Climate change 'could kill of Alpine skiing' - OECD
Justin replied to mtnbiker99x's topic in General Chat
All we need is for yellowstone to erupt....sure, it'll destroy practically the entire western half of the US and Canada with either a massive fireball, magma flow/rain, or volcanic ash effects, and kill tons and tons of people, but since we're on the east coast we'll barely get any ash and benefit from the much much colder temps....shit we could be overdue for the eruption (yes I watched super volcano) -
you mean allentown burbs...maybe if I did 120 on the turnpike I could make it in about 45 minutes and under.
-
Thats where I'm at. I'm in pine valley, which is tecnically still philly but is considered the suburbs.
-
I made it in an hour and 9 minutes today to blue...I'm near abington. I just take terwood dr to the turnpike, then hop on the NE extension
-
I'll be there....new invaders, green ayrex jacket, black special blend pants, joystick poles (checkered ones) if you see me just shout out my name, not too hard to figure out based on my username
-
I really want to go this summer....even more now

Whistler/Blackcomb NS update - http://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/pa...es/resort_id/4/

Pretty much my whole setup matches...but it wasnt even intentional. My bindings are black and green, boots are black and green, my gloves are black/green stripes, my jacket is green, and my pants are black.

But I do agree with the fact that snow will cover a good 60% of that bus. That thing would be death on a stick (or should I say bus) if it was a giant disaster jawn...wouldn't want to clip that
-
Best deal out there IMO, $299 for a really good ski, especially since they worked out all the kinks from last year like the delam problem.

You could get a new pair of invaders for $299.....I really like my pair

I'm in the area too. I go to blue, its so worth the extra 15 minutes. Are you by chance dsbupinthis from the old school denial messageboard?

Once I'm driving I'll be going AT LEAST 3 days a week, late'ish friday/sat/sunday. Probably more when I have free time on random weekdays afterschool. The drive is husky for me (1hr15min), but I don't care. I'm looking at a minimum of 18 days, which is $540 in lift tickets, making the current season pass price worth it anyway. BUT before then, the most I'll be going is probably 2 days a week, saturday/sunday. I'm looking at a minimum of 18 days, counting some of january, all of feb, and the first week in march, which is $540 in lift tickets, making the current season pass price worth it anyway. This is just counting the 3 days a week minimum I see myself going. I'm almost 100% positive I will be going more days. I like having the freedom of just heading up to blue anyday right from school and not having to worry about paying for a lift ticket or any of that bullshit. So with all that math and stuff I just figured out its worth it to get the season pass even with the current price. However, I dont mind holding off and scrounging $$ off my parents for lift tickets till I'm driving if it'll save me a few bucks. I'd need to wait until after christmas though, when I'll have the money. Shit, I might even find a season pass to blue as a gift from santa. I doubt it though...maybe I can ask my grandma
-
I was just wondering if blue makes their passes cheaper as the season goes on. Since I'm not driving right now it would be pointless for me to get a pass, seeing as I can only get up on weekends, but in January I'll be able to make it up weekdays and as much as possible. So if I bought my pass in January would it be cheaper than $466 (what it is now)?
-
Yea, well legally that is... Pretty much I'm going to ski my ass off then just have a place to crash and get a shower...eat some hungry man dinners too. I'll might be heading up with one or two people max, maybe just even myself...trying to keep it as cheap as possible.
-
Whats the cheapest hotel around there? Like 20-30 minutes from the lifts. I'm gonna head up some random weekends in Feburary, March, and for like a week over spring break....while everybody heads to cancun....i'll be skiing that is depending on whether or not I take a CO trip over spring break
-
me too...all it says it that they added a new feature to the park on come around
-
You're better off clearing a smaller section and setting up like 2 jibs. Maybe look into building some snowguns if you want. But relying on natural snow is pointless...you might get 2 or 3 days where there is barely enough snow to ride.
-
I wouldn't risk hitting up urban rails with them. Search eBay and NS for some old trashed twins....but you most definitely NEED a separate pair of skis for urban, seeing as your landing is usually an asphalt parking lot.
-
fuuuuckkk i want to go. but i'll be ~1000 miles south at the time....damn aurburn university school crap and non-refundable plane tickets.
-
I'm not sure if BC will be open this weekend - def by next week/16th though. Can someone back me up on this?
