  1. This is why I hate PASR. Everytime I'm on it, I want to go skiing. It helps get me stoked in school before I head up to Blue though, especially because I spend close to 3 hours a day infront of a computer with nothing to do.
  2. My biggest problem with Blue is Sidewinder itself as a trail. I never liked it. I like parks that have a mellow and wide slope, it's just a mental thing I guess. Every resort in PA is going through the same stages in their park, seems like at different times. Eventually they will get it right. Last year Blue jumped on the circus rail bandwagon. They need to realize that well maintained hits throughout the day are essential to having a good park. Blue, along with many other resorts, tend to just stick shit in the park and say have at it, as in what more do you want. By noon on weekends the lips are mush and the landings are flat and buried out, but there will be a billion unecessary rails there. All in all, we're doing pretty well for an unmotivated park. Keep in mind that many pristine parks you see are groomed for a reason, whether it be local pro's who attract media and attention, or competitions that go on in the park. JFBB had the Jiblab buzz to get things going, and now they have a well maintained website. They also get support from the "big" companies (Peanut Butter and Rail Jam, etc). They have motivation, they have media, they have competitions, so they have a good park. All that in turn gets them exposure which leads to more skiers/riders. Blue on the other hand only has to appease their passholders pretty much, and they sometimes do a shitty job with that. Eventually things will pick up there. Regardless, my pass is at Blue. They have the best value for my money, and still have a lot of mountain/vert for when I just feel like taking some turns. JFBB is ripoff for season passes, and BC has tiny vert. I live a good hour+ from skiing right now so I need a place that I can go and have a good time at anytime, which usually turns out to weeknights.
  3. I have the 07's, solid skis. They had delam issues a few years back but all thats fixed.
  4. 79?
  5. Isn't that retail....
  6. Dumonts are SOLID skis. Just like any other Salomon's. Enjoy.
  7. Really sounds like Sno is going off this year. Hopefully I'll be up sometime on winter break.
  8. I hate to say it, but I would probably have more fun with ice rink snow in my backyard than at A-Basin in early October. So not worth paying $45 for...you get maybe 3 runs in 4 hours? Not to mention the massive human slalom taking place.
  9. Damn, such smooth style from everybody.
  10. Damn, I'll be up your way on Sunday, I might stop by and get some skiing done.
  11. I had Langhorne repair a huge rock gouge (too big to fix myself). I've also had them mount bindings. Never had a problem with them or their work. I've always tuned my own stuff. Wax, edges, and p-tex repair. I don't mess with big gouges though. I'd try G-spot, the skate/snow shop down the road on business route 1 from Langhorne. I know they hand tune all the boards, so you can always give it a shot.
  12. I didn't like the early season Come Around park. I liked it better when they would have the Lower Terrain Park open with features early in the season. It's a wider trail. And yeah sidewinder takes forever to be up and running. They need to blow A TON of snow. Hence why the park didn't open until mid/late January last year.
  13. Ironically I might be shooting a wedding that day. Otherwise I'd be down for photography. I can also work park crew at the same time. I'll let you know.

    twins cheap!

    Trends crack me up.

    twins cheap!

Just buy an East all-star jersey, 2XL, and cut your poles to more than half the size they should be. You'll fit in just fine...
  16. I'll either be paying $427 or $455.
  17. Yeah the mega ramp was pretty sick. I didn't get a chance to try it but I've seen it and seen kids on it. Next year they are expanding it a ton, this year was just a test. Along with summer instruction they are also having a Woodward Camp at Copper Mountain for winter camp. Don't forget you also have full use of the gymnastics facilities for "aerial training and awareness". I heard that they really do help with being comfortable spinning and stuff. I always go for rollerblading though, maybe I'll sign up for skiing one week next year.
  18. I'd get your skis center mounted no matter what if you have twins, and are doing mostly park skiing. Having your bindings mounted regular (which is offset towards the back) only benefits your turning, since it directs the power from your legs more toward the back of the ski, allowing you to make more powerful turns. However, since your weight is not evenly distributed along the ski, and it's toward the back, it does make it harder to turn IMO, mostly because there is more ski in front of you. That might not make sense but that's how I see it. All of this is based on my personal preference though. I don't like the way offset mounted skis ride. Probably because I pretty much learned how to ski mostly on center mounted skis. But like I said if you are planning on staying in the park then mount them center. Most twins are sold with the recommended mounting style as centered anyway. I like the way centered mounted skis feel, I'm currently riding 171's (I'm about 5'6") and they feel much shorter than they actually are in terms of turning and general handling, which is a good thing for me. It also makes fakie skiing a breeze, especially with the symmetrical flex and true twin tip pattern of my Invaders.
  19. Any mountain would be a good choice for you, it's all based on location, proximity, terrain features, crowds, lifts, and of course personal preference. JFBB is sort of small. I'm basically a 98% park skiier, so mountain size and big long steep trails don't really concern me too much, although fun to mess around on. I'm really only concerned about the park, the features, park crew, etc. I really like BB's park, but in terms of being an all around recreational mountain it is rather small. JF's east mountain is kind of cool though. Since you have only ridden once I wouldn't commit to a season pass just yet. Get yourself some nice gear and get out to a bunch of different mountains. Move around from mountain to mountain in December-January, and if you feel like you are ready and will get out enough to warrent it get a pass there. But I wouldn't commit myself to a season pass to a mountain I have never skied before, unless it had a huge reputation (like Breck, Mammoth, etc.).
  20. Sounds really sick. I might be getting a BC pass this year. It's much closer to me than Blue, so I can ski weekdays afterschool without a long ass 1 hour 15 minute drive, and it's cheaper which helps me out because I'm broke, all the time.
  21. East mtn. is kind of cool, but only when there is enough snow for tree runs. Other than that its nothing that amazing, just some OK steeps. I've seen bumps alongside Lazy Mile that were bigger than the Cliff Huck. The only thing I like is the segregation, how it's like completely separated from the rest of the mountain, so the lift lines are usually short.
  22. Lazy Mile is a perfect trail to cruise on when your legs are burning like a fire from skiing all day.
  23. $100 off student rates?
  24. If they make some decent improvements I might get a season pass there. It's closer and cheaper than Blue right now, and I want to ski alot this upcoming season. I can bear the drive to BC after school but Blue is way to far to be driving to after a long day of school, well the ride home is what would suck. I just hope that if I get a pass there, they'll have a better season in the beginning than they did last year.
  25. I beg to differ with BB's park now compared to blue's last year. In its prime, I'd have to say blue took that hands down. Lots of booters, including the big-mofo, season ender, 70ft one. Also their jibs were pretty nice as well. They had a complete top to bottom terrain park packed with features, with two options to come down, either lower sidewinder or the terrain park off shuttle. With their widening, it should be even better later this season. BB has been blessed with the jiblab guys preseason so that explains their nice jibs. But blue still has the same quality....infact, I think between BC, Blue, and jfbb, all the jibs are built exactly the same. BB has also had much more luck with snowmaking too...and they also spread out their jibs on pretty much every trail. Blue's park right now is HORRIBLE. Even if we had enough snow come around is really no place for a terrain park. In the beginning part, its way too steep and doesn't flow like a park should. Even still there is no room. Pretty soon that jump will be a crappy roller, and they might take out that one gap on box because there is a serious lack of snow.
