  1. I used to run them at 6, but I started getting prerelease on a few landings so I cranked them up to 8, been good so far. Didn't know the px has the same heel release as the pivots...I'm running PX JIB's on my afterbangs. I recently fucked my knee up again a few weeks ago, I didn't tear anything luckily, I just pinched the cartilage. Needless to say I've been a little nervous tweaking it on a release lately than I've ever been.
  2. Yeah these bindings are fucking dope...having the heel piece pivot during a release can prevent tons of knee/ligament injuries, especially for those that like to crank up their DIN. With my knee problems...I'm definitely trying to snag a pair or two sometime this season.
  3. Fuck school and my finals...I wish I could of went... A51 this weekend though!
  4. I can see this insulting a bunch of people.
  5. http://www.lookpivot.com Fucking stoked. Definitely grabbing a pair as soon as I get some cash to.
  6. Yeah man I-70 can get pretty fucked during a snowstorm. I got stuck once inbetween georgetown and the pass coming back down to denver at like 5 on a sunday...it was a late ass storm and CDOT couldn't keep up. Wound up being stuck for 3 hours in the same spot. Hell coming back from vegas the first week of october it took us forever to get from silvy to denver, the roads were solid ice and it was puking. The weather is always so random, one day it could be sunny as hell and actually hot out, the next day it could be puking.
  7. I know some girl from craig that goes to my school, its like 20 minutes away from steamboat, we might be able to go hang out there over the break
  8. For sure man. Hit me up if you ever want to ski...me and librider are out here, we'll be hovering around summit county all winter, especially with my schedule for next term. I've got Wednesdays and Fridays off...plus the weekend, so I'll be skiing a shit ton.
  9. As far as the SLC - CO thing, you have a few options. The drive from SLC - Aspen isn't that bad, I've done Park City - Denver and Vegas - Denver a few times. Besides driving, you can get a charter flight to Grand Junction (the CO/UT border town), which would be about 2.5 hours from aspen. You can also actually fly into aspen (they do have an airport there for charter flights), or eagle county (about 1.5 hours from aspen). Grand Junction would probably be the cheapest, I'd imagine a peak season charter flight from SLC to Aspen would be on the costly side. Another option would be fly into denver and ride the CME van to aspen...I believe it's around $80 I think...I'd be cheaper than renting a car from denver and driving, but then you'd have to do that anyway to get back for the denver show. Also keep in mind if you're driving from Aspen to Denver, you've got Beaver Creek and Vail on the way down, and Powderhorn not to far especially if you fly into junction. I'd definitely try and make it to the beav, on a pow day they've got some awesome trees. Plus it's owned by vail so if you get a multiple day ticket there, you can use it at vail, keystone, breck, or abasin. That post might be super confusing, but if you need any help, I've been all over the state a few times already so I can definitely help you out with planning.
  10. yeah colorado's fucking wack
  11. Having a jump over 45 at blue is absolutely pointless. 1. They don't know how to build it properly/have the resources for that and 2. Even if they did, it would be near impossible to get enough speed to hit it without dying. Keystone's last jump of their big line was 65, and it was pretty huge. Keep in mind that was the LAST jump. They actually get into physics when building their jump line...and they put that at the bottom, after a 30 and 50. Just an idea for how much speed you need to clear a jump that big.
  12. I went up today too, skied from 10:30-3. It was pretty dead all day I thought. I waited in a long'ish line once for the mid station but other then that it was a 5 minute wait tops. Park setup is pretty legit, they've got some nice new rails and boxes for this season. Jump was OK...better than it was but still uneven as fuck. The lip is still way too tall I thought. They could cut it pretty much in half and reshape the lip and have a really fun step up. The way it is now it's a mega gnarly step down lip with a tiny narrow landing. Nice ass day though, got pretty warm
  13. Damnit...I was gonna use that coupon on my xmas flight but im flying out the 23rd and its blacked out.
  14. I forgot who's house it was. Maybe sarahs? I think I woke up there one morning. Kinda fuzzy. You still at wildernest?
  15. breck cops never cared about that shit. I was at a party once and was hitting a vape just as a cop walks through the door...he just said to keep it down. just don't run stop signs or bake out the gondola.
  16. The drive from denver isn't THAT bad...I do it almost every weekend. Plus staying in denver has it's perks, way cheaper places to party....but if you're gonna be here for a few days, I'd want to be as close to the mountain as possible. One of my buddies works at the Comfort Suites in Silverthorne, I might be able to hook you up with a deal on a room. He's gotten me free or next to free rooms a few times last season, his boss does not give a shit. I'll see what I can do.
  17. Yeah I was at the halloween jam last year....not snowboard only
  18. The demand to ride pipe is just going down nowadays. It's hard to do, hard to build, and hard to maintain. Even at Breck the pipe is usually dead compared to park lane, and they have one of the best pipes in the US. Blue's pipe was sweet though on the right days, but I think it's a good move to get rid of it. 95% of the days it was open it was beat to shit, from what I can remember two seasons ago when I had my pass there. Also, I hope they grade that slope a little steeper than lower terrain. I know it's just a rail park but on slow snow days you can't even hit all the rails on lower terrain due to a serious lack of speed.

  20. I was very pissed I missed the world premiere in denver, I got drunk and never made it over
  21. Yeah I'm on day 4 of grey skys and rain. Sadly I feel like I'm back home. The only good thing about it is the more rain we get, the more snow summit gets
  22. It's been nothing but 45 and rainy down in denver, but it's apparently snowing further west. Precip for the next 4 days
  23. Trying to scrounge together some living money until I find another job...help me out! First off, my pair of 181 Moment Reno Jibs, mounted with Rossi 120 bindings for a 26 boot. These skis are SICK. They have about 30 days on them, but they're still kickin' for sure. Haven't lost much flex, no core shots, just needs a hot wax and they'll still ski great. Just some normal minor topsheet chipping, and I even filled in the larger chips with JB Weld. I got new park skis for this season and I use my invaders for urban so these will just sit around, someone put them to use! $325 SHIPPED OBO+PayPal Fees, throw in $10 more bucks and I'll give 'em a hot wax for you. Next I'm selling my pair of Skullcandy Skullcrushers. I bought these a few months ago and literally used them twice, so they just sit around. I use my earbuds all the time and never use these. $40+PayPal Fees SHIPPED SIZE 26 Lange Freestyle boots. These boots have been sitting by my fireplace for almost a year now. Skied them two seasons ago for a bit, but they didn't fit me right after they packed out (Lange boots are too wide for me). Still in OK condition, definitely skiable. $50 SHIPPED OBO These are also posted on NS so hopppp on it!
  24. I can see where this thread is going
  25. Justin

    $19,000 skis

I love how it says you need to be invited or referred by a "recognized snow sports professional" to buy these skis. I would think if your dumb enough to drop 12 grand+ on a pair of skis it shouldn't be that hard to do it.
