  1. Hopefully it opens this weekend. They should have more chances to blow this week, and they're is a lot of snow on it as of now. It seems feasible for an opening this weekend, but who knows.
  2. Yeah I love my hifi. Where do you get the bass speakers? The ones now are still really good but I'd like them a wee bit more bassy and louder.
  3. NE Philly. Welsh/Verree Rd area, like 10 minutes from Abington. You take Moredun from Terwood/Welsh and that pretty much spits you out where I live.

I just got a Burton Hi-Fi helmet. I've skied with it for 2 days so far and I really like it. It's really light and has great sound, the only problem is that it doesn't get as loud as I want it. I've skied with my iPod headphones on both under helmets and beanies for 6-8 hour days and never had a problem with the newer ones. What gen earbuds are they? The newer ones that come with the Touch, new nano, new shuffle, etc. have been redesigned and made more sleek for more comfort.
  5. So is this happening?
  6. Justo or KnuckleD, if you don't mind driving to my house you can get a ride with me if you want. The drive isn't too bad because it's basically all turnpike...straight shot.
  7. How much will the lift be? If it's less than $30 I might go for the night. I missed skiing today due to lazyness and I don't feel like waiting until Wednesday.
  8. Wow I definitely forgot about that. I think I might need to go.
  9. Definitely.
  10. The Hilltop Inn in Berlin/Montpelier. It was $69/night, but if you're looking to stay somewhere I'd check out either the Alpenrose or Mountaineer Inn which are both in the village of Stowe. The place we were at was 35-40 minutes from the mountain. The two in Stowe are around $70-90/night.
  11. Yeah I just got up too, I had my alarm set for 6 but when I woke up I just went back to sleep. I'm so tired from skiing Stowe.
  12. I've skied switch down Burma and Paradise and have flew down Paradise spraying people sitting down numerous times and have never gotten written up. This has all been midweek so far...better take it easy on the weekends I guess. I don't understand how you can be written up for cursing. Blue isn't school. I can understand if someone politely asked for me to watch my language if there are kids around, but if it's a bunch of adults, they need to learn to deal with the english language.
  13. I'll be in the lot at 8:15. Who else will be there for some pre x-mas shredding?
  14. Just got back from the cushy 9 hour drive.... Left the hotel at the usual 6:30. Decided to skip breakfast at the diner and headed right to Stowe. Stopped in the Mobil in town and grabbed these awesome fresh sausage breakfast sandwiches and 2 Red Bulls. Pulled up to the Mansfield Lodge at 7:30 on the dot. Booted up and got third chair, the Fourrunner opened late. Conditions in the morning were OK. Everything was nicely groomed from top to bottom, but as expected most of Lord was very hard from the sleet the night before. The snow softened up as we got closer to the base though. Got into a lapping pace today, hitting Lord to North Slope then the park on lower North Slope. The park hits were in awesome condition. Snow was perfect consistency in the park. It's amazing how much easier things are when the snow is nice and the hits were groomed and built properly. As the day went on the snow softened up a lot on the whole mountain, but around 10 the incoming rain storm had been covering the mountain, causing some pretty nasty wind and a little rain. From the peak I hit some very tight tree run between Lift Line and Lord and wound up getting stuck halfway. I had too much speed and tried to slow down, but the run was packed down so I got my skis stuck inbetween the packed trail and the loose snow deep in the trees. Dan got a picture of me looking like a noob. We decided to hit up Toll Road for a nice last run of the weekend and then head out for the long drive home. Dan (vincent vega) decided to hit the shred button and turned into a tree riding machine. He found at least 4 or 5 really nice, fast, and fun tree runs off the side of Toll Road. As we approached the bottom, he found an amazing untracked nook between TR and Easy Mile. He took the far right and wound up getting stuck. I took far left and skied it out pretty well, until about 1/2 way when I lost speed and fell over trying to make a turn. I was in chest deep powder, my entire park pole was covered (38" long) so I'd say 45" of snow at least. I managed to somehow roll over onto my back and back on my skis and spit out onto Easy Mile. We rode the incredibly slow TR lift then skied back to the lodge and headed out around 10:45.
  15. Pie-casso. That place is amazing. Too bad I'm feeling the after effects right now. They're canning the "big" terrain park on Tyro this year. It's being relocated to Main Street, top to bottom, on the Spruce Peak. We saw the groomers building it from the lift.
  16. Just got back in from our first day at Stowe. Killer day. Left the hotel around 6:20, hit up some diner a few minutes down the road for breakfast. The locals there were trashing Stowe, saying that its way overpriced, and over hyped. They recommended us to ski Bolton Valley, but we gave a group FUCK THAT and continued on to Stowe. Rolled up to the base lodge at around 7:35. Booted up, got our 2 day lifts, and hopped on the Fourrunner Quad. Hit Ridge View to Lord for excellent packed poe. Near perfect groomers. After a few runs we hit Nosedive for some fresh powder with some rough ungroomed sections to the Gondola. Got third or fourth gondola and skied Gondolier with awesome hardpack as well. After that we hit Chin Clip. Huge, long, winding moguls that really burned my leg muscles. Generally stayed away from the bumps, although we did hit them again a few times on other trails. Hit a few little tree runs here and there and found a few nice ones, however they were already skied down. At around 12 the lines really started getting long, so we headed out to lunch. I got this amazing Stromboli with Pepperoni at this pizza place on 108. Headed back and decided to check out Spruce Peak. They had their slalom course running full on with a long line for timed runs. Took the Sensation Quad for some runs on Upper Smugglers, Whirlaway, and Sterling. Headed back over to Mansfield and hit the park a few times. Generally I was kind of disappointed with it. The hits were real nice but the trail was so so short. They had a 2 jump line with three different take offs. I hit the smallest takeoff (20 feet) and clipped the landing a bit like a noob, first jump of the season so whatever. In addition to the jump line they had an A-frame box, flat box, down box, flat down box, up rail, wallride, and some barrel jib. I was hitting the flat box a lot, that thing was pretty perfect. Ended the day with a top to bottom Toll Road run with some interesting ski maneuvers taking place. Took the last lift ride up the Toll Road lift, skied back to the base and left at 4:30. Killer, killer day, and I'm sure I left some things out.
  17. PARADISE! I was actually thinking about not skiing today, but now I think I might need to leave school a little early...this is my last day in school until 2008...why not enjoy it.
  18. So is Paradise open Thursday or Friday? Sky Top is a pretty challenging trail...I prefer connector though. Especially when it's fresh.
  19. I'll be there tomorrow around 4:30-5:00. Too tired to ski today...I'm going to sleep when I come home from school, as well as in school.
  20. BC scans your ticket when you're in the lift line....I really like Blue's scan and forget policy.
  21. They had a fixins bar at the Roy Rogers in the A-Town service plaza. That was before they leveled it of course.

It's this year's park, so yes. I kind of seen it, these OG iMacs play video so choppy. But it looked pretty sick.
  23. Well then...I really don't have an answer to that. I don't think "refusing" to get your pass validated is an option. It might trigger a violent blood bath, just MAYBE though.
  24. You get a different looking pass if you get the VIP one. If you don't get a validation with your regular pass my guess is they make you go and get one? On both days I skied BB not one person asked to see my ticket, it wasn't in plain sight either. Most of the lifties don't even care....
  25. Yeah it makes absolutely no sense. You have to get a lift ticket, for free, by showing your season pass. That is of course unless you shell out and extra $100 to avoid this.
