  1. I think he means so it can be on 4/20.
  2. Fall opening is going to kill them I think. If anything they should open in the spring or summer. Why drive all the way to the Meadowlands to ski a 800' slope when you could ski a real mountain? If they opened in the summer, they'd get flooded with business because there's no where else to go, and people will be infatuated with summer skiing.

    Street skis?

You could buy skis for the same price as those contraptions.

    Street skis?

Those things actually look real fun to mess around on. But not $450 fun...
  5. Snow is almost never the reason a resort closes. It costs a lot of money to keep a resort open in the Spring. Spring skiing, in PA at least, is not marketable to people buying single tickets (aka noobs). Probably close to 80% of the people skiing there are passholders anyway, nobody is going up and buying a lift ticket. To the general population, skiing is not thought of this time of the year. Most people think about skiing between MLK and President's day weekend, which is resorts biggest paydays. To keep BB open, they need to: Pay Employees - Lifties, Sales, Groomers, Ski Patrol, Park Crew Cover Expenses - Electric to run lifts, etc, Gas to run groomers, work trucks, etc Pay Insurance Thats a lot to cover. It's not that BB is losing money persay, its that they dont want to run the RISK of losing money. Right now I'd say they're pretty close but still profiting. In a few more weeks, it's very possible that they might go into the reds and they dont want to run that chance. Once money is lost, its lost and nothing can be done about it.
  6. Wow, Shawnee still is open. They really dropped off the face of the earth this season, last season they were buzzing all over the place with their park.
  7. Already seen the pics here, but it's still sick that you got right up there with the top resorts in NS park updates. People might talk shit on BB, but bottomline is that they were open in November and are still open in April...
  8. The rollercoaster box isnt bad, the tranny box is just pointless. But otherwise the setup sounds sick. Seems a little big, where exactly is this going down?
  9. Jump jams sound really sick, but honestly I don't think I could hike jumps for that long. Shit would be sooooo tiring, plus bombed out mad quick. I'd like to know what the setup might be....regardless I'll be there.
  10. I don't understand why you were so pissed at the "bombed out crater" at the bottom of the staircase. It's not meant to be ollied. Keep in mind Love Park at BB had bombed out landings with no sweet spot every time I went in there. It's also in the shade so it gets icy a lot....
  11. WE CLOSED FOR THE 07-08 SEASON ON SATURDAY MARCH 22ND, AT 5PM . THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT SEASON. RAIL JAM APRIL 19. KEEP CHECKING FOR DETAILS. What's up with this?
  12. The jumps I seen in Love were really small. Also most of the rails in Freedom are ride on, some of them are really small with the exception of the rainbow and battleship.
  13. Yeah the snowboard and freeski programs are only till like noon everyday. After that you have the whole day to do whatever you want, the skating and shit is well worth the grand.
  14. Just get a carpet with real short fibers. If the drop is steep enough it'll work. The carpet ramp at Woodward is basically a white colored astroturf. When they hose that shit down, it slides like crazy.
  15. I was drinking a lot Thursday night so I wound up sleeping till 5PM on Friday. Needless to say I haven't gone to bed yet, and I probably wont. I think I might leave in an hour for first chair.
  16. Just for the record, me, Dan, and Trev will be there tomorrow. Hopefully we can fix up some rails...
  17. It's not too bad...the flat box and 1st flat rail are the only ones worth the effort, they aren't too far gone. DFD might be doable but the lip is almost 100% gone. If I go up tomorrow I'll definitely grab a shovel and fix that shit up with you...
  18. Park Crue was out all morning fucking around on sleds. They came into Sidewinder and just raked and painted lips. Then I seen them putting up the fence around Sidewinder so you have to use the stairs. Basically they did nothing. They need to either reset the rails or pack in more snow, all of them are wobbly. And the lips need a bunch more snow piled on and a reshape. It's really not that much work, but it's Blue Mountain so I expect no work to be done from now until closing.
  19. JFBB passes went on sale about a month ago, they are valid for the rest of this year and next year.
  20. Just got back, skied 9-11:30. John pretty much covered everything, the park is an absolute disaster. It's funny though because with a few hours of work and some snow pushing it could be fine. All of the rails are wobbly and have literally no lips to them. The jumps blow, but surprisingly are somewhat fun and skiable. Very few jibs are hittable, so yeah if you want to ski park don't go to Blue, go to BC or BB. Park Crue, please fix some shit up for Saturday...it would be really nice.
  21. I'm hoping they at least make an attempt at grooming with the rain from today. As long as the jumps are somewhat hittable I'm trying to get my hucked spin game on...
  22. Look for me in the lot broooooseph. 2002 Black Ford Ranger, assclown in the bright green jacket. I'm trying to make this an epic hucking and learning tricks session.
  23. That would be no fun to hike...and would probably take all the snow on the mountain to build.
  24. I'll be there from 8:30-whenever.
