to what I said in the park thread.... Sno needs more smaller features because they're a million times more popular than the big hits on Spike.
-
Right.. I'm not a psychic so I can't predict exactly how the crowds (or lack thereof) will be... but I say you should just expect to see what you saw for MLK day.
-
Well, I mean is it roped off with a small entrance to make sure no one is going in there that doesn't plan on doing park. (anyone doing park knows enough not to chill out on the landings)
-
Does snow have Spike roped off yet??
-
wow.. awesome! I actually bought nearly all my riding clothes from The House.. it's awesome they're doing a daily discount and cleansnipe has it included.
-
Hah that's a sick hit! Props to the park crew. Sno Mtn should get some banners out on them.
-
Awh man.. I did miss out.. Congrats crew!!!

I like the $3 dixie cup Miller Lights that are on special. I heard that movie theaters make a huge portion of their profits from the snacks. I guess too much of the ridiculous $8.50 ticket price goes to the movie companies. So too maybe these mountains need expensive food prices to help cover the cost of other expenses.. like operating the entire lodge, the overpriced retail store who's only sales come from chapstick, bathrooms, etc.
-
On a side note.. I'm amazed people still read the news papers.
-
Hell yeah.. real good news. Season pass sales from 400 to over 1000. the link....
-
That's probably one of the best mountains to ski powder.. you lucky sob!
-
Nice man.. excellent run.
-
Hell yeah.. I couldn't make the JFBB one.. so another chance to meet up would be great.
-
Wow, that was the most badass post in teh history of the Internet.

We got our 4th place!! Nice job to Mike, Johnny, Bob Sr, Bob Jr, Stacy, and Glenn ()!!!

Haha! smart idea Unfortunately, there isn't Nastar tonight. This is a league that you have to be registered in advance for. :\

Nice.. how'd you get these times? Is there a site I don't know about?

I can't believe I skipped over this thread because I couldn't agree more with some of the things Clauss and company said in this thread. First, let me start off by saying I'm NOT a park rat. In fact, I suck at park. However.. this is not because I never wanted to learn. I agree there is a need for more beginner stuff. I may be biased.. and only see what I want to see.. but I do notice that the most popular features set up at Sno tend to be the easiest stuff available. Not sure what you mean here... does this mean you can't build step-downs that use the natural slope of the Spike headwalls as landings? I never understood why Sno builds jumps like they do. The use ridiculously large snow mounds on the flat parts of the trail, throw in a lip, and flatten the top. They're the most intimidating things to hit (at least hit the right way). It'd be nice to see a hit where you didn't need a ton of speed just to make it up the top, let alone clear it properly. This year the jumps definitely look much better, with the wedges they look like normal hits you'd see every where else. Understood. Hopefully once we get the pipes up and running, those along with the new jumbo hits you guys set up, you can focus on building a bigger newb area for us pussies! (haha, jk! ) It's cool you came here to post.. hearing from mountain reps is always good. I do think everyone will agree you're doing a great job.. especially considering your limited resources.
