It is a lodge and a hut next door. We already googled renting space at the hut. $180 per night for 6 people max, short skin in. Here is a link to the lodge. we tried to check them out but the guy in charge was dealing with guests and said we couldn’t go in. https://www.skimag.com/uncategorized/st-paul-lodge-co

I have no idea, I don’t even notice it when I am with her.

@RidgeRacer now if only I could rip down that line........

Our ice climbing guide filled us in about a good ski tour off red mountain pass. She said it was about a 45 min skin in so we thought it was relatively short. She must be super human because by the time we reached the top it was just under 2.5 miles and about 1600’ elevation gain. Gorgeous weather, but cold. Will let the pictures speak for themselves. This is the area people lap, one was enough for us today. Really nice snow conditions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

This year we opted for a private guide and arrived in Ouray a week before the Ice Festival. Kind of nice how quiet it was. Starting our hike in. Our climbing area. My friend Shannon always kills it. My friend Natalie is an incredibly fast climber. Here is me totally stressed that I can hardly keep up with her pace belaying her. The climb out, always feel steep. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

No. Didn’t want to drive or pay for Telluride. We have a place in mind to backcountry ski, but it’s on a pass and we didn’t want to go with no visibility not knowing the area. Hopefully things will clear up and we will do that a Sunday.

Zero visibility. There are mountains here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Short hike before we left Crested Butte this morning. As soon as I stepped off the packed down trail to take a picture I sank. Weather supposed to be pretty bad tomorrow. Lots of wind with the snow so not sure what our day looking like. Ice climbing Saturday. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

For Jeff Not nice enough to sit outside, was cold and windy all day. Good snow conditions, about 3” overnight. Ended up getting new boots at lunch so I missed about an hour of the day but the feel sooooooo much better. Supposed to be another 3-6 tonight into tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Wow they don’t mess around at these women’s clinics. Skied bell to bell with a short break for lunch. I was able to take my phone out once super quick for a few pics. It they really keep you moving. 3 different instructors said they didn’t like the way my boots fit and after the lesson had me go to the boot doctor near the mountain. The guy was flabbergasted that I had a full size too small. Told him that’s what the boot guy in Boulder does. He is keeping the boots overnight and gonna try and stretch the plastic. We shall see tomorrow. But my feet were absolutely killing me after skiing all day. So if his adjustment doesn’t work I may have to bite the bullet and just buy a new pair. Which sucks cause I just got these last season. But the instructors said the boots were affecting my form so guess maybe I have to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ouray to Silverton is definitely beautiful. First time I did that drive was on the back of the motorcycle and was blown away. And Doug I have only been to Durango once and was not impressed. But it was at the end of a week long motorcycle trip and I was kinda cranky. After 6 days of cool summer mountain temps we rolled into Durango and it was 90 degrees. I have only skied here once. Doing a 3 day women’s clinic this time. The drive is such a bitch that I am sticking around the area until the 20th. If you put together a PASR trip I would definitely come. I only got the base Epic Pass as I didn’t think I would use Telluride. Regretting that now, probably would have paid for the upgrade just in these 3 days.

I took AIARE 1 (3 days) and companion rescue (1day) last season. I do keep it mellow and low angle. Our group had good communication and we did evaluations of the snow pack on the way up in addition to checking the avalanche report this morning. What we did today was steep for me but based on our evaluations it was relatively safe. I have no interest in being a hero on crazy stuff. It’s more about just being outside, getting a good workout in, and looking at gorgeous scenery with very few people around.

My go to ski buddy is out of town so I hooked up with some skiers from a backcountry FB group. Went back to the spot I tried a few weeks ago. Much better visibility today. There was tons of powder which we were all surprised by since it has been so windy. The guy in our group was very familiar with the area and had us skin up a pretty steep section that left us all winded. I told him to show me the mellowest line as I knew I was in over my head. The girl had a slope meter on her phone and measured it at 32 degrees. Not sure how a accurate it was knee deep powder and trees, although loose, made it a heart pumping challenge for me. Our run was completely untouched, gotta day it was pretty amazing. Only way to get better at skiing is do things that scare you I guess. Goal achieved today! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Top of Zuma. Beautiful sunny day. Crowds starting to pick up. They are scanning at mid mountain because they said people skinning up are cheating. It is slowing everything down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Damn @Mixilplix glad you are ok. I almost got plowed over by a snowboarder in the lift line yesterday. Was 2 back from loading and a boarder slammed into me, his board on top of my skis with his boot right up against the back of mine. Don’t know how I didn’t fall since I didn’t see it coming. He just quietly said sorry after I turned around and yelled, “Yo what the fuck!” -
Arapahoe Basin was fun today. I was surprised it wasn’t busier. My son convinced me to do the backside off the Zuma lift. Those runs are marked blue, but they feel pretty freaking steep to me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
