The snow was a little dirty but there was no mud really. They had a relatively deep base and good lips, park crew nailed that shit. The only problem was the fact they put that shit on the steepest headwall...you got rocketed onto/off of shit. As a result it was total fucking chaos. I skied for the first hour, after that I didn't want to risk my season by getting murdered at a pre-season rail jam so I said fuck it and took pictures.

Leaving now...taking pics...shredding....gonna be a fucking blast.

Stowe's gondolas are luxurious

Stowe's definitely the best place to go for a first trip north, if you don't want to ride a lot of park. It takes them a while to get a good park going, or should I say a good long park, only because their good park is on the smallest peak. If you catch a powder day it'll be sickkk for tree lines, even the day after, it's not hard to find stashes. If you want park head to Mount Snow, Loon, or Sunday River I'd say.

If you're trying to drive I'll throw up some cash for gas, my car might still be in the shop. Any plans on crashing somewhere? Driving to Mt. Snow and back in one day to hike jibs is kinda nuts, especially when 1260 is having a jam that same day

Exactly my point, nothing is set in stone, I won't know until mid November. Thankfully the college pass at BB doesn't have an expire date incase shit falls apart. Otherwise I'm getting a Colorado Pass, maybe even an Epic if I can get it in time.

It was cold as shit this morning, huge patches of white frost on the grassy fields driving to school this morning. BB should be open soon, I just need to figure out if I'm getting a pass or not.

Moment had some issues last year with delam but they straightened it all out. There's been nothing but good feedback on these skis from last year anyway...

Yeah I'm fucking pumped to ski these this year. Went with the 181, 171 was way too small, that's what I rode last year. The quality of these are really unique. Definitely a rock solid ski with nice attention to detail. You can really tell that they're handmade though. It's got an interesting feel to them, they don't feel or look like skis off a production line, especially with the edges. I'm fucking digging it though, not a bad thing by all means.

1260 comp is the same day... I'm running out of dates. After this weekend I'll be at RT for the turbo premiere, then after that, BB should be opening, haha. I'm also running out of local resources for snow. Things aren't looking good.

Mammoth got a nice little storm on the upper parts of the mountain. They're blowing the 18th and are scheduled to open 11/13. Doesn't sound like a lot but when I saw the pics, stoke went through the roof

It's going down to 40 here in Philly... Just ordered my skis today on my lunch break. Had the first session of the year Sunday at 1260, stoke is peaking right now. Probably heading up the BB soon to pick up my pass as well. Winter is coming super fast.

Spring doesn't count, obviously. Haha But in all seriousness, BB can have up to an 8 degree temperature difference from Bear. Even right now according to Google it's 3 degrees colder at BB. It might not sound like a lot but it could be the difference of blowing snow and not.

It would be geographically impossible for Bear to open that early. BB can just barely pull it off considering they have a significant temperature increase compared to Bear which is the warmest out of all the mountains in PA. They struggle to get things rolling in December....

Is the actual comp starting at 5? Can we come earlier to just mess around first?
