couldn't disagree more. I'd love to grab a new pair of skis but really don't feel like dropping $200+ on another pair of bindings...I could take bindings off my skis now but then that would make them useless.
-
saw this over on NS, anybody heard of them? they're claiming pretty extensive testing in all types of conditions, even with tele bindings, and they also claim they wont void any warranties on either skis or bindings because they're barely bigger than regular mounting screws. basically they're inserts slightly bigger than mounting screws that you can either drill and tap into your ski or remount into your existing screw holes and set with epoxy. then you just use machine screws (they recommend blue loctite to protect against loosening) to mount your bindings and you can swap them around from ski to ski like a snowboard. pretty much like the old line system. seems like they would get loose from vibrations but then again snowboards have the same technology. I can imagine if you just keep an eye on the torque of the screws (like you would on a snowboard) these being fine. $60 for a 36 pack, enough for two pairs of skis. kinda expensive but way cheaper than buying another pair of bindings.....plus you can take your bindings off and flatten out your skis so you can jam more skis into a bag when you fly with them. if you think about it, it's basically the same exact thing as drilling and tapping in regular mounting screws. http://www.quiverkiller.com

well...if it stays on, it could be interesting. only thing that sucks is that the iPhone lens isn't nearly as wide as the gopro style helmet cams.

I definitely give respect for the people that went out of their way and turned boulder into what it is. for it's peak time they were one of the firsts to sort of go all in with the park thing....and I used to enjoy skiing there, and still do, sometimes to an extent. from 7-13 we had a mountain house in blakeslee, so I pretty much grew up at jfbb. didn't mean to bring any hate really, it's just lately the vibe that place has been putting off is really uncomfortable, and that's coming from me, a pretty trendy park rat that more or less "fits in" with that demographic. simply put, there are a lot of douchebags that are there now, and they're not too friendly, which is totally wack for a small hill in PA. /threadjack

well its got no vert, slow and uncomfortable lifts, basically no runs that aren't a park, and is littered with 14 year old trendwhores and jock brodawgs that enjoy snowboarding and natty ice. for someone that doesn't ski park, it's hell. even for those of us that ski nothing but park, it's pretty much turned to hell for us too. big broulder.

finally got around to getting this...giving it a shot tomorrow
-
oh shit, I completely forgot about the air bag, ahaha
-
I can't believe I forgot this... so me and xnick are flying down mainstreet and we get whistled off to the left by ski patrol. I thought either someone was hurt or they were coming to yell at us, but they were actually doing some retarded photoshoot. I stood there for a second, and this chick basically gets naked right at the bottom of mainstreet for some modeling shit I guess. probably top 5 weirdest things ive seen at blue. took a picture with my phone but I was too far away to get any details, if you zoom it you can sort of get a glimpse of whats going on.

pretty legit day. best setup ive ever seen in lower park. jumps were surprisingly nice, although you had to bomb the shit out of them and most times couldn't even hit the second. still fun to dick around on though, lips were mellow and landings were decent. come around was a little icy but what do you expect. they're blowing a lot of snow in central park, wonder what they're gonna set up there. sidewinder was bare, and I think they opened paradise in the middle of the day...I know more will be open tomorrow. ill be there again tomorrow probably around 10ish
-
yep, aspen has iPod docks and speakers in their gondolas now.
-
as always, just stoked to see something new
-
yaaaa brah. catch a glimpse of the lower park setup? cant wait to shred all weekend, good weather, good setup.
-
I made my reservation to see santa, I heard spots were filling quick so I hopped on it

facebook is FREE FREE FREE advertising and marketing GOLD. they have 5,653 likes on their page (actually more than BB, who would of thought). I know it's not much compared to how many people visit the mountain but thats a possible 5k people getting their updates in their feed without costing blue anything. if they advertised their fb page all over the mountain, im sure they could double that number. breck has 40,000 likes, obviously no comparison to blue mountain, but still they could really get a lot out of fb marketing with very little effort.
-
id say barely any of their updates are useful...they don't even have pictures of the park setup
-
I'll be up tomorrow morning. gonna be legit. hopefully I'll be able to snag some fruit from the fruit elf seriously, who's updating blue's fb?
-
I hate taking that way. They rape you enough as it is with tolls, 22 to 145 to BMD is a much better drive, plus you pass through all the shit you would ever need.
-
does anybody ski at boulder anymore? sort of sick of seeing the same shit in your edits.
-
Yeah I guess I don't really know what I was thinking. Most of us have passes, hardly ever buy lift tickets, and pretty much ski at one mountain anyway. And if we do go on trips, it's on our own time.
-
I don't understand why we can't get deals and discounts? I would consider PASR sort of like a club, at least all the OG members
-
what the fuck does this mean?
-
they should have flashing yellow lights like school zones installed
-
this is no new issue. I remember my citizens debit card used to have that paypass bullshit, then they immediately recalled them after they found out how easy it was to steal info. im pretty sure they have no way of encrypting the info through RFID yet.

xnick wants to roll up on thursday, so ill probably hold off until then. im tempted to go wednesday for the valley opening but I might just save gas for the weekend. friday they're calling for 35 degrees and sun...can't wait for that.
