Quick snowshoe this morning. Lines were long yesterday on the cams and I knew they would be the same today. Kinda windy, but the views were nice. saw a group of 4 guys who were skinning and they ascended behind me in this pic on the slopes to the right. Looked pretty steep and unstable and we heard some “whumphing”. According to CBAC there have been numerous natural and triggered slides in the last 2 days. eating a quick lunch and then heading out to Telluride!

Yes Doug you did 💕. Don’t want to hijack Jeff’s awesome thread here so back to Colorado discussions. -

Yeah, I am drving to Telluride tomorrow to see the boys too. But that’s cool, Jeff just forgot about me, I see how it is. -
I saw that pic too! Think it said it was Westwall, and a guy I rode the lift with was very excited he got first tracks on westwall yesterday. I tried looking it up on the map but only see westwall lift, not trail, and that lift doesn’t seem to service much terrain.

@NMSKI @AtomicSkier there is a local realtor here in town who has a website 14erskiers.com. He also has a FB page. Always posting some good pics for stoke. He posted about the late afternoon opening of the High Lift yesterday with some good pics of the terrain. edit- I just realized only Jeff will be in CB.

BFPD! New PASR acronym Bluebird Fucking Powder Day! Today was my best, most fun day of this season. Snowed 8” overnight. Today is trash day and since my plow guy didn’t come before I left, getting my trash can over a 4’ mound of snow the street guys left for me made me late. 2 full buses went by and a regional bus from Gunnison stopped and said they could take a few. Got in line at 8:31 and (for CB) there was already a decent line. first run down Paradise and OH. MY. GOD. It was deep! Lots of hoots and hollers were heard. East River had equally good snow, but after a few runs the lines started backing up (again, CB lines, but I am now spoiled). Went down to Teo and lapped Bushwacker for a bit, guess what? Good snow there too! Then ended doing some laps near the Umbrella Bar. Some was groomed, but under the lift was fresh. Ended the morning with 11 runs and tired legs. Heard lots of avy bombs going off near the North Face lift. And according to the paper this morning they are trying hard to get it open by President’s weekend FYI @AtomicSkier. Right now I just can’t seem to wipe this smile off my face.

Yes they did, then 4 days after he was released it collapsed again. They did procedure again and he was in for another 11 days. One month follow up scan showed another collapse and they told him to just take it easy. Guess it is slowly repairing itself. Doc said this happens to like 2% of patients, just his luck I guess.

We are still only vaccinating 70+ and people with health risks. I keep telling my son to ask his doctor if he can get it since his lung collapsed twice more after his surgery but he is a dope and won’t ask.

Dynafit’s have a learning curve. Flat ground they are not too bad, but on a slope with powder....Jesus! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The area I took the pics was dust on crust, the actual trails had much nicer snow. No contacts, I usually don’t need my glasses outside. But I just have zero depth perception on low viz days.

Had partial sun for one run then started snowing! Switching between fat flakes and graupel right now but mostly the latter. Gonna snow all day and night so tomorrow will definitely be a powder day. Snow today was good! Official snow report was only an inch but felt like a few inches of fresh. Visibility was really bad. I am ordering those prescription goggle inserts from sport RX because I can’t stand to be blind anymore on low visibility days. Hope they help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I love Domenic’s face in that picture!

Knew the resort would be busier today so decided to go snowshoeing instead at Slate River. Partly sunny skies, light snow and 27 degrees. I love how empty and quiet CB is, hiking on a weekend in Boulder is always a shit show. Saw one other group of 4 ahead of me and that was it.

Is this a serious question? Backcountry skiing is obviously not groomed, various conditions/trees etc.
-
I suck at them, but the more I practice, the more that will translate into backcountry skills.

The boot doctor in Telluride is really good. I got my boots there last year.

Some unexpected work stuff came up so at first light I drive to the Gunnison Walmart to buy a printer. At least the sunrise was nice After I got my stuff done I was on the mountain by 10. Warm today, no mid layer and still had all my zippers open. Getting spoiled here with the lack of crowds because a 3-5 min lift line wait felt long. Did some warm ups on Paradise then headed over to East River. The bumps on Middle Gallowich get me every time! Can’t seem to flow through there without stopping. Then onto Teo for some trees Snow rolling in tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Snowshoed Washington Gulch, absolutely nobody there! Bluebird skies changed to all clouds by the time I was done.

Sold my board as soon as I got skis. No regrets.

-10 when I walked my dog this morning, -3 when I got to the base. Got in line at 8:57 and still got 3rd chair. Finally some visibility today, bluebird skies. First run down Paradise and first clear views since my arrival. Did a few there then headed down to East River. Stuck to groomers today as the legs were tired and figured the bumps would be bricks. Then went down to the slow ass Teo lift to play in the trees a bit. But damn it was just so cold I had to call it. Only lasted about an hour and 20 min. Once it gets above 15 or so I am going to head out to do a mellow snowshoe, need some cardio. Taking gloves off for pics was painful so only 2.

I understand the meaning of a boner emoji on a scenery post. Zero awkwardness. @GrilledSteezeSandwich I am only a pervert with my husband but pretty sure that just makes me an awesome wife, but not a pervert.

Ha! I would never wear it. But you are sweet for asking if I am a size small, those days are long past.
