There is a nice layer of ice on the streets under the little bit of fresh snow. It’s a sketchy game walking in ski boots to the bus. We will see how long it takes until I lose. 16 degrees and light snow when I arrived at the mountain. Visibility was poor so I opted for Red Lady instead of Silver Queen lift. That terrain turns into pea soup quick. Did some runs off the front, then headed down to East River. On low viz days it’s always a bit better down there. Snow was better down there too. It has not snowed here in a while so happy for what was falling today to freshen things up. It was the first day of my short season that I felt good on my skis. Non existent lift lines. Friday is the new Saturday closer to the front range, so this was nice! Gonna be bluebird next 2 days. Trees pretty cruddy and icy.

We had freezing rain here yesterday. The roads, the sidewalks were absolutely awful. I delayed leaving for CB until today and planned to leave first thing. It’s still a skating rink so hopefully when the sun comes up it will burn it off.

I felt like a lottery winner when I got my hands on a two pack thru Amazon. Bringing them to CB with me just in case. I am sure they are impossible to find around there.

Damn what is up with that app?! Next time I go out I have to turn it on and see what it does.

Gotta draw the line somewhere 🤷🏻♀️

Guess everything really is more expensive in Zermatt 😂

Good write up! You got a deal on the Covid tests. We paid 75CHF each for ours last fall. I loved the trains there too, so convenient.

No, just staying overnight in Glenwood springs and leaving bright and early to drive home.

Finally drove up to see the progress on my cabin and order some kitchen cabinets. driving in my neighborhood On the drive up I was thinking I would check out the 4 x 4 road that goes up to the top of the hill to see if it would be skiable. Coincidentally, my new neighbors were at the base of it, putting on skins. They reported it wasn’t an epic ski down but it was fun and would be right outside my door. This is the start of the road The road up to my house is about an 8% grade so I could pretty much ski back down to my driveway.

^ agree! In room coffee is sacred. I am way too cheap to buy a $5 bottle of water though. I am a tap water gal wherever I go. *Except for Hawaii now I guess. My son tells me the military’s fuel tanks are leaking into the water supply (and have been for years). I I will have to break down and do bottled water if I go visit him. glad you had such a good time in AZ. Nice to see you so happy, I know that’s your favorite place.

I wonder if smaller mountains will start going independent again. I know Eldora is a shit show this season already. They have such limited parking that on weekends the Boulder County Sheriff puts up a road block at the high school. They say if you don’t get there by 7:45, don’t come until after 1 pm. Today the update was that they opened up the road at 2 pm and we’re letting 10-20 cars at a time go, then waiting for more cars to leave the lot. it would be cool if places like Eldora, Monarch, Loveland and Abasin, Sunlight and Ski Cooper had a combined pass.

North rim closed in winter unless you hike to it

Yay for windows! Delivered yesterday exactly one month after they were supposed to be delivered. they should be all installed by Friday, then on to siding! random picture of the lumber truck. I am sure these delivery guys absolutely hate me 😂

January 3rd...the comeback. Snow making everywhere.

I’ll answer that; Eel avocado roll and Philadelphia roll. -
I will def be going for an extended stay. May leave 19th or a few days later. Some last minute renters would like to extend their stay. Have to decide to take the $ or tell them no.
-
Hopefully heading out 1/19 for an extended stay. They got about 8 feet in 10 days.

I just read that Crested Butte put a sign up saying they are trying to hire liftees, but in the meantime, the extreme terrain is now open if you hike to it.

Shit getting real here. My Jeep is at a mechanic in the next town over that is literally burning to the ground. We tried to pick it up when they called to say it was done and in the span of an hour the fire got insane and we were turned around by police. I have a feeling it’s not gonna make it. horrific watching live footage of homes burning. 100 structures burned to the ground so far. The fire is only about 4 hours old

I bought one exactly a year ago and have not flown it. It is forbidden in so many places around here.
