Even if they could blow snow this week, the time window at which the temp is below 32 will be only a couple hours, and the little snow they could blow at night would just melt during the day from the sun.

I love my figments. I got em last year for $60 at a shop by my house, they're all black with the mirrored lens...I'll probably be using them this year too.

Well...if that's true, that would definatly hurt them. Over the years they built up this crazy reputation of having insane parks...and since they don't exactly have good, if any, "natural terrain", then their business is done....nothing justifies them to make their parks smaller. And the statement at the end, "We do hope to expand our freestyle terrain in the future. ", completely contradicts what they said...why would they look to expand their parks in the future if they are making them smaller now.

Oh....my....god I am so applying to CU next year, even though my mom wants me to go to drexel. I can't stand it here. I love those trees that are all green in winter still...unlike PA where all the trees have no leaves, and look like dead sticks in the ground

This is making me mad... In october its been real cold. Couple of nights under 32 at my house...let alone up north. Then november hit and it seems like we're getting a warm spell...

They're rental skis..."high performance" or not, expect to get what you would get out of a rental pair.....

Ugh...I hate to say this...but I'd much rather stay home and sleep than ski those two crappy runs.

Everyone say boo if you need to get on a mountain now.

Probably my high school. This year we don't have a team but next year we are having one, we're going to have to compete in the private (catholic) school league since we're a public school, and we inquired too late for this season. I'll probably see if I can get in on an in house league or something at Skate Zone or some other ice rinks...they gotta have something, just for me to get back into shape. -

BOOBOBOBOBOBOOOOOOBOOO It's coming soon. I can feel it. I just decided to get back into ice hockey, so I'm conditioning/training for next season. Gym 3 times a week and open hockey/ice time 1 time a week (Thursdays). So that'll help with skiing too, maybe my muscles wont be as sore now... -
Thanks Papa. I'll see if I can go. I might have some kids coming from RI to stay at my house this weekend, though, to skate, so I might not be able to go.
-
I'd go, but I'm ski-less right now.

DIZZZZZZAMMMM BC Stepping it up like CRAZY this year. I'll admit I was wrong about you guys. Last year wasn't exactly the best season for you guys parkwise (I know the warm weather didn't help), but this update definatly proved me wrong. Sickkkkkk jibs....remember guys its QUALITY not QUANTITY like ParkLogic (no offense to you guys though). Also that cliff jump has go to be one of the sickest things I've seen in PA, probably the only one besides the little cliff huck at JF, but this one looks SICKSICKSICK...is there a little jump before it? Cascade looks mad wide compared to last year too... You guys are definatly tied with Blue for my home mtn this year...

Most mountains are pretty much ready to go way way way before they actually open, as far as our standards go by. Colorado, Montana, etc all get the first snowfall sometime around early september, and they continue from then. By late september/early october they could be opened close to 100% with just natural snowfall, but they still do blow snow in some lower altitude spots (like the base of lifts, etc). They're just restricted by permits and wildlife concerns (bears and shit), operating costs, etc. They are almost never worried about coverage. Compared to the mountains around here (in terms of coverage at opening day, etc), they have just about the same conditions in September. Here in PA we rely mostly on cold temps to blow snow ourselves, as little storms here and there don't really impact that much. We don't get dumpings and dumpings of snow in the winter so resorts mainly rely on snowguns. Some resorts out west usually don't even blow snow on most of their trails. So if weather was the main factor out west, then all the resorts would be opened in late september.

If you're talking about my dom, the part with the "patch" is the tail.

I may go if my damn skis are here by then (TTN still hasn't shipped my 06/07 Invaders)

I think they are using timberline as their NASTAR course this year.
-
Yea, last years invaders skied rather well, but had major delam issues. Line has fixed all of the problems and issued another 1 yr warrenty against delam on the 06/07 model (coming out in a week or two). So if you buy last years models and they delam you're screwed. Trust me spend the $299 (still a good deal on good skis IMO) for this years model...I actually recommend pre-ordering them from Jibij...I did as soon as the pre-order was availible, I know there is a high demand for the new Invaders and Anthems, better to be safe than sorry. You don't get charged until they ship anyway.

The riding was pretty sick. But from a fellow videographer's standpoint, the filming was pretty bad in some spots. Shakey and bad angles....from the colors in that edit you obviously didnt use a dvx (or at least I hope you didnt). I highly suggest getting a tripod to make your shots look much better. Also .wmv is a shitty shitty format, the codec makes the quality look like shit and you compressed it so much that you got mad dropped frames...making the filming look even more shakey and the motion look delayed. Look into the h.264 codec through quicktime (.mov or .mp4 for iPods) - its the latest from qt and its pretty sick, I've been using it for a while now. Don't take anything the wrong way, I'm just trying to help you out....constructive criticism. If you're sending your video into big companies, you want your shit to be top notch.

Maybe the bear mtn. of PA but thats not exactly hard to accomplish.

I probably would never get it with where I live now. The only places I go to is BC or Blue on a normal day, considering the closest proximity (BC 45-1hr Blue 1hr-1hr 15 min). I used to go to JFBB all the time when we had the house in Blakeslee, but now that we sold it, Im stuck here. So realistically I'd only be using it at two mountains most of the season, and most of my time is spent at Blue anyway. I only see myself going to BC for an event or if I dont feel like going to Blue, so maybe I'd say 3-5 days in a season. Last year I only went to other mountains twice - once at BB and once at CB. If this does happen, it would be incredibly expensive. Take CO for example, they have their CO "Gold" Pass...which runs well over $1000, based on the fact that it includes all mountains in CO and they all arent ran by the same company. However, you can get a "Snow Pass" for about $370, which includes Breck, Keystone, A-Basin, and discounts at Vail and Beaver Creek. Keep in mind all of these mountains are operated under the same "chain" of mountains. Since all mountains in PA operate independantly, not only would it be incredibly expensive, but it would probably be near impossible to get every mountain on board with doing it (especially the bigger ones, like Blue, BB, CB, etc) - they are very very content with the season pass profits they make each year anyway. To make a reasonable profit for each mountain, they'd need to make the price well over $1000. If all of the mountains were owned and operated by the same company, then a pass could be much cheaper since in reality only one company is involved, meaning that they are the only one that gets the profit.
