  1. The buddy passes are now only 20% off window rates and the pass holder has to be there to use them. No more printing them out, sadly.
  2. What does it say about me that I saw this title (authored by Doug) and didn’t think it was about skiing?
  3. Better shot of the competition wall with someone on it for scale. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Woke up this morning feeling pretty sore. Since today was my free clinic I decided to let my friend use it since she had not signed up for any and was just using the free wall. I did a few routes on the free wall today. There was a competition goin gin that I watched for a while. Those athletes did some insane moves! Competition route. Ice, then rock, then more ice, then man made holds. Next year we may skip the festival and hire a private instructor for a day, then climb ourselves a day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. I am taking his clinic tomorrow. I asked if I could have a free one because of what happened last year. They agreed but said I had to take it with him again. I think he will be more careful about his belay partner this year. And thanks mixiplix, I don’t feel very badass when I am doing it. I find it very challenging, much harder than rock climbing, for me anyway.
  6. Ahhh another year at the ice fest. Was great to break up the trip staying in CB first. Left nice and early this morning to make sure we got a spot at the top lot and so we got a good spot in line at the demo tents. After getting my crampons and tools I decided to also demo a very warm Rab puffy. Took it off for climbing but when belaying or standing around had it on and it made all the difference. Very cold today. Three of us were on time and ready for the clinic, the other 3 people showed up 10 min late and did not have on their harness or crampons on. How fucking annoying! Then we descended into the gorge. That is always super sketchy. At the bottom looking what we just came down. I belayed 3 people before I climbed, so my arms were tired when I started. I had a hard time with my first climb and didn’t get very high. Second one was better but still not great. I’m calling today a warm up day and hopefully tomorrow I will get higher and be more relaxed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Got in line at 8:54. Busy day on a Thursday. We got 2nd chair off Silver Queen lift. Visibility was near zero at the top and not much better by the time we got to Paradise Bowl. Did 2 runs off Paradise and you really couldn’t see shit until you were 2/3 way down. We then headed over to Easy River lift thinking since it’s lower we would have better visibility. It wasn’t much better there but good enough. Black Eagle off that lift was ROTD. Snowed overnight and there was untouched 3” on top of groomed....perfection. Not the push piles and chop of Monday (although that was still fun). Ended up w 7 runs total as we had to get back. Packing up now to head off to Ouray soon. Ps. It was freezing. 8. Getting? I think you should all just move out here and we change the name to COskiANDride.
  9. Few snaps from around town Mountain porn from our hike this morning. Was -9 when I woke up. Warmed up to zero when we hiked. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. For you yes. For me I will stick to the mellower stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Now that I finally learned how not to ski in the backseat and my legs don’t ache after 5 runs..... yes! But my hiking stats are suffering. Lol
  12. But can you tell me which polo shirt you were wearing at the time?
  13. I love it here. Probably snowshoeing tomorrow so I can include the dog in the day’s activities. Maybe ski the morning Thursday before we head down to Ouray for part 2 of our adventure week.
  14. Today was day 20 for me and it was A freaking mazing! Webcam showed 3” from 4pm yesterday of new snow. But it snowed pretty much all day here yesterday so there was lots of goods to be had! When I asked this morning what shuttle the girls wanted to take, 2 of them said they are not first chair people. I have never skied with them before surprisingly but spend a lot of time with them doing other activities. When they gave me that answer I almost banned hem from the house! Luckily, the last girl is a first chair person so we left early. Zero and I mean zero lift lines. Day after a holiday was a score! Took the Silver Queen up and went down to Paradise Bowl, which is my favorite. Always holds a lot of snow. Did 3 runs off of that and headed to the east river lift. Did another 3 there and tried to get over to the Umbrella Bar but took a wrong turn and ended up back at he base. Went up again and found it. Had some lunch and did another handful of runs around there. That terrain is really mellow and groomed (first groomed stuff we hit all day). Was nice to give the legs a break. Last pic was back in town. Probably my best day of the season so far. Conditions could not have been better. Was about 12 degrees all day but felt warmer since the sun came out. 15. Just took my dog on a walk. Seems like everybody has their roof shoveled but all the porches have snow. Most more than mine. I saw a red fox too walking down Main Street. Didn’t have my phone. Be prepared for lots of CB pictures. It’s like a postcard here.
  16. Lots of snow in CB. Went through a whiteout for about 30 minutes. Psyched to ski tomorrow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Mittens are the shit! I switched over when I moved out here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/avalanche-reported-in-closed-terrain-at-loveland-ski-area/73-a21393ff-f85d-4e54-bb21-0cb6bd8c51cb?fbclid=IwAR2cu1vpOl4g30wDU1qItDK1kXFiDot_CN8-W24gG-qej1Z06stw2T-Cu64 another avalanche at Loveland. Looks like in bounds but closed terrain. No reported injuries.
  19. Avalanche danger really amping up around here. With all the slides around lately I’m scared to go anywhere this weekend for a snowshoe unless there is a zero rating. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  21. Skijoring is pretty fun! Traffic was awful since it was a powder day. Took us 3 hours to get to Frisco when it should have taken less than 2. My friend and I planned to get up there early before the class and snowshoe. There wasn’t time for anything long so we just went to a trail at the edge of town so I could walk the dog a little. There were several large female moose hanging around the parking lot so I had to keep him on his leash. There were 5 of us in the class and the first half of class all the dogs wanted to play and everyone was getting wrapped up in leashes and falling down, including myself. By the end, the dogs started to get the hang of it. But when we were standing around I quickly learned I had to be in a dug in snow plow because at any given moment my dog could want to run after something. The equipment is less than $100 so I am going to buy a setup and take him to local places. There were times he was running so fast I couldn’t ski I just tried to stay upright and he was doing all the work. Group shot the instructor took. I have never seen my dog more tired. He totally crashed in the car as soon as I loaded him. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Senator beck basin near Red Mountain Pass
  23. That first picture deserves a frame. Beautiful backdrop.
  24. Ant man, TP4, whoever wants to stay fine by me. My Ouray trip is 1/24-1/27. I blocked out a few days before that in CB to break up the drive. Long ass drive to Ouray. And yes, the “blonde” will be there. She was with me on Jones Pass the other day too.
  25. I don't know about driving to other hills from CB. Closest would be Monarch and that is 90 minutes. Telluride is about 3.5 hours. But yeah, hit me up TP4 if you have questions. They just opened the high lift last week ( not terrain I have or probably would try).
